Sometimes to me it seems that were buying projects, wip's beta testing and folks have come to accept that as ok. I don't like a lot of the issues but I'm just holding on to my $ for awhile to see how this turns out, I'm definitely not getting anymore modules until there's something to do in the new world other then fly around and look at the pretty scenery at least for the KA50. Sure there are a couple of converted ones but the entire caucuses is gone.

Well I decided to quit investing and shelve DCS world 2 and BS2 for the time being. I bought BS2 because I had BS1 since it first came out and enjoyed playing the Caucasus campaigns very much so I was thinking I'll get the new DCS world and of course I have no choice to get the world to actually work I have to buy Nevada test range. I can only plead ignorance for not understanding that BS 2 has NO inbuilt Caucasus campaigns really absolutely nothing to do but fly around and look at the nice scenery and textures. I'll wait until the BS2 has something to do then I'll start buying other aircraft. I'll just check in once a month to see if anything is added for the BS2 module, this campaign doesn't seem worth it, I'm retired and on a very limited income so I have to chose wisely.

Thanks very much cthulhu68 I thought I was going crazy I thought the terrains must be missing because of a glitch in v 2.03 because I never imagined there were no missions from 1.5 that couldn't be used or had been converted already. I should have waited for awhile I guess. I'm not up to developing missions or campaigns myself and was hoping to pay someone else like ED to do it.

I see my fault then I'll shelve the sim until the caucasus campaign is converted. Bummer I bought a nice looking world where there's nothing to do.

Hello I had DCS world 2.03 running fine I thought but have been messing with my computer settings and was going to check my frame rates in some familiar missions/campaign but found that in DCS world all I have is Nevada and the assorted training missions for nevada but nothing in the way of anything other then that. Are those campaigns and missions and terrains stored in a folder that didn't get transferred in the update to 2.03? Thanks in advance I'm hoping it's just my old age and it's something real simple I forgot so please help. :-)

Please help a seinor with dual monitor setup Hello I've been reading through these threads and still am pulling out my hair. I'm using DCS world 2 latest update I have two monitors primary is 1366x768 the secondary which I want to display the abris is 1600x900 I'm using a GTX 970 for main and happened to have a spare gtx 560ti laying around so am driving second monitor with that but as I see it it makes absolutely no difference in this matter. So here is what I have. Main 1366x768 secondary 1600x900 main to display as usual secondary as Abris. Every thing I've tried already is leaving the miss aligned I tried changing some of the example lua's here but it's still off the ones I'm trying are said to work for DCS world 1.5. P.S. this is for Black Shark cockpit

Did I miss something? Are these points actually worth something? Can they be cashed in or used to offset purchase price of modules?

I thought the AI was pretty much sorted out because since I've been flying BS2 I haven't yet been totally taken out by my wing-man. I was doing the south ossetia pirates mission and keeping some forward progress as I was climbing the highest ridge on the way to the next way-point and just after cresting the ridge I heard a sound like a empty plastic bucket bouncing of a concrete wall, not at all like a chopper crashing so I thought for a millisecond that it may have been outside IRL. At that millisecond I heard an explosion so I'm thinking NO WAY that thing just crashed so I whipped it around to see a burning mess just on this side of the ridge so he must have just hit the edge. Give me a break he was looking out the same kind of window I was and I cleared by a good 5 feet. So is it just me or are they still killing themselves as before? The reason I ask is that in Black Shark original I used to find the nearest ridge after takeoff if I had a wing man so I could get him out of the way and not be accused of fratricide, now that they aren't actually tring to constantly kill me I like having them around but I do like flying low over ridges.

You're right the Passmark CPU mark tests many other things that don't reflect the way it's used here. The single core mark seems to be the most accurate way to tell how the CPU will actually perform in this sim world. According to the info in that first chart PassMark CPU MARK. Single threaded performance on the top three listed there goes as follows. i7 4930k 1997 i7 5820k 2008 i7 3930k 1934 i7 4790k 2527 So we see that best overall cpu mark has little to do with single threaded performance.

I hope you're overclocking that Intel i5 2500k to at least 4.3 Ghz that would be a big improvement.

Not at all except the three of us at work, where the guy kept his trs 80, we would tell the guys down the street what we thought about different things. You have to remember color screens were not a standard issue and things were very primitive by current standards. We were fascinated by the software no matter how "crude", to us it was phenomenal that an ordinary person could have that power on their desk. I guess we were easily impressed. By the way the story I heard was that gates and co brought the rights to an existing sim and developed it for DOS I think maybe written for CPM anyway the copy we had would probably be cool to have lol.

No the first one I tried was 8 bit on a trs-80 which I thought was a piece of crap at the time. I was working at a company that made Ham radio equipment at the time Icom America they make marine and aviation radios as well now. Anyway we were located in Bellevue Washington and there was a small office suite down the road where a few guys were making a new OS called DOS and they had the only EEprom burner around so we met these guys to get some old 2700 EEprom's programmed and one of the guys gave us a floppy disk he made himself and it was a very crude Flight simulator that became MS flight simulator.all around 1978 or so. It was a group that included Bill Gates. @Penshoon You may be onto something there.

Sorry the forum seems to be pretty sparse these days. It seems that there used to be a lot more activity a couple of years ago.

Thanks for that Nate, for us rookies there's nothing more frustrating then reading through a thread to find a answer and it disappears into limbo of PM land.

I made the transition recently and to me the big differences are in the AI behavior. With BS-1 I was far more afraid of my own wing man then the man pads trying to shoot me they also don't fly into the sides of mountains as they follow you over the ridge rather into it no more Kamikaze attacks by your AI flight they now are much better at surviving, I'm still getting used to returning from missions and I now have my wing-man landing with me instead of missing like normal. BS-2 is much improved in more subtle ways also. P.S. now I can stir my cyclic all over the place in formation flight and my wing men go to heroic measures (I think I've seen em upside down once) to avoid me lol.

I'm using 1.5.4.55952 not beta though It just updated Friday and no issues yet Both of my turbines spool up and keep working on auto start.
