  1. I’d like to do that, but A/A refueling is difficult as hell even with my curves set to 10. She’s a lot twitcher than she looks.
  2. hmm. Maybe I’ve just been lucky, but I’ve never had this issue. Then again I only flew warbirds before I got the Tomcat, so “babying” the plane is second nature, and I never even thought about overstressing the airframe. You are probably right - it makes sense that people coming from FBW crates would need to watch out for increasing load on the control surfaces at higher stick deflection. Thanks for bringing this up!
  3. I usually start off by using the recommended curve from the Chuck’s manual (which I believe is 15 for pitch, roll, and rudder, but don’t quote me as I’m still at work and can’t check). It’s usually at least a good starting point as you get familiar with the aircraft, and can then fine tune as necessary.
  4. AP emergency disconnect shuts off all AFCS except yaw. Common consensus through most tutorials I've watched/read say to only disconnect roll stabilization, while a very select few have mentioned hitting the paddle and disconnecting pitch as well. I've tried both, and have to say that disconnecting the pitch either should not be recommended, or takes a mastery of the jet (completely plausible) that I don't have. 1) Which is common practice while engaging in BFM (hitting the paddle, or turning off AP and individually selecting roll to off)? 2) Does disconnecting Pitch stabilization yield any actual benefits? 3) Is (I'm sure it is, but I have to ask) the AP emergency disconnect paddle modeled correctly in turning off both pitch and roll stabilization, as to my understanding it is meant as a quick disconnect in an emergency BFM situation? Thanks for all the input, and I'm sorry if this has been covered, as my search of this forum didn't turn anything up.
  5. I want this in both theatres. Badly. Might even drive an emphasis on bombing in MP... Hey, I can dream. This and the bf 110 are the two aircraft I want the most.
  6. Thank you, sir! And I actually already have a post in the bugs/issues area as well about the artificial horizon and vacuum system suction.... issues generally.
  7. I am also getting very regular crashes on second mission load in single player. It is not every time, and it seems like some days it will not happen at all. Today is one of the days where I cannot play more than a single mission without DCS crashing. I am sending the crash report every time it happens, so hopefully this will get sorted in an update soon.
  8. Small changes like this greatly impact and improve the maps playability and are a sound investment moving forward for future development. +1
  9. After flying the P-51 this morning I'm getting more and more the feeling that this has to do with inadequate suction in the vacuum system in the P-47, as opposed to the gyro itself. While in the P-51 I had no problem keeping the suction gauge within the operational range (although admittedly on the lower side), and, I would assume correspondingly, had no problem with the ADI during "normal" flight. This is a completely different experience than the Jug. If this is modeled accurately, and the jug had particular problems with the vacuum system, then fine. I'm just looking for info.
  10. Is it normal then for the suction gauge to be consistently below the operational range, and I'm just tweaking? I figured there was something that I was missing or operating incorrectly to have these results be the norm.
  11. After talking with several members of the community (more knowledgeable than myself) the common consensus for the problem with the artificial horizon drifting constantly is due to low suction in the vacuum system. After comparing this to readings on the suction gauge during flight this checks out. The problem then becomes why is the suction consistently below operational range even while in climb power? Is there a fix for this that I have not stumbled across, or is this a bug?
  12. +1. One of the many things I’d love to see.
  13. I moved from TFRPs to MFG crosswind. To say that it was a noticeable improvement is a comical understatement. I can't recommend them highly enough.
  14. Has there been any update that I may have missed in regards to making the radio homing functional in the German birds? Would be really interesting (and handy), especially in multiplayer. It's already in the planes, so would be neat to be able to have it work functionally.
  15. P-38, hands down. BF 110 a (very) close second.
  16. Title. This would be really handy to be able to bind these to your hotas for when you’re about to fly into those beautiful new clouds. there are keybinds for uncage and adjustment, but none to cage/reset.
  17. bump. Happened to me on the Wolf Pack mission 1. ATM actually - paused during my descent in formation to see if I was missing something. Formation flying/landing by feel is gonna be fun. EDIT: Came back on at around 200'. My pitot heat was on the whole flight, and I descended in formation. Need to read up on function, I guess, but would imagine that I was within accepted parameters for operation.
  18. The bf-110 would bring me such joy while flying axis. The knowledge that 9/10 of the people flying a 262 would end up as a flaming lawn dart around 7 mins of flight time would bring me immense joy while flying allied.
  19. Would be killer and free up my only fixed position "switch" (actually the slider, but hey) on my x56 that I currently mapped to "wheel brakes both". Not game breaking by any means, but would be helpful. I did a quick google for historical accuracy, and turns out the Germans definitely had access to chunks of wood to keep wheels from moving by WW2.
  20. That Corsair is gonna be a steam sale nightmare.
  21. 1: P-38 1.a: bf 110

  23. This mod works great, but is there a way to keep the airspeed in kph while having everything in English?
  24. The flaps will still move correctly in increments (at least in the P-51), but the flap lever is either in the 100%/0% position respective to lowering/raising. Came here to post this exact issue.
  25. Poop. I was misremembering. I thought I'd seen a GS ground attack video where he jettisoned rocket tubes. Went back and checked and they were wing mounted rockets on hard points. Dunno what I was remembering.
