  1. The beauty of Open ended games, like The Elder Scrolls (TES - which started the trend of sandbox games (afaik)), Xterran, Evochron Mercenaries, and others is just that: YOu can play the way you want. Want to build an empire ? Ok Want to just hone your fighting skill to perfection OK. Want to save the world, fine, Couldn t care less about the world, fine too The only points such games seem to fail are: You can t join the Dark Side :( And There s always a Dark Side :(
  2. However be carefull , i was very frustrated when having hotas discovered X 1 2 and 3 have very weak support for peripheral hardware. USB controls... only 1 allowed. And remember X1 is 97. By the cheer amount of playing i would recomend you to go to the last X title (then if you get hooked regress), or even better (if you have patience) wait for X rebirth, its planned at years end and will have 0 relation to old titles in storyline. There will probably have references but as the title says and also the dev, its a Rebirth. Go visit the egosoft site, if i would give a second counsel.
  3. All those number are nice, but ... we want to know if your pleased on how it run stuffsssss
  4. Afaik: Stay clear from 940 at all cost, by what experienced peoplerelate here it isn t worth its weight in rockroach dung. Then stay away from X36, althought there are happy people there. TM is expensive or need work aftermarket so i rule it out. Seems X52, and CH are good. I ve had CH stick throttle and pedal, Stick are very good, Throttle is hairy butt ugly but is funcional, and pedal are too straight for anyone above Frodo size. Can t say anything about X52. More good than bad i ve heard.
  5. Both have missiles ?
  6. Also check LVA 7330 on e-bay. As long you dont use voice recognition software like gamecommander or VAC, the Zalman is good.
  7. Mine only twist if i force it... Sometimes it may happen in an intesive moment...but my mind is so concentrated elsewhere i don t notice. It may not be a design issue but simply have to do with the natural flexibility of the material connecting each part, remembet the handle can be disconnected.
  8. Waiting for X-Rebirth here... I went for the full pack when Steam sold it for 2 peanuts. I love free form games -> do what you want the way you want at the time you want. Sometimes your freedom is dazzling and you get half paralyzed, but once your get into the spirit its awesome. Another in the style very interesting game in the same way that have more features than X3: newtonian physic, multiple USB controler support, track ir support 6dof, planetary descent, cockpit, joystick oriented game, free form and blah blah blah... is Evochoron Mercenary (its seems one guy did the game, totally independent.) http://www.starwraith.com/evochronmercenary/index.htm IMHO its more oriented to space flight than X3. And newtonian physics in space bring a whole new sets of manoeuvers (something wrong here to lazy to check spelling) and tactics when engaging someone(s).
  9. Umm this thing push a bit to the left.. thats for sure. I m to Gandhilike to myself Hey Ehrherealin want some Imperial March with your results ;)
  10. Try what Dark eagle said it worked for me with lock on gold.
  11. Mine doesnt move or.. if it move i don t even notice.
  12. I ve had 3 set of rudders. 1) CH Pro. They are good, i had to rewire them for toe break, but they are awesomely straight which let you uncomfortable. I used them 3 years,I still have them shelved, spike like hell had already changed the center pot once, but i m in the country that destroy hardware. In my classification of owner they are the last i recomend. (Nº 3) 2) Then i bought a TM RCS (Rudder control system (do not confound with elite that have the same space problem as the CH pro)) metal, widely spaced, PERFECT with the Cougar. Problem is you will only find them on Ebay from time to time, they where used by USMC for training. I replaced pots with hall sensor, added toe brake with Cubby (he s sometimes around here, http://cubpilotshangar.net/) and it was 100%. Another problem is the fact they are gameport, so no joy with the Warthog. (i used it for a year without any flaw) Cub had a project to make them usb, i dont know how its going. Number 1 in my choice. 3) Saitek pro combat flight or whatever, they do the job, aren t stellar, but they are widened spaced so confortable, and they are cheap compared to what you find on the market. Sole problem for some is the detent, which can be removed. They are also precise and quite programable so all in all very good pedals. Had then for 4 month nothing to declare. Number 2 in choice. There are others there, but even if better, the price soar. Simped is very higly coted but i never had a set.
  13. Serious work in there at least those pics are awesome
  14. There s some moss growing on your A10 you should clean it. :)
  15. I feel you pain, i have Gamecommander 2. Setting all and then making the game sort orders that are similar is a pain. But at the end of the week :D it pays.
  16. Crunch, Due to de fact that flightsims have a lot of similar orders, your mic had better be good if you use voicecommander or the like, or you ll end up in a nightmare wondering how you ll going to diferenciate that order form that one and them remembering what you did. At least it was the case for me. Sometimes on Ebay you can find theold but excellent mic LABTEC LVa 7330 Its the mic only. But theres others products with mic and phones. The mic only is 10 bucks on e-bay.
  17. The seat and front panels are awesome. And the front panels can easely be programed to other sim as well. As soon as i can i will acquire the panels.
  18. Would it be fun to fly from Europe to USA on a A 10 programing refuelling ? I wonder. Is it fun to take off set autopilot, go sleep, wake up and land....not for me... I prefer a hundred times to wait for DCS improvements than to shell money on civie that fails on A or B right out of the box, because they can t have both. I hope thought this will be fixed someday.
  19. When i look at all this, i realise how heaveniss ED sim are out of the box, and how lucky we have dedicated teams like RoF and even Il2 team. There s been a lot of unjust spitting in the plate on this last one. I m always curious about the civilian flight sims, but it just more work than fun. Maybe i am on the wrong end of the viewpoint. Building a multiple monitor for military sim also is a lot of work.
  20. Awesome! want to see the final building.
  21. Yep... i live on a 60M2 apartment, weren t i on financial restrictions till new orders, i would have build a pit she would have liked because it would have saved space for more shelves... And womens need space... Damn they need it. Take measures and start playing with googlesketch (or whatever) you might be surprised with how much you can achieve with 1m40cm long and 1 m wide. (And those measures aren t for mower' s mind!) :D A pit can be something as simples as having yourself, your screen and hotas on a confortable and ergonomic position so your flight get more pleasant and precise.
  22. Mower, you already stated: "Who said i m male", now you want to get on all kind of sticks....Your credicard have been taken... I leave people here wonder for themselves. Things that make you go Huh? People you better raise the bar on the contendent :)
  23. If your not building your pit its because your not addicted enought ! :D
