  1. And you'd be dead wrong marcos I'm afraid. I have reported this and have shown videos of it doing otherwise. SA-11 sites can track and fire through mountains as if not there (Obviously if it hits the hill it explodes, it doesn't go through it, but it manouvers the missile towards your aircraft as if the hill is not even there.) Just 2 nights ago I was playing with ENO, and we both got fired upon by an SA-11 behind the hill, my RWR was picking up the missile launches and as soon as we got through a little crack in the hill, that's where the missile came through and killed us both, from a very long ways away may I add. Has happened to me on MANY MANY occasions.
  2. Yep, what he said ^ Also, keeping your countermeasures in automatic is a sure shot way of dispensing all of your chaff and flares in matter of seconds. Learn to use semi and activate it on your own accord. Right now (in terms of ECM), you get spiked by something on the RWR, flip the jammer on, squeeze your buttcheeks, and hope for the best. Once you're fire upon, "Left Cntrl. + E" three times should do the trick. Missiles still track through mountains it seems... Pretty displeased with that.

    SA-19 Tunguska

I have indeed noticed missiles going underwater and tracking back up, as well missiles looping and doing 360s.

  5. I am extremely disappointed that those high explosive rockets were so goddamn useless... Only time it killed anything was through direct impact. I had to scrap a lot of the scenes because after putting 12 rockets in one spot, not a single truck would die... Very unhappy...
  6. Seems like the S-300 systems are rather spot on. This is the S-400 and it makes the same pow wow smoke as the 300 I have spotted missile launches from WELL over 40 miles away on the SA-10 and SA-11 sites. Now Strelas on the other hand... Dirty little buggers leave no trail from launch. They often go unnoticed in DCS...
  7. PAC IS the Autopilot essentially. When speed breaks are open, PAC is disengaged because autopilot does not have override authority on speed breaks. At least that's how it was explained to me. I have the Thrustmaster Hotas, and the one switch I have never used is the Engine IGN (ignite) switch. I know back in the days it was shown that it should be used to start the engine, though that is no longer the case. I also read that it is supposedly used for Windmill restarts but I have never used it to re-start the engine that way. Damn APU restarts almost never work. So I'm just curious as to it's use. PS: The emergency procedures state that the Crossfeed switch should be flipped on for a Windmill restart but not for an APU restart, is this correct?
  8. Holy resurrection batman, this thread is 2 years old!
  9. Ok, so it HAS been re-implemented then?
  10. Has the chat box keyboard shortcut been given back to us since the last patch? We had it as Cntl M at some point, then it changed to ~ i think and then it was removed all together and everyone had to hit escape to get there. I still find myself going to my keyboard to hit escape and then CHAT, and EVERY SINGLE DAMN TIME I click on that CHAT box, the position of my head is such that I click the right engine fire handle shutting my right engine down (The two overlay in the background). Mid air restarts are fun, but mid air restarts at 2 feet from the ground are not good... :(
  11. Amen to that!
  12. So while playing on Hamburger Hill a few days a go, I managed to get 4 AA kills and RTBing safely home after an accidental right engine shut off, and mid air restart (not included in the video). One of my best 40 minutes of gaming thus far.
  13. i have a track that does not have the F5 option on by default because of the server settings, i remember that there is a file i can go to and change a value to turn that option on when looking at the track. Can anyone help me out?
  14. Here, go to 5:15 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=QSkSGWXurUE LOUD!!!
  15. I can wait, i can totally wait..... ...... .....
  16. Well Azraeil, they placed the friendly TORs and enemy TORs within 5 miles of each other. Excuse me very ****ing much if it made no goddamn sense at the time.
  17. Can't rely on that I'm afraid. Been on a server with 20 people 2 days ago, and I have an escort of a P51D and a Su25T SEAD for my A10, and all of a sudden I get a spike of about 20 TORs in front of me... Now, I'm Russian (RED) so my confidence is high that they are friendly, they did not lock me, but sure enough, I pass through the first 15 TORs and all is well, then the next patch of TORs just within a few miles of a friendly airbase starts to shoot at me, at no point did I get a RWR of a hard lock. Another fantastic example is giving Russians Patriot Missile sites for defense... O_o wut? Mission designers are doing this to us on most missions in a lot of servers, so to be honest blame them, im no good at making maps so i cannot be too stingy about it. It would be ok if they would at least give them the X position on the TAD or some kind of useful information on the briefing but it all becomes messy when you have moving units of mixed equipment between two different factions with no way of identifying if that is a friend or foe. It's a huge issue for mission designers and a lot of players are complaining about this in game. Stick the right equipment to the right side and at least give us good enough intel to know when enemies move in or friendlies move out if you are going to move and mix equipment up with different factions. It's bad map design, so if you are one of those people... stop it! Punk! I can't sleep at night not knowing whether a TOR is friendly or not anymore regardless what side I'm on... :(
  18. Yes there does seem to be some buildings that are BLACK when looking through TGP, it turns on and off randomly. Other than that, good stuff.
  19. What was the part they were talking about with oil, where he said it went bonkers for a sec then showed normal? It's at 2:48, something about stabilizing in one minute? I know that oil pressure is essential to keep the parts lubricated and if it drops below a certain amount then the engine will start to shred and break parts off possibly, but it seemed like there was more to it with what they were saying. Btw, LOVE THAT VIDEO, pissed myself when the guy was in sensors for mavericks the whole time ahahah. That and shit pilots dont say are my favorite so far.
  20. Is there a master server issue going on right now?
  21. HAHAHAHHAHAHA I WIN I WIN!! I KNEW IT!!! Fu**ING WIN!!!
  22. in the game options make sure you dont have the FULL SCREEN option on, then alt tab will work just fine, as long as you have a background program working, like a web page or TrackIR.
