  1. Changing IPD will change the appearance of cockpits. It is like a scaling sort of thing. It is a global setting, but not every plane adapts to it the same so a little checking it out and finding what works might be in order. Hope this provides some food for thought on cockpit size scale.
  2. I have those panels and have come across this as well and it can be addressed without lua editing. In the SimAppPro software you can go to the Key Binding tab. Then click the take off panel, then DCS and then the F18C. Then you will see bottom right where it says there are some profiles available for use. I use the profile for 100% correct mapping and this fixed the hook bypass switch issue. I still get an issue with raising the launch bar so I just ensure my switch is up and then use my VR controller to raise it to match in the virtual cockpit at the start of the mission and it is fine after that. This one thing is a bit of an anomaly or bug, I guess, and maybe will be sorted soon. Other then that one thing everything else works perfectly as advertised. I hope this points you towards a solution you are happy with.
  3. Overcast and Rain 3 is the issue. The weather settings are not working exactly perfectly at the moment. Try using overcast and rain 1 or 2 and you will find you get the rain. Hope this helps as a work around for now. (I tried the same thing by the way) Happy flying!
  4. Just look for the Domino's pizza and go a few blocks east
  5. Glad you were able to narrow it down and get things working. Now..... Practice refueling!
  6. You already have several airframes. You already have the F16. I am not sure what exactly you are asking. Buy the JF17 and have both and play both as you see fit. Since you already own one of the two modules in question the answer seems simple - buy the JF17 With the free thing going on download the JF for 2 weeks, fly it and get some experience on it. That will help you make up your mind I have no doubt. Fly on!
  7. If the tanker was setup correctly in the mission then the comms menu should show the tanker. If it isn't showing up and it is a practice mission that ships with the Hornet (DCS) then there is an issue. Are you using simple comms or do you need to dial in the freq the tanker is on? This might be a factor as well. Food for thought and hope you get it worked out.
  8. Is the "sometimes" you are talking about attempting to change weapons with weight on wheels?
  9. It's not as bad as it seems once you realize what is going on. I have all the same kit but the IR tracker (I use VR). What's going on is all your devices are automatically creating inputs for the same thing. So, the rudder is getting roll inputs and the stick throttle etc. You only want pitch and roll on the stick and rudder left and right on the rudder pedals etc. When you are in your DCS controls setup for the F18 sim (NOT gameplay) look at each column for each input device and clear any settings that don't belong and leave those that should be there. Some will be in the axis settings so check there too. Otherwise, once you are aware that this is happening it gets pretty quick and easy to get set up for whatever module you wish to use. As an fyi I also have the MFDs and they also had erroneous settings. You will be rocking in minutes now you know what to look for and do. Good luck and happy flying - F18 is a great module.
  10. I realized after posting there was an update so I just did the download and ran a mission on the Syria map with the super carrier and an F18. No problem taking off, hitting the 'admirals doorbell' and dumping fuel then landing rearming/refueling. Then requested launch and repeated. All working here - just as an FYI.
  11. I flew a 3 hour 37 minute mission this last Sunday using the the F-18 off the super carrier in which I landed, refueled/re-armed and took off again 5 times without any issues.
  12. This video has what you might be looking for. The whole video is obviously worth a watch, but the bit pertaining IFEI (6:17) specifically might help.
  13. Hit WYPT on the top right of the HSI MFD. This designates the waypoints to show up on your HUD and is key to coupling the two together. Then when you have autopilot activated and then CPL it should couple the A/P to the waypoints. Auto allows for the waypoints to switch to the next by itself. SEQ (bottom right HSI button) draws the lines between the way points on the HSI/SA MFDs. I use it all the time and works fine. Likewise, if you hit TCN on the upper left of the HSI MFD it will couple to the TCN bearing setup.
  14. LOL - I guess we can all have wishes
  15. I noticed the PAUSE button moved to UI layer now too. So when I set it to the key I wanted other than the PAUSE key as I use a (mini - half the keys -keyboard in my pit) the application told me how many other modules use my desired key and I would be pairing or overriding the previous control(s) for those modules. I guess they call it progress
  16. I believe the word you are looking for is collector. This changes the angle of attack for the rotors. The throttle (twisty grip bit on a helicopter control) does the rpm and pulling up and back on the same stick (collector) changes the pitch of the blades. As I understand it throttle is usually set to a certain rpm where the system is most efficient and the collector is used to manipulate lift, the main stick is used to control the lift vector and the pedals yaw, but I will leave it to a real helicopter pilot to take it from there.
  17. I used Redkite's video tutorial to get sorted out. Here is a link to get you pointed in the right direction.
  18. Yes - cat 1 and 2 launch crew waits until the AI planes got down. As soon as the AI plane caught the wire I noticed the deck crew 'wake up' and begin directing the jet.
  19. I have experienced this at times and it is when an AI aircraft is in the final circuit for landing.
  20. I think this thread has gotten nuked. I mean it is about Heatblur's A-6 and now it is bogged down and side-tracked whether there should be nukes in DCS. (boooo) The voice of reason says it would be nicer to the see discussion back on the A-6 more and nukes a lot less - split that (nukes) in to another thread or something.... Have a great day, y'all.
  21. I can only comment on the TM Warthog as that is what I have but I can add that I have many modules (fast jet, WW2 and helos) for DCS and have never had a problem. The Warthog, as you know is based on the A-10 HOTAS, however the actual A-10 HOTAS incorporated an F-16 stick and an F-15 throttle quadrant as they did not invent anything new when they designed the A-10 in that regard. This means you are set for the A-10 and half way there for the F-16 and F-15. I fly the F-18 the most and it works great as far as I am concerned. There are many choices and some of the peeps here have used numerous of the choices so I also look forward to hearing others input as well. Personally, I am very happy with the TM Warthog but have to admit the Winwing super tauras/libra combination excites me as I fly the F-18 module so often.
  22. The 14th is the scheduled release for 2.7. We have seen several different videos highlighting some module features, ie: F18 HARM, radar and autopilot type stuff, but all everyone seems to comment on is the clouds.... Always.... The clouds. So I know 2.7 is going to have new clouds and some updates for some modules might coincide with 2.7 but otherwise it seems vague to me.
  23. Not sure of cost in Canadian dollars or shipping to Canada.... But let the good times roll Please sign me up my good man!
  24. You want to scare the poop out of yourself put the autopilot on radar mode while down low and then put the auto-throttle on whatever speed setting and do it in IFR conditions.... This may not be the terrain following radar you envisage and you might blow up real good, but it is good for a thrill while it lasts. lol
