  1. 38 here.... .....love DCS, even with all it's problems. The only way I would expect it to be perfect is if I had done better at school and became a real A10C pilot :smartass: Would have also needed my Mum and Dad to have been in America for a dirty weekend aswell :D

    Hello

Welcome and enjoy the Hog!! :joystick:
  3. Some online flying from the weekend! Didn't stay like that for long LOL
  4. Search is your friend... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=80230 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=83516&highlight=thrustmaster+flight http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=59984&highlight=thrustmaster+flight With a bit of mapping and set up the stick works very well!
  5. Patched, no problems except the new 1.1.1.1 removed modifiers. Only took 2 secs to put them back in and all fine.
  6. I have the the Hotas X aswell. I have button 9 and 10 on the throttle set as modifiers. This gives me 3 sets of buttons I can use. I'll try and explain a little here, but it is very much a personel seetup and depends what other input devices you have i.e. track IR etc. I have track IR by the way. No Modifier: Button 1 = fire gun Button 2 = drop/fire bomb/missle Button 3 = Zoom out Coolie hat = Trim Button 5 (throttle) = Brakes Button 6 = Teamspeak chat Button 7 = speed brake out Button 8 = speed brake in Button SE = Autopilot Button ST = change HUD mode i.e. Nav etc Modifier 9 pressed: Button 1 = fire gun Button 2 = drop/fire bomb/missle Button 3 = Steering on/off Coolie hat = Move TGP/TAD marker Button 5 (throttle) = DMS Forward Button 6 = DMS Left Button 7 = DMS Right Button 8 = DMS Aft Button SE = Not used Button ST = Lights on Modifier 10 pressed: Button 1 = fire gun Button 2 = drop/fire bomb/missle Button 3 = Lights Off Coolie hat = Used to switch between left MFD, right MFD or HUD as SOI Button 5 (throttle) = TMS Forward Button 6 = TMS Left Button 7 = TMS Right Button 8 = TMS Aft Button SE = Not used Button ST = Not Used There are loads of different combinations you can have, but it is best to try and figure out what you use the most and what best suits you. With a bit of time and effort you can map the joystick very well. I would say firing weapons, DMS and TMS switches, trim and being able to lock a target up are a must. I have added my setup, but to be honest, it will take you ages to figure out all the controls as I haven't written them all down. CarneyUK Profile HOTAS.lua CarneyUK Profile Keyboard.lua
  7. No it's only set up for multiplayer with 8 slots?
  8. Yet again another awesome mission! Played it with Cp tonight and it kept us very busy, as usual I took hit's but was super immersive (I got to learn that voice overlay for ME) Awesome Job!
  9. Hi Kylania, Thanks for the comments. Always good for changing future missions to work better. 1. The reason I hide everything is that when I fly with friends we try to make it as real as possible, so the only view is from your cockpit. It is easy enough to change by going into the mission editor and changing mission options and re-saving. I always do this on missions I download so it increases realism when played with others online. 2. The loiter and wait message also triggers all the action. I could move it or create another message to appear at Fence In. 3. As the missions are random, they all have different times before they start, some 1st tasks are quicker than others. 4. Understand it makes it harder to learn when the En forces are hidden in ME, but kind of gives the game away when you can see where they all are. It was also designed as a mission, not a training flight. Once unhidden you can resave which won't take long. Less time than it took me to build it. It also made it easier building by hiding stuff once that part was finished, get's confusing otherwise :-) 5. Love the co-ord entering aswell. Only thing I found was that if you missed it you didn't get it repeated. Something I need to learn for my next mission. 6. All SEAD flights take of from same airfiled as TUSK except, IIRC, one AH flight. As the mission is random you don't always get the same SEAD, or threats or targets. Hopefully won't take long to get the next mission built. In the mean time you can re-fly 'Op Damcon' and it will have completey different targets, threats and flights. Enjoy and thanks for the comments!
  10. Decided I would give it a go making a mission. First thing I found was a new respect for all the mission makers out there! It's not easy and takes a lot of hard work and figuring out. Massive thanks to MadTommy for the template! The mission is built up of 12 different tasks, each time the mission is flown 3 random tasks will be chosen. There are 4 En environment settings so you will always have differnet threats and there will somtimes be SEAD or AH help, but this will also be random! Idea is you can fly the mission many times and it will always be different! As I said MASSIVE thanks to MadTommy for the template! Mission is: Tusk flight x4 A10C defeneding Zugdidi heliport. Inputting co-ords into CDU is a must! Once airbourne you can listen to SEAD flights etc, to see how much help you are (or not LOL) getting. Hope you all enjoy and if anyone wishes to edit or change the mission I have no problems with that! :joystick: The mission was more of a practice for me to learn the ME, and thus won't be updated. I have a new mission in progress. Op_Damcon_1.1.1.0.miz
  11. Awesome work dude!!! Rep inbound!

    Wags!!

Happy Birthday Wags!! A busy year is always a good year......next birthday hope you are reaping the rewards.
  13. Couldn't help but comment. Haven't read all posts but the question "Why so many passworded servers?"......because of twats like 'R?? D????????', who uses the name online, but doesn't register it with the forums!! After an enjoyable mission with Badger, we were on route back to Kutaisi and decided to refuel. Once I had A/A refuelled, Badger who had moved in to take up position was then taken out by D??????? who then took out the tanker and then me. I normally lock my server if I am online with the team but quite often leave it unlocked for people to fly in. Most I have met have enjoyed it and had a relaxed flight, and I will do my best to talk them through stuff (even typing to help) I hope it brings them on a little to fly in the big boy servers. For me now...locking the server will always happen!! Simple answer, the minority of twats online is why servers are passworded.
  14. Another very sad loss. RIP. I always thought the seats were designed to allow ejection from the ground anyway?
  15. You should do :D Just wish I had the skills to make them. A well made video can really sell a computer program, wether it be a game or a sim. Most people who have watched yours and Glowing Amraam's video at my house think you both use some real footage LOL. They can't believe it when I tell them it's all sim!
  16. Awesome video .......get's the hairs on the back of your neck standing up!! Sounds awesome through 5.1 almost max volume!
  17. Concentration...practice...concentration......practice :D You'll get there in the end! Anyway, could have been worse....could have just completed your first perfect mission then crashed on landing..I've done that before, very annoying LOL
  18. Awesome mission, flew it with 2 of us last night, was hectic, but we managed to complete it in the end. By the time you finish you can't rememeber half the things you did it as was so full on!
  19. Just watching the MotoGP at Indy and as they sang the national anthem, 2 A10C's carried out a flypast. Wish I was there! My 2 favourite things in life in one place!! (motorbikes and the A10) :-) If anyone is there and has photo's please upload
  20. Don't wait...get a credit card, buy now, if something better comes out, buy again....... You only live once and you can't take money with ya!! LOL My credit card is maxed out now :D
  21. Pilot changes his mind last minute........then his underwear later! PFokR6mNQIo
  22. Yet again....awesome stuff to make this sim even more realistic!! Still don't know what or if we use any wording when dropping a single bomb. For instance when firing a Maverick you would say "Rifle" that way all other aircraft know it is not a launch from En air/ground unit's etc on their RWR. Would you inform other aircraft of a drop of a bomb like a GBU or Cluster etc? We always call "pickle" when dropping ordanance to alert other aircraft in our target area that a weapon is on route to target (can get interesting if someone is going in for a gun run!). Would you even say this IRL? All I need to do now is practice my American accent :D
  23. You have 2 options, one is autopilot on the left hand side just behind the throttle, or the other is trim (can't remember the key strokes). If you have ever flown Black shark by DCS, then you will soon realise you need to trim a lot, so until you get your HOTAS, it will always be difficult. I use the hat switch for trim and it get's used a lot!! Either way it will still be hard using the joypad.
  24. Adapted it last night to try MP....awesome fun! Would be awesome with FRAPS to record it.
  25. 1.1.0.7 uses the old way so EGI is default, and the new 1.1.0.8 HARS is default. So theis only relates to the new 1.1.0.8 version. Hopes this helps
