Thanks. Insurgent assets are key to me for now. There is some work on what I have in mind by some good humans:
We also need some drones - at least US, Russian, Chinese, Iranian and Turkish in that order! Ditto shore-based anti-ship missiles.
Been somewhat following this discussion. I'm just going to say acutely:
a) We need more assets in DCS, period.
b) There should be a way for folks to get the assets for the missions. Every mission I write will have a readme w/ links to the assets.
c) If the player is not up to downloading the assets pack and/or add-ons for the mission, then no mission. The assets packs and add-ons exist for a reason, to tell a more dynamic story.
Well @LetMePickThat and @Strigoi_dk you are heroes! This is the #1 need of the Syria map.
I wish we could have a more modern Toyota HiLux also because that's what IS-S used, but otherwise this is so needed. I know a major DCS campaign maker in @baltic_dragon could very much use this in an upcoming campaign.
Thank you again!!!
I found this under shapes and my eyes are wide open. I tried to find the objects in Mission Planner, flailed and failed.:
Also under textures...
I hope this means what I think it means...
Well I am all for shelling out $15-25 to keep it real. I know there's a competing game of sorts that some on some other website have kept crawling along that has many more assets but nowhere near the graphics and realism.
I just also know that the Syria map lacks much in realistic targets. I'd feel the same way if we put the current available objects over... say Korea where we'd need credible NK missile sites & some South Korean kit. Or Afghanistan where many of these assets I requested would be quite relevant.
Thanks, I can see the Su-75 Checkmate in the hands of many "rogue nations" like North Korea, Iran, Abkhazia, Syria, and yes Russia. Great replacement for the MiG 21 + MiG 23 + MiG 29 + Mirage at the likely price point.
Any hope @Admiral189 of seeing an Admiral Grigorovich/Krivak IV ply the Black Sea one day? Thanks!
That said, keep the ships coming. Thanks! Really like what you've done with the amphibs!
I love the idea of bringing in a F-111 that can also if possible fire SRAMs and drop B61s. A real Cold War warrior.
But the F-111 was also the ultimate precision sledgehammer in the 1980s and Persian Gulf War. It also starred in a few Dale Brown novels!
Thanks for getting these First Responder vehicles into the sim. But I get this message upon firing up DCS World Open Beta:
The following DLCs are not authorized and will be
disabled:
Peugeot Boxer Ambulance
EDIT: I put them in the wrong folder, hence the above message. The correct one is: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech where C is your primary drive.
Exciting @ChillNG. I have a few hopes for this campaign and definitely want to help you sell this...
a) Hoping for some Toyota Hilux ISIS technicals to whack... and I admit it be sweet to shoot down a drone too.
b) The damn parking at some of these airbases in Syria like Assad International/Khmeimim Air Base and a few others fixed.
c) The options of a Russian aircraft and F-16 and A-10C spin-offs
Just a few hopes. No pressure.
1) Thanks for the support everyone.
2) What's needed for the MP world is the means to download the corresponding free third party gear to support the complex missions. Also a respectful attitude.
Be nice to have a small assets pack...
We need among other things:
Toyota Hilux trucks that look like ISIS
Toyota Hilux trucks with AA guns and AK-47s in the back
Trucks w/ .50 cal guns on them
Suicide trucks
US MRAPs - preferably armed
More buildings that look like ISIS bunkers
Bayraktar TB2 combat drone of Turkey
Orlan-10 Russian drone
Iranian IRGC Shahed 129 combat drone
Figure this should add some realism... and most of these assets can be used on other maps too.
