  1. To me then it appears all is well, as I wouldn't expect any steer bars due to daytime low wind conditions - so runway ILS would have been turned off - hence the flags. Thanks.
  2. After some feedback as to whether my ILS is working properly or not? I was returning into Senaki - day sortie, contacted ATC who directed to use runway 09, with windspeed of 3 m/s - so expecting ILS to be off. Dialled in the TACAN and ILS frequencies and turned both systems on via their respective control panels. ILS and TACAN were then both selected to on in the NMSP (not sure whether that is 'allowable' but seems to work OK). As expected I had no steer bars on the ADI but did have the warning flags, but then selected ILS off on the NMSP - at which point the vertical steerbar appeared and the flags disappeared. Is this correct as cannot recall this happening before - but could be wrong?
  3. Hi @Oddball52, as I think Bossco alludes to in his post, it may be worth investigating a separate boot drive - I have a separate M2 drive for Windows, Office and such like, another M2 for DCS only, and then a further SSD for all other games. It might be seen as total overkill - but I like to be able to separate things out if they start going wrong. In addition - just so you are aware - the drive you are looking at has cooling fins on the top (I think) - so you wont be able to refit the M2 slot 'lid'. I have an Asus Rog, and the M2s are fed by a cooling fan which pushes air through the M2 chamber - so not sure how this would affect the cooling of the drives with a built in heat sink - I am guessing not by much - and sure someone will chip in if there are any adverse affects?
  4. Thanks @The_Nephilim - advice well received. Managed to get a small USB switching unit through Amazon - more of a KM switch without the V - which works just fine as the V wasn't needed. Just now trying to track down a decent powered USB hub. One more question different subject - contemplating getting the TM MFDs - are they worth it?
  5. Hi All, After some help and/or advice if possible. I am looking to purchase a KVM/Switch unit so I can use my keyboard and mouse both on my personal PC with DCS installed, and also on my laptop sat on a docking station. Both the PC and the laptop will have a separate monitor, so graphics capability won't be needed. From what I can see I can get a reasonably priced unit that will allow me to hook up my keyboard/mouse and up to 2 more peripherals, and then output it to both my PC and my docking station - obviously used at different times. Questions are: 1. Is it as easy and straightforward as it appears to be? Is there any lag when using? 2. Any suggestions or experience as to a decent reliable unit - looked on Amazon and there are so many I am not sure what is good/not good? 3. In addition I am also contemplating using a powered USB hub for my DCS setup - as I am running out of USB ports on my PC - for my TM Warthog and Pedals. Will this solution work ok or is it best to keep them plugged in to the PC direct? Thanks for any help in advance...
  6. @Yurgon 37T did the trick very nicely. I cannot replicate what I did - I think I may have 'released' the other flight into action after the initial start up cue to do something with the radio using F10 - so were rolling in when I was still trying to figure which way was up. Either way all seems to be now working as advertised - thanks.
  7. Thanks @Yurgon - all comments noted. Once 'aloft' again I will see what I can get...
  8. I have just 'upgraded' the single missions to A10C2 by opening up the missions in ME, and selecting A10c2 and an appropriate loadout - but not sure if they are working correctly. I had an issue with a mission - possibly 'Shooting Gallery'- that involves JTAC support. The 9 line co-ordinates seem messed up, in that if I create a waypoint from them the target is around 80 - 90 miles away. Then after around 30 seconds the target is reported as destroyed with an abort message. If I offer support again the same re-occurs. I watched the map after getting a 9 line, and sure enough a missile seemingly appears out of nowhere and takes the target out. I see here DCSW A-10c - Single Player Missions (Patch for game) (v2.55x) (digitalcombatsimulator.com) Maddog uploaded new mission files for 2.5 as they were broken - does that still stand for 2.7 or are they all now working correctly?
  9. I have the original training qualification campaign modules (Maple Flag), and have commenced the Basic Aircraft Training - which I am finding quite tedious to be honest, hopefully the advanced and tactical will be better. It is almost that you need to trained and competent before embarking on them - so more of a test of what you know already rather than training as such. As I posted elsewhere sometime last year I found the inbuilt training missions good for basic understanding, walking you gently through various systems and selections with nothing too manic, then branched out from there re-running them a few times to make them a bit more 'second nature'. I then set up my own 'simple' missions to practice with navigation, instruments, weapons, start ups, shut downs etc, gradually introducing longer nav runs to target, multiple targets, air defence and so on... That aside I have just purchased the Iron Flag module as the description sounds interesting...
  10. Think this is still a bit 'iffy' - though haven't checked lately. By all accounts to be fixed in a forthcoming update...
  11. Agree with mastersetter. Do the built in training missions - run each one a few times so things start becoming second nature. As some point during those missions you will be looking for more - which is when I got my head into the books, and to be honest the forums are pretty good if you cannot find a specific command or way of doing things. Additionally look at setting up your own simple missions - be it navex, weapons training, landings etc with varying weather and time of day - which will give you the opportunity to learn specific systems without any pressure. Also - remember 'active pause' on such missions - so everything halts but you can still set weapons up, see what you can/cannot do re target acquisition and generally have a play - which when learning for the first time is pretty handy (don't use it if you have SAM or suchlike in the vicinity - they will still shoot and kill!).
  12. What are your advanced power settings on? I had this problem after building a new PC (3070 and 32gb) and found that with my advanced power settings set to balanced I had this issue, when I set them to high the frequent 'dips' disappeared.
  13. To be honest I like it. Gives you a training ground feeling before going 'in theatre'.
  14. To be honest I found the inbuilt training missions good for basic understanding of systems, then branched out from there re-running them a few times to make them a bit more 'second nature'. Then set up my own missions in Nevada to practice with navigation, instruments, weapons, start ups, shut downs etc I have the training qualification campaign modules, and have commenced the Basic Aircraft Training - which I am finding quite tedious to be honest, hopefully the advanced and tactical will be better.
  15. What is your PC power setting at? I had similar issues after building a new PC, whereby the FPS would drop like a stone every few seconds. Windows Advanced power settings were set to balanced. Set it to high and the regular FPS drops vanished.
  16. To get a better idea on whether it is playable, maybe worth posting the PC specs - CPU, GPU, Ram and Hard Drive. Look here for system requirements: DCS World 2.7 (digitalcombatsimulator.com)
  17. Still not seeing it...
  18. I had similar, and managed to fully eliminate it by setting MSAA to x4 and SSAA to x2, but obviously this then drops the FPS quite dramatically - especially if flying in the Marianas, but fine for the Caucasus and PG. As a compromise I dropped SSAA to Off, left MSAA at x4 and then in the Nvidia settings played around with the Anti-Aliasing transparency setting - which seemed to help (or maybe just experiencing a wishful thinking effect!). The only other thing I have in Nvidia Control Panel from default settings is the power management mode set to Prefer Maximum. I have very similar settings to ours, albeit I have Lens Effects off, VSync Off and Full Screen On.
  19. Many thanks @Caldera. Have been getting used to head tracking so 'sort of forgot' about the zoom function. I like the gun stab, but I also have issues with target fixation whereby I tend to drive my hog into the target... Gotta love the beast and its nuances! On a different note seen yours and others posts re the TGP FLIR/optics - TBH I don't have any major issues. If things are a bit unclear I find if I cycle through BHOT/WHOT a few times it sorts itself out, failing that reposition, BS the TGP and re-slave to target, and for the most part all is good. Cheers!
  20. As a guess, think this may be due to aircraft speed. Try slowing to a lower speed. You're hitting 367 kts in a 27o dive so only going to get faster? Just been running some test/trials of CCRP CBU97s with different burst heights in Nevada, and noticed my CCRP steer/glide line was at an 'odd' angle. Checked speed, and was down to around 150 kts (throttled back to give time to set weapons up). Increased speed and as I did so the line went vertical allowing a successful release.
  21. Yep - and it still isn't brilliant in terms of FPS. If I keep my 'normal' graphic settings whereby I get around 80-110 FPS on most maps, for the Marianas this drops to between 35 - 60 - quite a drop.
  22. Appears to be working fine on A10C2. Just ran a test mission in Nevada, set up 4 columns of tanks (x11) with default spacing and targeted tank 6 on each run, then set 4 differing altitudes of burst. 300 (pointless - too low - nothing dispensed), 1500 (hit complete column), 1800 (default - missed 1st 2 tanks) and 3000 (far too high and drifted off course).
  23. Not getting any cloud jitter using latest stable (offline) with DelanClip - that I can see anyway. Did get a lot of graphical jitter previously but that was due to my head track set up - once I played with the curves it was fine.
  24. Ok - so is that a static point, or dynamic?
