  1. And there is space for a 3080 with more memory too. (Call it super or Ti). Let´s see the street prices because at MSRP prices I don´t think there will much competition. (Just the new consoles, and I think That was the reasoning on those low MSRP prices). People will struggle trying to sell those 2080Ti on second hand, LOL.
  2. Believe me: lawyers allways win money. Even if they loose the case. You are better off on that. In any case: you allready caught the higher damage yet. You have very little chances on the same problem again but, of course, when the need arrives. And you will be better with a bigger screen, believe me. Beware yourself!
  3. You don´t have a lawsuit because you signed a contract before. Probably you have another disease if you are considered of risk on your second surgery. (If not, that was just bad luck and very difficult to repeat). At any time it will be imperative anyway. Size is your ally in that case. Forget about pixel density.
  4. Well: I´m a former Optometrist and that´s a Thing I see many people do: Buying larger TVs to improve their visuals (larger phones, etc) I´ll say the same thing to you than the one I say to my clients: You can make your image larger and benefit on that on being able to recognice better the larger images but one thing is for sure: you will continue to see the images equally blurred than before (greater in size but equally blurred). Get the point? You can buy a 4K Tv, a 8K one, but if you neglect the posibility of improve your vision (and that is the problem the 99% of the times), then you are the missing link over improving the image quality on your TV. Increasing the size allways improve visibity but there will be a size that will force you to increase resolution to increase your comfort. (And that border is not equal to everybody because it depends on the visual accuracy of that person, contrast sensitibity, etc). In most of the cases 1080p will be ok untill 27" in 16:9 aspect and at 1 meter of distance aprox. 1440 untill 38" on 21:9 aspect ratio and same distance. 4K is for really big monitors and/or lower distances. BUT: allways counting on a 100% vision. If your vision is decreased (first check your specialist and a second one too) and then: increase your monitor at a higher size than normal at equal resolution. (You can benefit from size without seeing pixels if your vision is lower than the average).
  5. Same Zen+ Cores between those two AMD procesors @Reece (one with graphics and the other without IGPU), but same CPU base, don´t let the name 3xxx or 2xxx confuse any. (Maybe diferent cache size for the GPU, but that´s in favour of the 3200G. But I´m talking on memory here). Gotcha! :smartass:
  6. If the Question here is about not wasting money, I don´t understand the improvement in the actual monocore DCS between a 3200G running at 4.0 Ghz and a 2700X running at 4.3 Ghz (That is a mere 7,5% improvement in Mhz alone and surely less on real performance). Things will be different on a multiCPU enviroment though. I´ll better save my money for the future in that case. And don´t get me wrong: I´m only trying to give you a little food for thought. That´s it.
  7. Very well thought components. Awesome build before the quarantine. If you can sell the GPU at the same price as new, I will do that and buy a new 3000 series one. And if you are going to delay a little more your build yet: I will try to endorse that build to a kind friend and refresh your rig whenever you will be back in your house. (At least: saving lives was first than DCS.... thanks for that;-)
  8. Yes: I´ve said that a couple of times before: let the dust settle down first and see what happens. New consoles, CPUs, GPUs, VR headsets, DCS core.... It´s just too much to make an anticipated decision. I will upgrade my laptop with a Tiger Lake ultrabook (or maybe wait a little to the information on the new AMD ones), but on PC desktop side: I´ll wait untill fall 2021 and 5 nm. That will be my sweet spot.
  9. Are you basing your buying decisions on a webpage called bottleneck calculator? Real world is not sinthetic. I don´t know if a 3700X is worth 100 $ more than the 2700X but don´t blame that calculator if the reality is not that perfect. I see you are having fun upgrading and that´s what is important.
  10. 3700X: 3,6 Base clock / 4,4 Ghz turbo (one core) (65W envelope) (and almost 20% more IPC per core). You are comparing the wrong way. And your Mobo will support it I think (without seeing the compatibilty list). Memory wise: I don´t know how are your frequencies right now but should´nt be a problem (ideal for Zen2 are 3200 or 3600 Mhz, but will work with anything and you better clock your memory as high as posible with your 2700X because it have high dependency on that to perform on DCS)... Less on Zen2. Anyway: I see you allready have an upgrade plan up and running so I was only trying to make sure you know what you are doing and I see that the plan is allready well thought and on the go, so the only thing I can do is wish you all the luck in the world and have as much enjoyment as posible. Upgrading is allways a matter of compromises. Good luck!
  11. I won´t go that route unless second hand bargain. And thinking on second hand: Zen3 is coming. Of course is your money, but going today on an almost two generations old CPU don´t look a good idea for me. But, again: is your money. (Just trying to find the reason). Just that. Enjoy!
  12. No: prices are growing each generation (at least on the top card)
  13. Did you mean 3700X?
  14. Think on that: twice as fast and for the same amount of money? Why Nvidia would do that? Yes: you allready explain why: because of the competition. I think Nvidia is in a hurry to sell as many cards as they can in advance of RDNA2 and then adjust the price (or give us an unexpected amount of extra performance to mantain the price... That had happened before too).
  15. I think you should check for underlaying software interferences there. Antivirus, peripherals software, any mobo or GPU instaled bloatware...... It´s not the fastest rig on earth, but you should have nearly 80-90 FPS flat screen on 1080p and mid-tuned Hi settings from what i´ve read on the forum. Maybe the gaming performance thread will be of help for you.
  16. Maybe they intend to change the Oculus home to a Horizon one in the future? That would make sense in a way.
  17. It seems many underlaying software damages DCS performance. Maybe it´s time to think why that happens. I mean: antivirus think they have to sniff what DCS does, windows pagefile interferences, GPU driver failures while trying to improve settings, old GPU shaders that worsen experience, windowed mode vs full screen mode..... DCS is the only porpouse of many people rigs but many times it seems that the system consider it malware or garbage. Has anyone tried to give DCS exe files Admin rights to run or something similar and try if that make any difference? there should be an easy way to improve system priority.
  18. I won´t expect better experience (in FPS terms) on MS2020 VR than on DCS. Time will tell.
  19. The bulkier cards with that 12 pin conector will came with one in the box. (For 2x8 pin adapter). No need to change your PSU in case you allready had enough power from it.
  20. In VR shadows are a killer feature too, in terms of FPS. You will want to kill them or let them as flat shadows. They really eat resources when things starts to complicate a little.
  21. Wait a minute: You can do all those weather and clouds with DX11? I thought Microsoft were selling the game with DX12 ultimate as reference.... So clouds on DCS are what they are because lack of improvements and not for the lack of Vulkan.... Interesting.
  22. I´m not sure yet, but people are reporting all CPU cores stressed on MS FS2020 On a multicore scenary you can jump on the new Ryzen3 when available.
  23. It may depends on the settings the user is comfortable with. Good monitor choice @Roosterfeet. There are incredible monitor offers right now!
  24. If you can wait till start of 2021, when the DCS Core must be upgraded, it will be perfect time to know the best rig config. The problem with that is that each month you will advance in 2021 brings you near to a refundation of the Pc plattform (DDR5 / PCI 5.0 / USB 4 / new CPUs and GPUs at 5 nm)...... You need to study your movement with care if you are not in a hurry. Surely not many people were aware of the MS2020 dependency on high end PCs (given the fact that they planed to bring the title to the standard Xbox). ED are not in a hurry right now but surely they were preparing their upgrades to fight with their arms. (Lots of arms indeed;-) Seeing how MS2020 strugle on flat screen, it´s normal seeing them delay the VR upgrade. They won´t be able to achieve decent performance on VR for sure. I think it will be worst than on DCS right now.
  25. https://hardzone.es/noticias/perifericos/xiaomi-mi-34-monitor-gaming/ There are incredible offers on low cost 34" curved monitors. As said above: you can allways downscale to 1080p (vertical) I won´t buy anything less than that (and a G2 Vr headset when you can upgrade. Prepare for the future on advance. Just that).
