  1. Expecting a developer to a „cater“ to a function >> form crowd is equally narrow minded as expecting them to cater to a form >> function crowd. And the notion that the visual standards set by modern DCS modules (ED and 3rd) party doesn’t matter as a reference is somewhat silly tbh. I assume that a lot of (probably most) people are interested in both. It is also valid to point out some obvious shortcomings of the module in the current state. Visual and otherwise. The fuzz some people make out of it is just completely out of proportion imho. If people would just state their feedback in a factual way and stay away from attacking the developers or assume careless or malicious intend, I‘m sure the developers would happily improve their product as suggested and as resources allow……
  2. I see
  3. I recognise Wilma from Buck Rogers, but where is Nikita from?
  4. Probably a fluke in the telemetry sent by DCS. Maybe worth a bug report.
  5. Some older aircraft have a real long idle time after pulling the trigger before the first round actually goes off. Maybe the telemetry sent doesn’t take that into account?
  6. Not perfect (missing downwash), but looks good all in all. (to be fair, no helicopter in DCS so far (as I'm aware of) simulates rotor downwash on rain drops. And tbh I don't even know, how that would suppose to look irl!)
  7. @VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Does it blow away when you pick up speed? (Or even better, when you pull collective - that would be awesome)
  8. Funny thing is, when you use TelemFFB with the Rhino, you don't even notice that the FFB implementation of the Chinook is missing or incomplete. That is the beauty of it - all effects work perfectly uniformly throughout all modules. Of course that doesn't benefit users of other devices or free ED from delivering a proper integration.
  9. that's a little bit exaggerated, don't you think? Plenty of things that could be improved in the Kiowa (mainly sounds for me), but the visuals are the least of my concerns.
  10. Puh, I thought it was just me........
  11. I think I read somewhere, that classic black text on a bright background is actually easier on the eyes. Dunno. However, getting blasted in the face in the evening or at night by a bright screen is really uncomfortable to me, so I do prefer dark mode as well.
  12. Dude, the forum has dark mode for years….
Also indicator rechts, rechtes Pedal, Indikator links, linkes Pedal.
  14. That explains why I couldn’t find the safety pins! Next time I run into an issue I will save a track.
  15. Sorry, when I tried to replicate the issue it worked. Wonder if it has to do with the arming pf the ejection seats, because this item was grayed out and honestly I have no idea how to arm them….
  16. No, sorry. I will try to reproduce the issue later, when I‘m home again.
  17. I have an issue with a training mission. (Taxi and Take off). After the completion of the before takeoff checklist, the script doesn’t respond to the spacebar anymore. It asks for it but doesn’t progress after pressing it. (and doesn’t acknowledge it)
  18. I think so, but the action moved from here to their discord. The invitation link is here in the thread somewhere.
  19. Checking the default button bind for mirrors (most often „m“) and/or checking of mirrors are disabled in the game settings are the two things that come to my mind.
  20. Looks like a RC scale model to me.
  21. The voltage spikes can be very short, depending on the polling rate of the monitoring software, it may sometimes pick them up or not. At least this is my guess.
  22. we‘re getting a bit off topic here…..
  23. In a flight sim? I'd rather have a livery editor.
  24. Don't give it too much weight. I didn't mean to give a proper deep analysis of the past "whatever" years, but just my general perception of what Intel did and didn't. I mean you can't deny, that they at least two times just increased power consumption and clock and counted it a new generation. In my(!) perception the innovations on Intels side are sparse and mostly driven by the competitors catching up and stealing market shares. A sleeping giant got startled so to say. Also, AMD isn't safe from dropping the ball either, is it? Judging from the latest reviews of the new 9000 series, the advancements seem not that impressive.
  25. Well I literally started the whole rant with the specification of a ~10 year (give or take) time frame. But let’s stop nitpicking. I think my message is clear. And that is just my personal opinion. Nothing written in blood. And just in case: I‘m in no way, shape or form giving anybody that drives an Intel a hard time. In fact, when I retired the 4790, it was basically a coin toss between Intel and AMD. Could easily be the other way round and I would probably have been stuck on the Intel road until today. It is just that, following the events since then, I‘m quite happy with my choice. And right NOW, I certainly won’t switch back. We‘ll talk again in two years or so…..
