Try it for yourself, it's a setting commented by actual warbirds pilots, and it works quite well BTW.

New Spitfire Campaign Announcement
Ala13_ManOWar replied to Reflected's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Yeah, sorry, I meant since apparently IA climbing has changed, perhaps you would need some kind of "fix" in the campaign for the climb if one no longer needs that kind of climb to keep IA's pace. -
No mate, as you would know in short time reading these forums, DCS is never that easy of "changing a line", or "copy-pasting" anything. It's usually quite more complicated than that even when some modders manage to make some minor apparent changes using those tricks, but internally modules are quite more complicated than that and only the line change usually doesn't do the trick for devs or ED.

Yeah, I've tried warbirds and it doesn't change my point. I also learnt in a C152 and since she's such a mother one can think every plane out there is like that, but you know they aren't. I also got cleared in a C172RG for advance aircraft (you know, retractable gear, constant speed prop, cowl flaps, and all the fancy stuff) and funnily enough it doesn't feature aileron trim, only nose and rudder. How can I tell you what a nice experience is having a 3 hours cross country while holding the yoke for left aileron. I once put a friend of mine in the back right seat to compensate for it, and it flew quite nicely BTW . I guess not "every propeller aircraft flies "off-trim" after all , and before you tell, no, it couldn't be enhanced by ground crew unless you wanted the opposite nice thing of having to hold the yoke to the right at low speeds and specially while landing which would had clearly been much nicer. Still, MiG-21 doesn't feature aileron trim and… it just doesn't from factory despite ulterior modifications, what can I do about that? Remember DCS modules are a "still picture" taken at the date of the info devs could find, and even though aircraft aren't always the same and get modified during it's service life and all, we are stuck in the picture, date, and info found by devs we have. So, 1972 factory fresh MiG-21Bis doesn't feature aileron trim, the manual is clear in forbidding asymmetrical loadouts, and local, later, punctual, whatever mods simply aren't contemplated and I just don't know if we should open that path since everybody ask for their own likes and dislikes in every module so the original base aircraft is a good reference point to prevent getting lost in all the whishlists happening every day in every module. I mean, if ED or any other third party would open that can of worms you could end up having to put the ashtray in the Emil the day we have one just because once Galland did put one on it's mount and wishlists, as the name suggests, are endless so be sure someone will say it's necessary to have the infamous ashtray. Just a silly example, but you get the point. Anyhow, don't think I say no for the sake of no, like my personal opinion would matter or influence devs in any way , and if at some point we get the v2.0 of this module, as apparently we would nobody knows when, who knows what new features it could boast, perhaps updating the asymmetrical loadouts could be one of them, but for the moment I believe M3 is quite bogged down with their current WIP modules and I just don't think they even have the time to stop thinking about minor features and goodies like that.

Tienes que encender el RWR, pero si son de guía IR (infrarroja) no suena nada, lo mismo para misiles A/A que para SAMs.

New Spitfire Campaign Announcement
Ala13_ManOWar replied to Reflected's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Yep, that was said in the newsletter/changelog. Perhaps now Reflected has to "fix" the IA climb he had in his campaign to those new IA standards. -
No dates given. But, remember those cities will come to Normandy map, not Channel already featuring a portion on London.
-
When it's cold, is the radar already working? Usually you should allow couple or three minutes for the radar to warm up before it starts working.
-
Worries about what? You know it's coming, we've seen it, there are several training videos already. It's not like they will decide all of a sudden "well, we changed our minds, we're developing a Cessna 172 now, in two weeks years more info available" .

Engine breaking after 30 seconds max power.
Ala13_ManOWar replied to Gunfreak's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
They are redoing it to make it better. It can be the best you've seen in your life, unseen in any other commercial sim, and still be plenty of room for improvements . -

Ala13_ManOWar replied to Gunfreak's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
It's exactly what some are telling here about verticals and slow flying then going WEP. You get no airflow into the radiator -> engine broken. I didn't fix my car, it was a very old car, but it was actually broken for the time remaining to it, and it was only my fault due to high running for too long and then a sudden stop of the "airflow". What can't you see in the obvious parallelism? -

Ala13_ManOWar replied to Gunfreak's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Hope not!! Why would anyone want real life physics and behaviour to be changed? That's for arcades and consoles gaming, here they try not to "amend" real life mate. It always was like that, we all want it to be kept that way. -
Engine breaking after 30 seconds max power.
Ala13_ManOWar replied to Gunfreak's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Sorry to inform you, in your car it's the very same. It happened to me once by the way, came from long run in the highway and quite "sudden" got out and stopped at the lights. Temps got mad, the engine stopped and wouldn't want to start up again. When I managed to do so it could only barely run, I arrived home quite slow. After that it leaked oil like mad until I got rid of that car. Doesn't matter if it makes sense to you personally or not, it works like it works, you like it or not . -
Engine breaking after 30 seconds max power.
Ala13_ManOWar replied to Gunfreak's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
It's not counter intuitive, it makes absolute sense. High running engine means heat and you need airflow to dissipate it. No airflow -> broken engine. That's all -
I wouldn't be surprised if it does…

That's a classic indeed. Let alone if the IA a6m5 they showed up at some point isn't released together with the module, or never, "what will we do? This aeroplane is useless as is" .
-
News management policy is up for every third party alone, they probably wanted to tell people it's being done (specially when a common thread out there for this or any other module is "it's abandoned but they aren't telling us" . Understandable how they try not to tell too much, but you never know when it's really going to be ready for something more, let alone release, and plans change no matter how hard you try to please eager customers. They have to give us some news from time to time showing it's alive and coming, but real life usually gets in the middle of your plans. I wasn't recalling, but it's true they were redoing stuff not that long ago as Razor pointed out. The Mosquito 3D rework certainly took less than I would have expected, but M3 isn't ED team with regards to team numbers. I don't envy either ED or any other Third Party for the matter, if you say too much it's bad, people get excited too much, too early, too easily, but on the other hand if you tell too little just out of caution people also get nervous once they know something is going on and bad things happens either on social media. What a precarious equilibrium that is…

Will the modernized F-4E have the AIM-120?
Ala13_ManOWar replied to S. Low's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
I hope they don't, at least not any sooner than we got all the variants already "mentioned" (no promises yet), F-4E early and late (here it's settled), possible F-4J/Q/S? for a naval variant (nothing set yet), and I believe we all hope earlier variants also to come, C/D, B/N (even less settled, nothing, all void yet). Every time people ask for modernised variants (with MiG-21 it's the same) they just didn't stop thinking what that means, an old piece of junk which some countries try to keep updated in order to not expend more money with more modern aircraft they sooner or later would have to buy anyway. But they aren't competitive any more no matter how much you try to update them. You people ask for the updated variants, but you would despise them once tried since you can't compete with any more modern aircraft. Why would devs waste time and effort developing such an obviously inadequate aircraft only a bunch would buy out of a weird nostalgia but only to discover a minute later how crappy those aircraft are compared to modern ones? Let the classic variants come first and only then, when we have almost all the possible planeset done maybe, and only maybe, modernised variants could be done to fill the small gaps already left. We have now still so much room for original variants we don't have it makes absolutely no sense at all to focus on those modernised ones. Not to mention some of them are still in service and you wouldn't have the info required at all (no F-14D because it's still in service in Iran? anyone remember?). We all want things, we all talk out loud, we all daydream, but please we can also be a bit, only a bit, objective on what we can and what we cannot get yet mates. -
It's the module and everything coming with it. For starters a new WWII carrier with a quality not that far away from super carrier module, plus probably ground assets that IIRC they have shown in the past, and even AI aeroplanes (a6m5) they have also shown in the past. But only the module itself is a hell of a lot of work considering the quality they have shown it'll be. And for all of that, they're still a small team. I want it ASAP either, but a too soon release given they haven't coped with this kind of WWII modules before, could be disastrous for them bearing in mind the usual harshness some people in the community show more often than not.

@BIGNEWY@NineLine I have a problem with notifications either, I see unread forums out in Home forums, (look at DCS WWII), But when I got into the subsection I can't see those unread notifications any more (address on top), so I can't know what's new post, or not until I got into any of those one by one. Only noticed for this WWII section, but might be other ones with the same problem, not all of them though,

Yes, we all have, but once you're airborne it's obnoxious to keep the joystick off centre, but yes doable, right. But taking off, and since you have no aileron trim, it's really nasty as you can't exactly predict how aircraft will behave and prone to accidents. Hence, asymmetrical loadout is forbidden per manual. What can I do about that, go tell Mikoyan and Gurevich mate .

Funnily enough, manual states asymmetrical loadouts are forbidden, no matter what local users 50 years later do, and If you have tried something in the module (you can get asymmetrical loadout easily, just rearm on tarmac and there you go asymmetrical) you already know why it is forbidden, the aircraft flies like $h/# when asymmetrical .
