  1. @Minsky, this is absolutely incredible work. Thank you so much for creating these outstanding kneeboards and sharing them with us!
  2. I found something interesting today while looking at some Hornet LUA files. Go to [DCS base directory]/CoreMods/aircraft/FA-18C and search for "COCKPIT" in these files: FA-18A.lua FA-18C.lua FA-18C_hornet.lua (this is the Hornet available to the player) Check out the values associate with the "critical_damage" variable here. If anyone's interested, try running the attached test mission and change between the 3 Hornet versions, you'll notice how the AI pilots in the FA-18A and FA-18C_hornet versions always die. The "critical_damage" values for these planes are both "1". The FA-18C value is "8" and the AI pilot's survival rate is much better. You can adjust the FA-18C_hornet value in this file but it will certainly break IC. _Hornet survivability.miz
  3. I gave this a try and while it sharpens up the HMD symbology, it also makes the HUD look a bit janky. The AMPCD font is also adversely affected. I poked around in some of the Hornet LUA files to see if I could isolate the parameters that affect the HMD but was unsuccessful. Hopefully ED will address this issue. I was doing some guns-only in the Hornet today and that HMD kept making me say, "Look how they massacred my boy!". It looks awful. edit: After removing the mod and restoring the original files, I edited MDG_strokesDefs.lua and changed line 3: original: stroke_thickness = 0.8 new: stroke_thickness = 0.4 YMMV but my HMD looks a lot better now.
  4. This does not fix the problem.
  5. The QAG in its current state is pretty painful to use. It's incredibly slow and isn't a fun experience. I'm hoping development of new features like the QAG and DTC continues full speed ahead. It's a bad feeling when cool new features get added and then seemingly set aside when focus shifts to other cool new half-baked features.
  6. Appreciate the input @Mapi. Unfortunately, I'm on a 6800 XT GPU so I don't think this tweak is applicable to me.
  7. Since the 2.9.16.10523 update, the HMD symbology is noticeably blurrier than the previous version. Could this be related to the following change? Fixed: HMD cross disappears with a large FOV - fixed the visibility with large FOV. Anyone else seeing this? It looks like a couple people have mentioned it on ED's Discord: https://discord.com/channels/542985647502393346/1375213873304703096/1375213873304703096 https://discord.com/channels/542985647502393346/1375154676953124945/1375154676953124945
  8. I've read the manual cover-to-cover at least once and am constantly referring back to it to review something I've forgotten. It does a decent job of covering the Hornet but it could use an update. I sometimes have to look at another developer's Superbug manual when trying to figure out finer details that can't be found in the DCS manual. ED's manual isn't bad but it does need some love. The manual itself even admits this on p.12. Also note that the last update was in March 2023. Maybe manuals aren't the sexiest thing to work on and maybe many DCS players are reading-challenged as @Wags himself says in one of his Q&A vids but I really enjoy reading them while taking my time to learn these complex modules. It's a big part of the fun for me. Here's to hoping the efforts to update your manuals is still underway.
  9. Yay! I'm guessing the external chassis was a bit of a bottleneck. An NVMe-to-NVMe should be relatively fast. When I've backed up my 800-1000GB DCS install it takes under an hour and that's going from NVMe to HDD. I also use Macrium to save an image of a greenfield DCS install that I can deploy to test when things break. Just to make sure it's me and not you before reporting any bugs or problems.
  10. Hmm, it looks like Reflect is now subscription-based. F-that, forget I mentioned it or just use the free trial period to clone your drive. I got Reflect when it was a one-time buy but can't recommend a subscription-based solution, no matter how good it is.
  11. That might work but I'm not sure how Steam handles potential drive re-lettering. Another option is to try Macrium Reflect. It's a great backup/recovery tool and I've used it to clone drives seamlessly several times.
  12. Weird! You can examine the options.lua file in ".../Saved Games/Config" and any referenced monitor config files in ".../Saved Games/Config/MonitorSetup" for clues. You might also want to look to see if Windows is reshuffling your multimonitor arrangement when you remove one or more monitors. Reimaging your entire PC just because you power off a monitor seems extreme. That's like having to buy a new car because someone adjusted your mirrors.
  13. Thanks for posting this. If this thread is any indication, both Internetting and understanding legal disputes are really hard.
  14. "Smart" people. That says a lot about others who keep insisting that they are owed a full update on the situation.
  15. Just a shot in the dark after skimming your log, but perhaps bumping up your page file from 16GB to 32GB might help.
  16. I just finished this campaign and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great job @Sedlo and thank you for delivering such a fun experience! I liked all the missions but the most memorable was the one where...[SPOILER ALERT]
  17. Give the command line a shot: "DCS_updater.exe install GERMANYCW_terrain". That executable can be found in the DCS "bin" dir.
  18. Well said. I don't think the lost money is going to break anyone here. On the other hand, losing these unique modules which really are works of art is a huge bummer. I'm still hanging on to my Strike Eagle and hoping for the best.
  19. This is one of the silliest things I've read on these forums in a long time. I really hope you're making a joke.
  20. I made a similar report. @rob10, looks like it's not Quaggles injector that's breaking things.
  21. That was the first thing I did - checked my diffs in Saved Games, then the default.lua files in the affected modules' Input directories. No luck finding anything weird. I disabled Quaggle's injector and still saw the duplicate names. I temporarily renamed my Saved Games folder and still no luck. I do have a barebones test install that I use for testing/troubleshooting and do not see these duplicates there. My test install is currently on 2.9.10.3948. Next step is to do a quick repair to get all modified install files back to their original states. Definitely a weird one. If you have time, can you check your binds to see if any duplicates show up? I haven't done a comprehensive check but so far I've seen them with the Hog, Apache and Hornet.
  22. In Options -> Controls, there are duplicate action names that are highlighted in orange text that indicate "Different actions have identical descriptions!" (see attached screenshots). I've checked the A-10C II, Apache PLT and CP/G and the Hornet. I don't recall seeing this issue before the 2.9.14.8222 update. I am using Quaggles command injector but have not configured any custom commands for the A-10C II yet the problem is still observed there. Has anyone else noticed this?
  23. @ricnunes, I'm seeing the same thing, at least with AI controlled Hornets. I just created a simple mission with an AI MiG-29 armed with AA-11s setup at the 6 o'clock of an AI Hornet that is flying straight and level. After running it 10 times, the Hornet pilot is killed all 10 times. I substituted a Viper in for the Hornet and the Viper pilot survived 5 of 10 rear-aspect AA-11 impacts. So something does still seem off, despite the recent Hornet pilot survivability adjustments. @BIGNEWY I'm attaching my simple mission in case you're interested. Nevada AI Hornet survivability.miz
