F-117's being phased out starting as of now.
EscCtrl replied to Pilotasso's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Theres probably more reasoning to it then simply rushing into it - maybe their finances can't cover keeping a few nighthawks any longer and seeing as they aren't a necessity they are being dumped? meh always a shame when a plane is phased out. -

I'm sure its not as easy to add these things to the game as just typing 'improve all planes FM' into the LUA script. ED said that all flyables will have AFM in future products did they not?
-
I'll try it out I guess - watched 11seconds go by on winamp and its longer then I always imagine - just in my head that sounds unrealistic but guess not.
-
That can't be real can it? sounds incredibly fast - awesome if it is though

Sit up straight! don't want a bad back - I'll post mine soon but man have you got a good chair :D mine is just a director's chair thats falling apart.

Good find! Love the way 15s and 2000s have to carry external stores, nice reminder of the size difference of these planes too.

I use it all the time - before I played FSX I never got why anyone would use it in a basic turn - then after a good session with that I instinctively used it in LOMAC and it helps smoothen your turns out a lot and makes flying exactly where you want to be a lot easier. If you haven't properly tried the MS flight simulator series give it a go because its a lot less easy to get away without things like rudder - this will help your technique with all flight sim games.

I like the way you had to put in a lot of effort to ruin that picture :P

Didn't notice that thread. thanks for the heads up

The new influx of screenshots suggests to me that release might be fairly soon? keeps the suspense up anyway :P

El Centro, US Air Show Photos (Large Image Warning)
EscCtrl replied to Arthonon's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
You certainly have a knack for taking photos- they all have an incredibly surreal level of clarity to them - saved them all to my hard drive :D -
At least we know we'll be getting Black Shark one day - they never will the way Axl is handling things. Every few months my friend will inform me of the breaking news that we are only a year away from the next album :P

I thought Su27s could fire R77s it was just that the radar or some electronic component wasn't compatible with it or that they were being upgraded to launch them soon anyway? I'd be surprised if someone went to the bother of photoshopping an image like that for the novelty of fooling has aviation fans :(

Recently I have been having trouble with my graphics card (x1900xt) as in the AA and AF keep switching off - they used to work fine but now don't work - I have both set to full or almost full on ATiTool and the Catalyst Control Centre and have an up to date driver. Today when I played LOMAC it worked fine til I got alt-tabbed out (msn switched itself on and thought it would be nice to let me see it) and then when I got back to lockon apart from the fact my plane had crashed it also switched off AA and AF. AA and AF wont work with BF2 either, although I dont have AA switched on in the BF2 menu as the CCC and ATiTool usually overide those settings. Anyone got any idea what the problem is? Thanks

Thanks for the effort you did put in You considering any other projects soon? if so keep us informed :D

I think that might have been the case with early ejection seats, but seeing as the military spend a lot of money on training their pilots up, ejection seats wouldn't be worthwhile if the pilots weren't reusable :P
-
Surely you would get that effect from general use anyway? its not as though you're going to keep this inside a glass box when its finished? (well i sure as hell hope not! :D)
-
Weather stays OUTSIDE the cockpit, hope that helps your flying career :D
-
Heh mine is definitley an X45 :P Maybe its a slightly different version that wasn't seen as significant to be given its own designation e.g. the earlier X45s were analogue and the newer; digital whatever that is supposed to imply :S - you really aren't missing much in terms of those friction locks though.

I hope I haven't made a problem out of nothing, I just want you to realise they may want a payment i.e. don't assume this will all be free. Say the right words and you could very well do it for free, emphasise the fact that they will get public attention, etc. ;) As for the modelling issues, I don't build models so don't know how to answer those but a member who might be of help is MBot - who has been adding models to the game recently.

I have several problems with mine the joystick has two alone - one can be solved with the candlewax which i'll try without opening like you said but the other will require opening as the stick has developed a larger actual deadzone (as opposed to a deadzone setup in game) The other problem is the throttle which is meant to have to friction locks/detents (not sure if thats what they are called) i.e. when you push the throttle up to 100% movement is fine, when you reach 100% power you will feel a stop in the movement to mark the end of dry thrust - push beyond this and you will use afterburners. This wore down very early on for me so maybe this happened to your stick also?

If you ever make AC4 skins for any aircraft in LOMAC don't EVER forget to upload them 'cause I'll definitely be interested! :)

Its not necessarily a matter of argument but the fact that they may wish to be paid royalties for use of their product for commercial gain. Your company intends to use the game outside of the planned 'boundaries of use' ED had anticipated for the original player. It would definitely be a good idea to ask before you put more work into this as they may say no. Otherwise you have a very interesting idea using a game for an advert :)

That solution seems more appropriate to the problem I have (never thought much about a wire issue but will bare it in mind if worse happens :S) Will probably open it up this weekend and look what might be the cause of what I described and will definitely give candlewax or similar material on the boot of the stick. Thanks As for that screw at the bottom aeroscout, I set that up the day I got it to what seemed fine then the throttle wore down the locks and since then any adjustment using that screw has had little effect - it simply determines the overall tension of the throttle and not the emphasis of the locks (if that makes sense) as in the locks are set and if they wear there is nothing that can be done short of fixing the HOTAS. Thanks anyway :)
