  1. By this screenie I assumed I found it yes?
  2. Speaking of that, I need to get back flying the SuperBug again, it's been a minute...
  3. No there's a slight migration back to the Ubi boards, slowly though. Now I really gotta work :)
  4. Okay okay, here's what I think. Yes STFU and instead of discussing the Pythagorean Theorum of somebody getting banned, what do you propose as a solution? Have the moderators here be more accountable? For what? From what I notice everytime about banning threads, it's the same crap same and same again "Oh he got banned because of no reason" Okay, the obvious solution, Moderators, is to start letting it be known that they're crossing the line, rather than all of a sudden warning levels appear on your profile here. Half the problem is that you don't take the time so say "Hey guy, watch yourself or you're gonna be banned/warning level will increase." That's pretty much 90% of the complaining here. While in a sense he who controls the forum controls much of the opinion, the poor masses do have a say dollar-wise, and that's what's going to hurt. Sure we can't have posters running amok legitimately out of control, but you gotta realize some of the people that got nixed, won't buy the product due to the handling of the forums, and they didn't get an explanation why (Of course obvious out of controlism needs to be stomped quick). If anything PMing the offender is better than nothing. It keeps these retarded threads from going on and on and on.
  5. http://562.50megs.com/LOMAC/Tracks/turning.zip A track I just did for some fun on some turning abilities of the Su-33. As mentioned, to get a tighter turn... you gotta almost stall, and do some other things. Unfortunately at one point I got distracted and almost crashed.. but recovery was easy. LOMAC FC 1.12
  6. Yeah... must do that often eh? :) Ahh.... I think I know maybe where you're talking about but I'll fly it just to see, as I know one mountain lake... I took during a tutorial, I think Su-25 Mountain Flying back in the day, but worth a look-see anyways :) I've flown a bit of FSX and like the fact you can get updated weather. Yes it would be great, and No I'm going to request it :)
  7. lol as much as I fly often on.. I don't even know where that is, and I've been all over the map...
  8. Well... from what I understand of the situation, they felt it was necessary. Like Ice said it's time to move on with the situation and see how it pans out. While Force Feedback in a sense seems like it is a dictatorship, then I was a Czar on the Ubi boards. There's always going to be dissension, or badmouthing a product, but it's gotten to the level not so much where we have to carry little books with ED saying it's a Great Product And Doesn't Have Faults, and march in uniform, hailing the Great Flight Sim. But it's where incessant whining and moaning about issues that cannot, or in the process of being solved. As said numerous times, it's a complex simulation. It's going to be buggy, it's life, and most people never seem to expect it. Mainly from the US, since it's a fast food culture, so they're expecting it to be fixed NOW, when they don't have the patience to realize that this takes time, and get ornery about it. ED knows of the issues, and we'll have to wait until they fix it. That's my take on the "heavy handedness" of the issue. I'm sure the ED guys could wish they could snap their fingers and viola! it's Done! It's Perfect! But it's not!
  9. Just a note from me, who still moderates the Ubi boards, is that I won't tolerate any complaining whatsoever about it. Regardless of any views, I will stress that it's an issue for them to handle through the mods here, not on the forums (I still be the only active moderator, so I'll be possessive on it) there. Wags PM'd me on the issue so I'm aware of the general situation, and really have a "no comment" stance on it.
  10. 24-bit bitmaps and that's about it, unless you have already mapped it? Or if you haven't mapped it, keep it to at least one big canvass (2048 x 2048) as much as possible, to save on RAM when flying it.
  11. I'd recommend on one hand, using some of the default textures for canopies, as more than likely a .tga file would help out.
  12. Yeah I got an old Mirage template (1024 x 1024, not for release) somewhere so I'm sure I'd be able to help out.
  13. Seriously no, it's about skill rather than the plane. Sure sometimes yes, the -33 is a beast, but the only real issue is the lower thrust to weight ratio compared to the -27, that's it.
  14. MIG-29 Templates uploaded.
  15. Nah, it's a recommendation really ;) Ahh yeah, I was really just trying to understand the situation really, so then I went off on that diatribe. Personally banning somebody for sig overuse? we can go into Hitman's case, where if he was warned a few times... yeah I can see the move to banning particularly if he ignored it. But if it was 1 time? yeah that's a little bad, but on the other hand, it's their forum, they handle it as they see fit. Moderating really is a thankless job in some sense, as you gotta be the a-hole in order to maintain some semblance of control. And sometimes, you're feelings have to be hurt, but sometimes, not necessary either. And thanks guys, still like the community even though I've been busy.
  16. Added Skin Set 1
  17. Hell I'd move to lock this topic. It's going nowhere and what's the point of it all? Granted I've been doing other things so I haven't been really too active (well okay, a little more than usual) but what I've gleaned from the Ubi board is that the mods are getting extreme... or the posters are getting extreme, so it seems really unclear (to me anyways) just what the problem is. So I guess I'll take a stab out of the dark. Lo.ru site goes down, cats and dogs start living together, and nobody is happy about it. Mods.... I think take a preemptive strike and try and quell the riots, but it excites the rioting, and here we are, Page 8 on another "Why is this?" topic. I mean I guess in retrospect it's a little of both. Nobody expected (hell I don't even ED) the site to go down, okay, the world is still turning, and gravity is still present. So in essence, I think everybody seems to be overreacting because the site was down, and nobody got information, but wanted it NOW! Mods overreacted and we are at this juncture. So in essence, we're all to blame as the small community we are, because we all want to see BS, but not have to deal with alot of bs. But nobody realizes that at it's heart, LO is a freakingly complex simulation. Back in the day, we'd find and fix a problem, then something else would mess up. And we'd be back before Square 1 even is considered. So I think the reason is, that ED is at a juncture. Getting BS stable or workable is a real pain in the ass and they've hinted at, but not overly stated it, but duh, that's why it's taking so long. So people get stupid, and think ED isn't telling all, but then again, it's a product, they don't have to, the sim market, while small, is a tight market, and ED wants to be first. So while I don't think I could look at the mods and say they're wrong, or right, or maybe it's what they feel is making the best out of a bad situation. And it just spirals out of control, and continues until somebody finally has to say STOP! But the site going down? Whoopdee doo really, I mean most of the information I get comes from here, so why is it such a big deal? Does the main site have to be the hub? Which is why there is the forums here, to facilitate the information as best as possible. We dealt with this with Lock On when it first came out, and we had the same spate of locks, deletes, bans. Matter of fact it still annoys me even though years past. From my point of view as still an active moderator on four sites, is that while the STFU attitude isn't always the best method I agree, but sometimes take a step, look at it again, before you start hammering away saying that ED is failing it's customers. And did you ever pay attention to the tags? All the moderators are currently also beta testers. Beta testing, is a royal pain in the ass. It seems cool and spiffy that you get to play with the new software, toy, etc. before everybody does, but you have to take an extroardinary amount of time to just look at EVERYTHING, from a bush looking stupid, textures, coding, programming. It's called a Fine Tooth Comb, and it can really stress you out sometimes, especially with deadlines, and oh by the way, I do have a life and job to lead too... And while people assume it's like The World is not Enough, from my experience, the only people who've done a pathetic job as far as execution was the GRAW2 MP test I participated. No direction, no accountability, just "here, play with it and we'll.. ask you about it sometime." That's pathetic. The LO team when I was part of it, is a bunch of people who nitpick every square centimeter of the sim, and it's shown through Lock On. As again, like a broken record, this simulation is so complex, is that people aren't thinking of that. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither can BS or even LO itself, ever. Sure it's annoying that it's not out, as I'm excited, but if you were in the devs shoes, how would you act any different? Or maybe more simply, the mods are getting tired of the constant complaining when realistically, they can't do anything about it, and trying their best, and its not working out right?
  18. Image Set 7 uploaded.
  19. Image Sets 5 and 6 uploaded.
  20. Image Set 4 uploaded.
  21. Another image set uploaded to the Combatace site and being uploaded to lockonfiles.
  22. An image set was uploaded. I had a lot of stuff going on, so it seems to be slowing down, so I'll get more uploaded as it goes by. I uploaded the same amount to my combatace site, and as well as now to Lockonfiles.com
  23. yeah that's a "duh" on my part... didn't think of that. I usually seem to get requests from my homepage, but definitely doing that :) Also managed to upload the tracks.
  24. I, through some asking around, have gotten permission from ThomasDWeiss to upload my old Flanker 2.51 files. Right now I can upload bits and pieces so I'm slowly updating the links to reflect files I've uploaded. I've also got another site, http://562.combatace.com which also has my files. Erik from CA got to me quicker, but will be mirrored at Lockonfiles since I can't just have ThomassDWeiss do me that favor, so it's all copasetic. Right now all are uploaded are just the main HTML files, but images, and skins (only a few tracks unfortunately) will be uploaded. But if needed, Ive started a mailing list for updates when I do get files uploaded.
