Yesterday mine started doing the same thing (or what I'm interpreting to be happening with yours). I tightened the two lowest screws on the stick and the problem was solved.

NEED ASSISTANCE WILL PAY
GoodHope replied to Bravohorn1's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
I can't really offer help, but I'll offer some encouragement. I'm similar to you in age (59) and tinkering with computers not quite as long and I've been at DCS for about a yearish. My encouragement would be to stick with it and don't get frustrated--DCS is incredibly expensive in time and hardware, but the payoff is enjoyment several fold. Between YouTube and this forum (along with some luck) I've been able to solve (mostly) every issue I've had and I'm thankful for it because DCS gives back more than I've put into it. -
Which Xbox controller for the Apache?
GoodHope replied to sobe's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I went with this one and I've been using it with the Gaz--it works well. My only complaint is that I wish I could figure out how to change the two triggers from axis to buttons. MS has an app where you can change buttons and flip axis and such, but I don't see a way to change them to buttons. Sorry, not trying to hijack your thread, but to me it is an important point. I'm wondering if a playstation controller wouldn't have that issue. -
It was discussed some in this thread. Feedback was that the current state is close to how it is.

I've had TM Warthog setup, then went VKB stick which was a huge upgrade, but since have gone all VIRPIL. Don't see myself ever going back to anything else--Virpil all the way.

My feedback : Excellent campaign
GoodHope replied to fylzz's topic in A-10C Operation Persian Freedom Campaign
I just want to add my thanks for this campaign as well. I just finished mission 3 last night and I'm already really loving this. The "break the fourth wall" discussion option is a nice touch and actually had me laughing. Well done to all involved with this and I'm really hoping you're not done with A10 campaigns--any future A10 campaign would be a first day buy for me! -
I like the clouds in 2.7, but miss the weather from 2.5.

What @ShaunXsaid... I'm not going to bore you with all the details, but suffice it to say I had sworn off VR until I finally, FINALLY I got my G2 tuned using Speed of Heat's guide and the universal shader. I can now look sideways without seeing smeared vibrating doubles. Everything is silky smooth, stunning and absolutely brilliant. Every aggravating hair pulling second was worth it tenfold.

I've owned TM Warthog, VKB, and a Virpil stick (WarBRD with ALPHA grip). Can't see myself ever going with anything but Virpil from now on. The VKB is a close second, but both the VKB and the Virpil are way out in front of the Warhog.

Have you seen it raining in the sim? I'm sure you have as have I, but anecdotally it isn't the same. I haven't done a systematic test, but I don't believe that precipitation is the same as 2.5. There are much bigger things to work so not expecting a change.

Count me among those who very much miss it.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be curt, but as someone who has one level of cervical fusion I'm happy to sacrifice realism in this case.
-
Thanks Flappie--the standard DCS set for themselves is realism and to be as close to RL as possible, so it is what it is. Chain_1 mentioned above that receivers are always asking to have them turned up even when they're already set as bright as they can be. Anyway, appreciate you looking at it and all your work!

Hi Flappie, I've attached a couple of screenshots. I can make out the left side director light pretty easily, but the right is (for me) near impossible to make out. I'm flying on a larger size monitor (49") and I'm not sure if that matters, but even zoomed in (second shot) I can't see them. I've been on a 32" before and couldn't see them then either.

@Chain_1Man, I'm an old guy--I retired in 05. Beale 80-84 and Robins 85-98 (yep 13 years). Left maintenance ~98 for the operations side (C2)--Barksdale 99-01, Misawa 01-04, Altus 04-05.

Man I wish I was having the same experience, although I'm not flying in VR. One of the posters in my other thread is a RL receiver trainer and said the real world PDI lights are dim. Kinda wish they'd give us an option to have an overlay (like the iflols overlay for the carrier) for the PDI lights.

to the owners of Reverb G2 and Valve Index...
GoodHope replied to MrFlatfoot's topic in Virtual Reality
My thoughts pretty much mirror yours so mine will also be going back. Inside the cockpit looked very nice and the edges weren't blurry, but other than that it just didn't give the same depth that the G2 gave. -

Oh for Christ's sake--so you can post vaguely misleading information somewhere as long as you posted the helpful information elsewhere? Let Don answer for himself. -
Well thanks for all the replies guys. Good to know it's not just my color-blind self. Eagle Dynamics does an amazing job of chasing accuracy, but this is one area where I would welcome it not being accurate. @Chain_1good to see another AF brother--I maintained 135s and I love getting to see them from a receivers point of view.

I just found this thread--I made a post about the PDI lights in the F-16 forum just a few minutes ago because I can't see the freaking things at all.
-
Does anyone else have problems seeing the right PDI lights when refueling--the lights that direct you forward or aft? I can't see them--at all. I'm color blind so maybe that is part of the problem, but I can't see the damn things at all and really wish I could.
