Lets just place a carrier on the top of a mountain and call it good enough.

Anyway to use a farp to rearm an aircraft? Why not place one next to a highway and experiment. Make it a secret rearm point in your mission.
-
I think what he really wants is the ability to place an airport anywhere on the map. I can see that being useful for multiplayer balance. For mission building in general. I wouldn't mind being able to plop an airport anywhere.

Are you sure you are running fc2? Try making sure your not running lomac by mistake.
-
Correct. From the ground you see the a10 roll be it might throw you off to witch way its turning. Might be just the trick a pilot needs to escape AAA. Or anything else that wants to shoot at it.

Yes sir. Online tag is Krazy.

ch.teamspeak.cc:9083 Server is up.
-
To be clear. I want players to use servers teamspeak when they are on there server. I want this to be a meeting place for pilots. I don't log onto dcs and check server by server. It's too much to join a server. Get the teamspeak. Tab out and log onto it. Just to find its empty and the 3 others in the server don't want to join coms. I talk to people in teamspeak before I fly. I want this to be a place people look before they fly. I think lonewolves have a bad rep. I do not have the time to join a squad and complete training or make meetings. I take my online flight time seriously. I know others that are in same situation as me. I had some issues with the teamspeak server. I have running now but I was unable to setup any channels. I am forced to go to a relatives graduation atm. When I get home ill finish the setup and post the address.
-
The server is up. I only had time to put in a very basic setup. Its enough to get the concept started. This is NOT an Official Server! All skill levels are welcome. ANYONE can use this teamspeak for whatever they like. If any squads do not have a teamspeak feel free to use this one. PM or post here if you have any request or questions. If you have some kind of dispute with another player PM ME. DO NOT POST IT IN PUBLIC FORUMS. It is a violation of the terms of agreements in the DCS forums. I do not have a website so we will have to deal with it through PM. Good Luck and have a safe flight!

I want to create a Teamspeak server for all the players that love online flight but are not a part of any online squad. My current method of finding a server is to click down my favorites list in Teamspeak and ask each squad the generic “Hello, What are up to?” Sometimes I find a flight; sometimes I find lot of empty Teamspeaks. I know I’m not alone in this daily quest. I run into other squadless players. I am guilty of starting online flights with these fellow pilots to later have the real squad show up and ask us where we are flying cause there DCS server is not up. It is kind of awkward. I don’t want to sit in others teamspeak anymore. I have a vision for a teamspeak that anyone can join the lobby. From there they can choose any channel that fits what they want to do. I would have a channel for Blackshark, FC2, and A10c. From there if you find someone that wants to fly with you can go to a sub-channel and start or join a server together. I pretty much want a non squad based server for the community to join. And that’s what I plan to give. I am in the middle of setting one up for everyone to use freely. I plan on putting enough money into it for 6 months of use for 50 slots. I feel this is more than enough size for now. It can be expanded if needed. Later today I will put up an address for this teamspeak. I hope everyone can use it to help find copilots, especially the squadless pilots among us. I will need some admins for this server. If you are interested in being an admin for this server please send me a PM. I will fill you in what I will need for admins. I hope to see you all airborne soon. Krazy Server is up. Free for all to use. No password for now. Will add one if its needed. ch.teamspeak.cc:9083

Sandy Bridge Overclocking Guide
Krebs20 replied to hassata's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I got 5.3 on a 2500k. I was using the automatic overclocks from Asus and thought it was a all in one program. I hit overclock and walked away. I walked back to see where it was at. congratulatings! 5.3 at 1.5 volts! I didn't stress test that number. Instead I hit reset and set it to 4.4 manualy with stock voltage. I plan to play with it this weekend and see how far I can push it with 1.3 volts. I'm using a corsair H 70 cooler. So far my highest temp was 43degrees. and that when it did its automatic Overclock from hell. My temps in A10 have stayed at 35ish with my current OC. My lessen is that you don't run the Asus program like it knows what its doing. It doesn't. -
Can/Will ED consider reworking the way HUD is displayed
Krebs20 replied to Kuky's topic in DCS Wishlist
I'm not home and posting off my cell phone so please forgive me on this very generic reply. Look into adjusting your Feild of veiw. I can see the full his without my face chin resting on the hud. Only thing I changed was field of view. -
It was a good time. I don't think people could find it of they were looking for it. Maybe next time you should put your vent server information into the brief. Then if people wanted to join you, they could at least know where to contact you.

I've only flown light twins and single engine trainers. Keep that in mind. Electric trim in DCS seems to about spot on. In and Cherokee 160 you have the electric elevator trim or you have a wheel to trim. When flying the electric trim is great for take off and landings. When making constant speed changes. However, in cruise flight I always use the manual wheel trim. It is much more precise than the electronic button. My example being, the best I've trimmed the 160 was about a 25 +/- feet per minute with electronic trim. With manual I can get the aircraft to fly hands off without any noticeable +/-. If the winds are forgiving. In flight you are always trimming. In fact in a small aircraft you will be trimming more often then changing your throttle. It's just something you always do. In dcs A10 I'm always fighting the plane. It seems I'm +500 feet then -1000. At 1st I was much worse. Now its getting better with practice. Still have fits of 2-300 feet +/-. Remember your trimming to take pressure off your controls. Don't fly the plane with trim it it will won't work well. Fly with the yoke. So next time you fighting a climb. Don't trim 1st. Push your yoke forward to stop the climb. Get it in level flight using your yoke. Then trim. If you trim 1st, you'll just Chase your VSI up and down. I hope this helps some. Edit..... I just read the other replies and they answered it already. I need to read more than the 1st post next time.

I almost hit a bird on a downing leg runway 5 KRYV. Was looking at the runway, checking for traffic when suddenly I was starring at a Red tailed hawk. I will never forget the way it turned its head back and looked at me. I managed to yelp out bird. My flight instructor saw it right as I said bird and punched the yoke putting us into a dive. The hawk just went over the top of the left wing. I swear it was caught in the prop wash. We managed to land just fine and nothing was broke. But in a 152 at 80 knots, in traffic pattern, where 2 sets of eyes were looking for traffic. We didn't see a large hawk till the last 30 meters. I don't see how a fast jet or an airline would ever be able to dodge one like I did that day. On topic. I would like to get a Que from in game on birdstrikes. At least in the summary.

Teamspeak 3 and ventrilo are your friends. Most servers post the teamspeak information on the MOTD. I recommend you find a server with people active and on teamspeak. Every new player is welcome to the community, however if your not in teamspeak you will have a very hard time finding anyone to explain what's going on, where the enemy is, why the building killed you, how to start your engines, navigate, where the MIG 23 is locking you from, ect ect. No one likes typing it out. But I know plenty of people that will bend over backwards and tell you everything on teamspeak.

I know several people using the GTX 560ti and they have no complaints. It's a very solid card for its price. I am curious if anyone has used the new 550 yet. I would look into 2gb of video RAM not because of A10c, but for whatever ED plans to make next. If the cost is too great then 1gb will do just fine. I am in the middle of a pc build myself. My specs are practically the same. Only I'm using SSD hard drives and raid setup. I have been using 800 watt power supplies for a long time now. They tend to last a little longer. Meaning is your pulling 500 watts off a 600 watt. The power supply it will lose capacity over time. The 800 watt does the same thing, it just takes a lot longer for it to reach the point were the computer won't start. I would recommend staying with the 2500k. Dcs a10 doesn't support hyperthreading. The performance difference would minimal.

Something about an A10 doing a no fly zone enforcement doesn't sit right with me. Any recent links about what the mission is? Or has a consensus not been made yet.

Mapping several switches to one physical switch.
Krebs20 replied to dotChuckles's topic in Home Cockpits
Go to min 2:30 Heres a place to start. You could get away with putting all the Fuel switches to one Real toggle. The problem is that in game has no Boost pump on. Boost pump off command. Its just on/off as the same command. So if you set up a toggle that when its on, it will turn all four switches. When its off it switches everything again. Sync will have be backwards if you start a backwards state. Before After Sadly this didnt work. My experiment failed. It only flips the Boost pump Left wing. I know you can put as many switches to run one function as you want. (every key on your keyboard could be Fire Cannon, roll your face on keyboard when you line up tank) But running 2 functions off one key has eluded me. I hope this helps put you in the right direction. BTW If you run vista or Windows 7 and install on a different drive than your C drive. You have to find the controller profile in C:\Users\<Your USER NAME>\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Config\Input\A-10C\joystick. On my computer I installed A10 on the D drive and the file path he gives in the video only has that default game profiles that come with A10c. Not my own. -
Are you on the targets 3 or 9 clock? It's probably notching you. Or your in the wrong scan mode. Trying switching from high to med scan mode.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List

I just wanted to add something to the list that wasn't mainstream. Also the irony of building a simpit for a UAV made me smile. Will it be an F-xx plane then GGTharos? -
Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Krebs20 replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I where did "they" say that? Only thing official from ED has been a US made fixed wing aircraft. I want a quote or a link otherwise its misinformation. Theres too much of that here already.
