reported TADS Clipping When Turning Right
Lord Vader replied to Tunstamj's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hello @Tunstamj We are aware of this item and have already reported this. -
Hello @sjhorsley Unfortunately, without a track there's really no way to analyse what you are saying. Pilot survivability in the F-16 has been discussed here many times and all we can say is that the canopy design on the F-16 does indeed expose the pilot a bit more than other aircraft and it is very likely for bullets or just shrapnel hit the pilot. I'm not saying this logic is perfect in DCS, if there's anything to improve in this regard we may refine it in future updates.

hardware issue Caucasus Instant action Cold and Dark keeps crashing DCS
Lord Vader replied to lwalter's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hey @lwalter We cannot reproduce this particular crash. What we suggest is that you perform a repair on your DCS and if you have any mods, please disable them as well. Since you sent the reports we will analyse that crash for sure. -
Help getting highest INS accuracy for pre-planned popups
Lord Vader replied to Nealius's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Technically speaking, you can perform any FIX with GPS on, but the Kalman filter will always resume its corrections, making it a bit pointless. If you want to test the FIXes without GPS, you can always set your source to INS only in the DED and/or just turn off the GPS switch. Just a tip. There's no point in doing this on normal operations in a modern scenario, of course, it would only allow you test this without the Kalman filter forcing the GPS updates. Regarding my suggestion, I was only saying so in order for you to acquainted with the changes. That's all. -
Hello @JimmyWA Whenever passing controls from one station to another, it's good practice to check controls, including trimming, like @TFSsuggested. Another item that you should check is the pitch axis in the controls page, just to confirm you don't have any control assignment. Also, if you have the "Synchronize Cockpit Controls with HOTAS Controls at Mission Start" just to make sure, turn it off and try again.

Hello @whataboutbob71 This is by design. Not all cargo containers are designed to be carried in the cargo hold, some are only sling loadable. It's not really a matter of "fitting", you also need to consider how the cargo is stored in the cabin. In order to check which can be carried internally, consider those in pallets or harnesses, while external cargo often has hook points or is just oversized. That's the case of the large Fuel Tank. Thank you for your suggestions, we'll see if in the future it's possible to refine container selection. For now, if you wish, you can create a wish list item.

need track file carrier landing - damanged tires
Lord Vader replied to Ladan's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hello, @Ladan Regardless of what was already mentioned here, regarding weight, speed, and/or angles, if you feel this is a bug we require a track file to analyse what you claim. I test landing in carriers frequently and only actually have mishaps when I go over the limitations or don't follow correct procedures. -
Help getting highest INS accuracy for pre-planned popups
Lord Vader replied to Nealius's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Hello @Nealius I'd assume you're referring to non-precision weapons using CCRP. This was in fact the case when there was no realistic INS drift introduced and subsequent new GPS navigation. What we had before was an "impossible" accuracy of the GPS/INS data, that is now much, much closer to reality. This is your first problem that I can perceive. With INS + GPS reception enabled, your position is set using BOTH sources, having the Kalman filter making the necessary merging of data. GPS data has inherent noise to it and it introduces small errors due to various factors, and that's the drift you observe on your sensors. On the other hand, the FIX procedure is there to correct INS deviations only, not GPS. Therefore, performing any kind of fix is rather pointless because the Kalman filter will always correct any INS point you create or adjust with the (noisy but more reliable) GPS data. This is why this happens: --- No, a SPI is a SPI is a SPI, therefore, the Targeting Pod will always follow it as it won't generate another point on its own. It can, however accumulate Deltas and it's good practice to verify if there aren't any by hitting the famous CZ or Cursor Zero button to make sure the TPOD is looking in the right direction. I hope I could help. If you search this forum and the Viper Mini-Updates, you'll find a lot of information regarding the new items and refinements introduced with the new INS+GPS system, making it a lot more true to life. -
Hey @falcon_120 There are a lot of tweaks and improvements undergoing. We understand some aspects of the radar simulation need them and I assure you we are working hard to bring these adjustments in future updates. Needless to say this is a very complex item and it needs to be correctly implemented.

investigating A-G radar EXP3 scanning is broken and unusable (MT)
Lord Vader replied to Rissala's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'm afraid this is one of those cases where the oddity is in the design itself and we're "guilty" of making it accurate. -
reported earlier TOS of Viper goes wrong in mission editor
Lord Vader replied to Furry D's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hello again @Furry D I've analysed your track and description and thank you for your time. We have previously found an issue with TOS and Zulu time conversion and we're still working on this. -
investigating FCR target shotmarkers with DLSS in VR
Lord Vader replied to cha5er's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hey @cha5er We would need to see what's going on precisely. Can you give us a screen capture of what you're seeing? We would also require a track file and your log. Thanks for your cooperation. -
investigating A-G radar EXP3 scanning is broken and unusable (MT)
Lord Vader replied to Rissala's topic in Bugs and Problems
In normal scan modes, yes, but like @BIGNEWY said, according to the source references for this radar/airframe, DBS mode is available in all scan volumes, except 120º. It's an actual limitation from the real aircraft and it's correctly depicted in our simulation. -

Lord Vader replied to Furry D's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hello @Furry D Although you explain it well, we would require a track file of this event so we can analyse. -
cannot reproduce Unable to enter RAID mode in TWS
Lord Vader replied to SexyTomato's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hello @SexyTomato I tested this just now, including taking over your track and could not reproduce the issue you describe. Not only should you consider what was already suggested, checking the key binds and verifying distances, if the problem persists, please consider running a repair. -

Let us know how it went @LuseKofte -
need track file Track File Hangs DCS at Load Objects 1/60
Lord Vader replied to Daemoc's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hello again @Daemoc We've analysed your log file and couldn't really find any possible issues that could cause a track problem. This situation could be occurring due to some files requiring replacement. Here are a few suggestions: Remove all unofficial mods if you have them. Run a verify in steam so it can replace or remove files. Check if an antivirus is somehow interfering with DCS. Turn off some options just to test, like SSLR or SSAO. After this, if the problem persists, let us know. Please do let us know but also share the track like we asked previously. -
Alright, thanks for the track. I've raised this internally for analysis.

Hello @Canada_Moose We would need to observe the conditions you're setting. Can you share a short track of what you are doing and observing? Thanks -
correct as is Can't load/unload cargo with rear gunner
Lord Vader replied to Hoirtel's topic in Bugs and Problems
Of course the ramp gunner could move out of the way but the gun itself is fixed in position, it can't be easily moved and it needs some work to remove. We may some day refine these logics, not sure towards what you suggest but, for now, you can include these suggestions on the wish list section. https://forum.dcs.world/forum/1123-wish-list/ -
Please describe exactly what you did. A track is really the best way to do this. I just tried again with scenery items and couldn't reproduce.
-
@grim_reaper68 Unfortunately, we cannot use this track since it has mods installed. Please remove or temporarily disable these mods and create another track for our analysis. @Makla26 I've tried to sling load exactly that cargo crate using the dynamic cargo option and when unhooked I couldn't reproduce that bug. Again, we need a track demonstrating the issue to make sure we understand what's going on.

reported some CDU KEY not working or misworking after patch 2.9.8.1107
Lord Vader replied to digitego's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi @whataboutbob71 and @Fakum As you can see from the replies above, there was a bug introduced with some keys in the CDU, including the "MARK" key and we're working on it. -
correct as is Can't load/unload cargo with rear gunner
Lord Vader replied to Hoirtel's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi @Hoirtel The inability to load cargo with the gunner in position is intended. The rear gun is installed in such a way that doesn't allow the loading or unloading of crates. Not only it removes of the ramp platforms, the gun itself is fixed and blocks the entrance. As mentioned, the inoperable trim is a known issue and it's being worked on.
