  1. Fantastic work! It'll be interesting to see how the ships compare. Great to see that the NSMs are incoming to replace those Harpoons, they really are getting old!
  2. After seeing a VFC-13 livery for the MiG-29S on the User Files, I decided to see what a USAF clean-sheet 4.5 generation replacement for the F-16 might look like if it was a twin-engine design (unlikely, but possible). So I present the Bell/Boeing F-29A Kingcobra II, a 4.5 generation single seat, twin engine lightweight fighter for the USAF. If I can get hold of a suitable cockpit for this thing, I will make it available for download, but until then it will remain private. F-29A Kingcobra II Specifications: Crew: 1 Length: 17.32 m (56 ft 10 in) Wingspan: 11.36 m (37 ft 3 in) Height: 4.73 m (15 ft 6 in) Wing area: 38 m2 (410 sq ft) Empty weight: 11,000 kg (24,251 lb) Gross weight: 14,900 kg (32,849 lb) Max takeoff weight: 18,000 kg (39,683 lb) Fuel capacity: 3,500 kg (7,716 lb) internal Powerplant: 2 GE F424-100 Adaptive Turbofans (16,000lbf thrust dry, 29,000lbf thrust with afterburner) Armament: 7 pylons for up to 14 AIM-120 or AIM-9 air to air missiles, 20mm M61A2 Vulcan with 578 rounds Max Speed: Mach 2.5 Service Ceiling: 70,000ft Range: 1000 miles G Limit: 9 Thanks to Wyvern for the USAF Have Glass livery.
  3. MSIP was actually a program that started in the late '80s to upgrade the F-15 fleet with things like AIM-120 capability, but I haven't been able to find a name for the upgrade program that fitted AESA radars and such to the F-15C/D fleet, MSIP it is. I don't have the skills currently to implement an AESA radar ingame (maybe one day lol), but what I can do is add more modern missiles (AIM-9X and AIM-120D for example). That's what the MSIP mod is about, since MSIP stands for Multistage Improvement Program, so theoretically the more modern upgrades for the F-15C fleet could fall into that category (AIM-9X for example).
  4. @Geschirre I should get you to make skins for me more often! I have something else going up on the forums soon that might interest you... In other news, I hope to release the F-15C MSIP soon, once I get some issues straightened out...
  5. TBH I do wish I could remove that pesky nose probe, but I don't have the source file for the F-15S/MTD so I can't do that. I could try to ask the original dev for a new .edm without the nose probe, but the chances of that aren't great.
  6. I take it this mod will be standalone?

  8. Hi, F-15EX mod developer here. If you want maybe I can help you fix your issues.
  9. You could try swapping for a different afterburner effect. The one that it uses currently is a custom effect that isn't very good tbh. I know VSN is working on making a custom cockpit for it though, so they may fix the AB effects then too. To get a different effect it's a simple LUA edit. Just open the VSN_YF12.LUA file in Notepad++ and find the engine/afterburner effect section. Then look around at other aircraft to find a different afterburner effect, and paste the effect name into the YF12 LUA.
  10. Even better!
  11. I may have some good news shortly! F-15C MSIP is progressing well and getting close to release state.
  12. I will be releasing an update of Dol's F-2 mod that includes JASDF weapons for the F-15CJ. The F-15CJ will be able to carry and fire the AAM-3, AAM-4, and AAM-5 missiles.
  13. Does anyone know where the AAM-3s in this screenshot came from? Someone uploaded a set of F-15 skins to the User Files recently with this screenshot: I have made an AAM-3 for DCS but if that's what I'm seeing here then it has been retextured. This may be a different model with more detail.
  14. It was a lot easier back in the day when cruisers generally carried guns of 150mm or larger, DDs carried guns of 102-130mm, and DEs carried guns of ~76mm as a general rule. There were still some rule breakers though, like the Alaska class "Large Cruisers" that had 305mm guns (same caliber as many WWI battleships) and the Atlanta class anti-air cruisers with 16x 127mm guns.
  15. Yep, switched to that model since the Block III was cancelled in favor of the II+.
  16. AIM-9X BLK II+ is going well though. I know the skin says "AIM-9X-3", still working on that part. @Nightstorm was gracious enough to let me borrow his work from the Modern Missiles mod to use here. And this doesn't replace any stock weapons either!
  17. New engine data, more accurately represents the GE-129 engine that the real F-15EX uses. Also swapped out afterburner effects, so now it uses the same one as the F-16 (which also has the GE-129 engine). Now, if only we had the nozzle petals to go with it!
  18. AIM-120D and D-2 have been partially implemented, but I am still trying to find a solution for the premature warhead detonation issue that occurs when these missiles are fired from rails. The AMBER racks work fine, oddly enough.
  19. Mine isn't finished yet. Right now it is just the AGM-88F with a different model and mass, no other code has been changed thus far. The workaround to make it work with the F-15 avionics is a bit convoluted, so it's taking longer to get right. I am also having issues with AIM-120D implementation. They work so far if ejected from an AMBER rack, but the minute they are rail launched, they explode and destroy the launch aircraft! Still looking for a fix for that before I move back over to the AARGM-ER.
  20. Cap is okay with me using their AIM-260 model, but I would have to build the code myself again to have it working before the GR mods are released to the public. I won't be asking for his AARGM-ER because all GR air to ground missiles only work for AI aircraft, my ARMs work for player aircraft too. So I'll be using my own model for the AIM-260 for now. I'm not very happy with the fat fins on the GR model anyway.
  21. New AMBER model with roughmet!
  22. I will also be re-working the AMBER rack model to be more accurate. Might even get AIM-260 to fit on it!
  23. AMRAAM-ER or JATM? JATM might have to wait on GR.
