TX-EcoDragon are you using vsync? seems so as the max fps floats around 60, which matches 60 Hz of most LCD-displays. You could get higher avg fps without vsync, but on the other hand the results are nearer real-life performance with vsync

Would ED be willing to publish an errata for the simultor, ie all differences they know between the real thing and the simulator? Or is it really that perfect?

mac address is spesific to your network card in your computer. So whatever your router is doing, wont affect mac address, or activation.

I like my Thrustmaster top gun fox 2 pro, but afaik its not manufactured anymore. Its quite cheap, and has 3 buttons on base and 3 on the stick+trigger+hat+throttle, and stick is twistable. All you need for basic flying imho.

This is relative to my interests too. Apparently protx accepts only UK Visa Electron, so I probably need to wait for the boxed copy if paypal (or international electron) doesn't become an option :(

I'm no offical, but I would say yes. Many recent high-profile games in steam have additional cp/drm-stuff. Steam's own cp is quite weak, and I doubt that it would satisfy ED.

I'm still bit confused: Does the boxed copy include full hard-copy manual? If so, will the price be higher than download-version (so that price of download + separate hardcopy manual would be about the same than full boxed copy)

I did run Krasnodar_Bench.trk in 800x600 and 1680x1050. Suprisingly 800x600 had slightly lower fps. Nothing noticeable really. 1680x1050 800x600 Avg 25.215 24.790 Max 51 47 Min 15 15 No fancy charts here :) Next would be benching different graphics-options. Those should show some difference. btw. results taken from beginning of track to end, full 410 seconds Settings used in attachment edit: A track containg some action and other units would be great too for benching edit2: did a quick bench with higher graphics, results are similar, average fps being 13. And I'm hoping that this machine would run DCS... :(

does the english version have russian cockpit as an option? it's imho more realistic that way...

Not really suprising when you have one of the most performant single-gpu graphics-card and a midrange cpu. I might do some benchmarks too, if I remember and have some extra time sometime. Specs: Intel e2140@2100MHz, Radeon HD4850(stock speed) and 2G of ram

Sounds interesting. GMT+2 here. I'm not sure if I'm able to dedicate lot of time for this, but I like the general idea.

Well LockOn is 5yrs old now(time flies...) and its still jerky in cities(like 15fps) or if I push the settings too high. I'm somewhat convinced now that I won't live long enough to see lockon run completly smoothly.

Next question ofcourse is whats the brevity codes in russia(n)? :) fyi theres a Field Manual floating around in internets with usaf brevity codes.

Yes. Autotuning correct settings is somewhat hard because of user prefences, ie I cant stand any graphics without antialiasing, others would be happy to sacrifice it for speed/details. But demo-mode for benchmarking would be nice. Builtin measurement of min/max/avg fps and maybe even cpu/mem/gpu-loads. Valves games have this afaik, and iirc FEAR did too. Remember that it should contain some usual AI-computations etc that would be in real game to achieve optimal accuracy. It would also help if the demo was divided into sections with different scenes, ie one with large city, one with lots of explosions, one with lots of ground units etc etc so that it would be easier to identify the effects of different options. But don't let this distract the main goal of getting BS finished ofcourse, but if someone is bored someday, this could be a project to do :)

are these missions for FC or vanilla lockon? Sadly my friend has only vanilla and it would be nice to fly these with him...

so will 4850/9800gtx finally be able to run lockon nicely, with 1680x1050 resolution and 4x AA? and dcs:bs too? maybe I should upgrade... although I'm not quite sure if I'm currently CPU or GPU bound. atm having Pentium e2140 and radeon x1800XT(or something), and having lousy performance :( What about nVidia vs ATi? Which performs better in lomac? 9800GTX+ and HD4850 have similar prices and performance in other games, but what about lockon? :helpsmilie:

I have put up basic vanilla MediaWiki-wiki for DCS, avail at http://www.zokier.net/dcs/ Maybe someone with some graphic skill and photoshop could make not so fugly logo, and maybe even full skin? Next stage is to begin collecting info into it. Is there copyright-problems if I take some data from Lockon manual etc? Recommendations for wiki softaware etc are accepted, mediawiki is just somewhat defacto, so I used that, but it can be changed(hosting has mysql+all usual scripting languages, running debian etch). If ED or someone else wants to take over at some point, its fine for me, but I except that domain&host to be usable for several years.
