  1. Just built a new system with a 5600x AMD CPU, 3070 GPU and 32 GB Ram. DCS on SSD. No Vsync, everything at high/Ultra, and all Nvidia control panel settings at default - normally get 80 - 120 FPS.
  2. Buy a large (2TB) SATA SSD - something like a Samsung 870 EVO 2TB 2.5" SATA III SSD and move/install your sims to that - don't think you will notice any major differences.
  3. If of any use to anyone UK based looking for a new GPU - appears CCL Computing has had a large drop of GPUs - both AMD and Nvidia. Hopefully not breaking any rules putting the word out.
  4. Yep - just got back into it this year after playing it years ago when it was in its infancy, and then only dabbling over the last few years - never finding the time to learn an aircraft fully apart from the original Black Shark. Still have the disc version of Black Shark plus hard copy manual!
  5. If you have a 'spare' drive you should be able to copy and paste your DCS folder from your C drive to another. Your Saved Game/DCS folder would remain on the C Drive, but the relationships between the two folders should stay the same. Running DCS on a dedicated SSD for ease of management, with a backup of the Saved Game folder on the SSD to be on the safeside.
  6. Built a new system 2 months ago and used a 5600X, coupled with a Asus X570-F MoBo, 32gb RAM and a MSI 3070 GPU. After a bit of tweaking - mainly power settings rather than Nvidia or DCS - everything cranked up and all is smooth - hitting between 80 - 120 FPS - though using head tracking as opposed to VR - so not sure how that translates? Have always used AMD CPUs over Intel - just seem more resilient.
  7. Nope - not that I can think of - fixed range. Not sure what you mean by 'locks to the target late'? Never had any problems - once a target is locked by the TGP and set as SPI, then all other sensors slaved should be a simple case of selecting Mav as SOI, TMS up and release. Maybe create a simple training mission with a couple of targets and no SAM involvement to get the process nailed and see what is achievable?
  8. Look here: Some activation problems (digitalcombatsimulator.com) You no longer need to de-activate/re-activate. One additional comment - do not use 'Instant Action' to test/tweak settings - always create a mission - that way you can start in the same position every time so can see what effects the changes you are making are having in game against the same conditions/scenery etc.
  9. Think you need to acknowledge the message and 'Wilco' on the TAD - a lot of which I normally forget to do. Though saying that I have a practice mission set up with 2 separate JTACS - one spotting some tanks and the other spotting a mixture of BMPs and infantry. The JTAC spotting the tanks briefs no mark and an X does not appear, whereas the JTAC spotting the BMP/Inf shows a red X. The 'tank' JTAC is further away from his target than the other one - so not sure whether it is range orientated (danger close) from JTAC to target?
  10. Oh please no! More concerned with impact area, targets, current threat assessment to name but a few (and FPS) rather than watch some bubbles in a ball!
  11. There is a warning on the release notes: DCS World 2.5 Changelog and Updates of Open Beta - Page 6 - Official Updates - ED Forums (eagle.ru) 'Known issues: SSAA 1.5 creates problems with clouds, please use SSAA 2.0 or disable for now. Thank you'
  12. OK - just back from 'messing about' swapping between stable and beta. First question - have you purchased and installed A10C2? The reasons for the question is that the mission appears to be set to 'fly' a C2 model. Went into 2.7 - training - mission 5 Navigation - opened no problems - started sat in cockpit with brief ongoing. Selected external view, no problems, F1 - back in the seat. Back to F2 - whoa...no PavePenny Pod!? Closed mission - started it up again - same. Watched the mission launch as it loaded - had the C2 graphic (side view of a A10) and not the C (front view with flames) and C2 was displayed above the load bar. Went into 2.5 - same as above. Opened mission 4 and 6 - all good with an A10C. Easy fix though. Located the training mission folder for the A10C in the main DCS folder, copied and pasted it into my Saved Games mission folder (otherwise you cannot see it in the mission editor) - opened it in Mission Editor - sure enough - aircraft type set to A10C2. Changed it back to A10C, saved, copied and then pasted it back into original training mission A10C folder. Re-opened 2.7, training, Navigation - aircraft now A10C. I hope that helps?
  13. In Stable or Beta? Will take a look and get back to you.
  14. Are you flying with a TGP? If so at range locate and identify target with TGP and lock it up - TMS up long to set it as SPI. With Mavericks on line China Hat fwd long to slave all sensors to SPI. If flying towards the target this should slave the Mav seeker to the target. If you have Mavs selected on the LH MFD you should see the mav seeker cross move. Once on range select Mavs as SOI, push TMS forward short and you should see the cross start to blink. Release weapon. Apologies if the above is already known.
  15. Not sure if you have this cracked? If you press and hold OSB14 on the right hand screen for a few seconds the MFD will allow you to select the OSB function, as all the functions will appear. Push the Mav button and it will then show at OSB 14 on the 'front page'. This then will allow you to push OSB 14 when prompted triggering the training to continue.
  16. I believe the 'good ole days' of module activation have now gone by the wayside - so once you log in you will be fine. No need to activate/de-activate etc. Additionally DCS installs as 'standalone' - so as the above suggestions state just move your M2 drive across, and also your Saved Games - although I would open up the 'Saved Games' folder on old PC and copy your DCS folder to your M2 (good practice anyway to have a backup), then once back up and running copy/paste it back into your new Saved Game folder. Don't try to copy and paste the Saved Games folder (top level) in case it screws with any permissions. One last thing - always copy and paste - DO NOT drag and drop - this can cause general file access issues Edit - assuming you are a direct DCS user and not via Steam..?
  17. Found best way to get around this is to push into a dive then activate 'live pause' - so the training mission continues to run and you can still select cockpit switches etc...
  18. Mine doesn't! Can manage to break the undercarriage on most landings and conditions!
  19. Having only just got into head tracking I would not even pretend to know what that is?
  20. OK - appears this happens in 2.5 as well, and only on the Nevada or Gulf maps. Have attached a couple of tracks from 2.5. When viewing a track showing the same from 2.7 it displayed correctly? NevNite 256.trk PGNite 256.trk
  21. Tried installing latest MB BIOS? Also cannot remember if there is a USB setting in the BIOS though may be worth a look. Have you tried setting advanced power settings to high and not balanced.
  22. Still getting the same in Nevada - and the opposite in other maps. Shut down and restarted DCS. Created/started a night mission in the Persian Gulf - getting the opposite! So aircraft positioned in a floodlit position on a runway unknown (apologies - was a quick check). Tarmac now lit up - A10C2 all in blackness. Will do some more thorough testing and report back when I have a bit more time.
  23. Me on the ramp at Tonapah - all bright: Around 10 seconds later: This is first night mission after starting DCS. If I exit the mission then restart it - no floodlight affect.
