That is why I tend to turn the Radar to off right before engaging NWS to HI. But it could actually be a correct behavior. Have a look at this and watch the left DDI ( So far the frame rate differences between GoPro and DDI allow it ) But you can see the lock: https://youtu.be/KEKDSTgDR2M?t=900 Wondering by myself that the one that got locked perhaps is annoyed by the buddy spike.

Always cold start, never used auto start.

Right, that´s the way to do it. I often set multiple trigger zones of different sizes with scenery destruction. You can also set the amount of destruction from 0-100%. So multiple trigger zones with different destruction levels. Then spread some smoke and/or fire effects on top of it and you have a "nice" looking scenery.

Just to take the roll of the annoying know-it-all, it wasn´t CDR Fravor who did the recording :detective:

Noticed the same. For example the TGP view starts to render at aroundish 43 nm. Only from around 25 nm the Warehouses at an airfield started to render. I could watch them slowly grew out of the ground. I think they are aware that they kinda built something "too heavy" with the amount of detail on this map and this is the compromise to not run at 1 fps..

Yeah seems to be the case for all stadiums. Set a few targets within a stadium and they were not visible, but they actually were under the visible layer.

Yeah sure, both. All of the missing things. i am totally with you there. Of course Afrin needs to be on the map. I aware of that they said Cyprus will not be there on release and the maybe later thing. I don´t wanna be one of the all day long complainers (really love the map), but to exclude (even if maybe only on launch) a whole landmass (big island/ a whole country) that is only around 50 nm of the shore of Syria (the main country in the middle of the map) is just kinda of a no go.

[CURRENTLY IN EARLY ACCESS]Is Syria map complete?
Andartu replied to maxTRX's topic in DCS: Syria Map
This! The map is really great and I appreciate the work on it. But as said hundreds of times already.. Cyprus is really in the need to be implemented. I really don´t get why it was not there from start. The same with Bahrain on the PG map. I get that it is more work. But you really cannot exclude a whole landmass when you want to build a realistic map. At least put it in even if it is not detailed, without towns and airports and complete it step by step with upcoming updates. I would be totally fine with that. But not putting it in at all is insane. It´s just around 55 nm off the Syrian coast.. :book: -
Then in the first place they need to get rid of the silly "auto disconnect" when fully refueled. I know it is not realistic to get refueled to max most of the times. With that being said aside.. it would be nice to order a certain amount of fuel beforehand with several options via the F10 menu (also not realistic but would be nice), so say 2000 lb for example. I don´t know why that auto disconnect mechanic with probe/drogue exists at all (maybe just a copy/paste from the boom mechanic where it is more realistic). With what is it like now we would have an instant crash with the basket (when it would have collusion) after disconnecting and being just 2 foot ahead of its resting position. When we are filled up just let us disconnect by ourselves via falling back. :joystick: At least with the probe/drogue Navy variant which is the subject here.

Thanks for sharing, very interesting read

Normally I don´t like these posts like "I don´t have the problem" without any further explanation, cause they are highly useless to the person that has the problem. But here you go: I tested it. No track, no vid sorry. But I cannot reproduce this. My waves/sea move/s as intended, no matter the direction I taxi on the deck.

I really dunno what some guys have for strange problems sometimes. You cannot have a different system/Sim/aircraft than I have.. I read these things so often in here or on reddit. I don´t want to be rude really, I want to help! It is not my intention to be offensive ok. But the first thing you have to ask yourself when something is not working from that you think its supposed to be to work is: "What I am doing wrong?" And not to blame the system in the first thought or thinking it is a bug (yes there are a lot of bugs I know). And that means that you really need to read deep into the thing. At first NATOPS, then look if it is modeled in DCS, then do it precisely the way it is described via the official manual and/or chucks guide and/or everything that is available. So after this, when all of this is excluded, and it still does not work, THEN you can think about a bug. There is a reason why this thing is called "study level sim". What I want to say is: Do it right, IF you have the intention to do it right. I don´t get why people come to DCS and approach with an "arcadish" manner. I don´t want to blame OP to be like that, just saying. Again, not by any means this is meant offensive. So sorry, back to topic (not only answering OP, also the other posts to this point): -Of course you can hold a bank angle in BALT only. -Of course you can engage BALT and ATTH at the same time. -The Hog´s AP is simply different to the Hornets AP. -ATTH means attitude NOT altitude hold. Offical actual DCS F/A-18C Manual: ATTH: Attitude hold mode is selected. Attitude hold is engaged by pressing the option pushbutton next to the option display window displaying ATTH. Engagement is indicated by a colon in the ATTH option window. Currently the aircraft maintains the existing pitch and roll attitude. BALT: Barometric altitude hold mode is selected. To establish barometric altitude hold, press the button next to the option display window displaying BALT. The existing barometric altitude at time of engagement is captured and maintained. Heading or attitude hold is maintained, depending upon which mode was previously engaged. The operating range is 0 to 70,000 feet. ATTH or HSEL can be selected with BALT to provide lateral control. Also (even its not part of the thread): HSEL: Heading select mode is selected. To establish heading select mode, select the desired heading on the HSI display by using the heading set switch, located to the left of the center DDI. Press the button next to the option display window displaying HSEL. The aircraft turns from existing heading through the smallest angle to the selected heading. Heading hold is reestablished after the selected heading is captured. Existing pitch attitude is maintained. RALT: Radar altitude hold mode is selected. To establish radar altitude hold, press the pushbutton next to the option display window displaying RALT. Engagement is indicated by a colon appearing in the window next to RALT. The existing radar altitude is maintained upon engagement. Radar altitude hold coverage is from 0 to 5,000 feet. If no other mode is selected, the lateral axis control remains in heading hold. In this configuration, roll trim switch can be utilized with automatic turn coordination up to 45° with altitude maintained. ATTH or HSEL can be selected with RALT to provide lateral control. Aside from that, there is a bug currently that appears sometimes (in my case at least) when you press BALT, the autopilot engages but the colon does not appear. Don´t know if that is reported already though. So I rarely use ATTH actually cause BALT alone also holds my bank angle. Sorry for the wall of text and all they typos that may be in it :book:

[REPORTED EARLIER] Refueling Probe Light Issues
Andartu replied to Jself's topic in Bugs and Problems
Sadly this is another now "old" issue. The light is actually on when you have a look via external camera. But it is not illuminating other surfaces. In my case at least it does actually reflects on the drogue but only when there is daylight. At night it is just like a small useless candlelight. Its just like it works contrary to what its supposed to do day/night wise.. -
Erm.. why do you think the US Navy does not operate in the Persian Gulf? Have a look at this for example..

+1 and yes trigger zones in different shapes..

This +1000! So all I talk about here is meant for single player for now. MP might be another side of the medal though. There are 16 parking locations (+4 with the cats) on the SC as you can see in the actual manual on page 83. So why for gods sake we cannot choose on which position we can place Player/Client and AI like at a normal airfield???? It is so annoying to always spawn in the middle of the deck (position 1 by the manual). You simply cannot place AI (more than 3 with cold start on ramp) cause they will crash taxi into you when they want to reach cats 1+2. :joystick: At least if it is for whatever reason so hard to implement, make the stock spawn position for Player (so in SP mode) position 5 or 6 and not in the middle of the deck. :pilotfly:
