Just going out to work, ran the 1.5.8 updater, it zipped past the update and ignored it. (in UK) Asked me to verify the mi-8 hip, then ran. So did updater clean, then updater repair, it ran both and says my 1.5.8 12834,414 is ok. It is,but it has not updated. Will be back this evening, no rush Thank you

Possible solution, during mission set up don’t you have to set up the track for where/when refuelling begins and end. You could add a tanker in mission builder but have ‘nothing ‘ as the mission. So then you call all day but no drogue

Thats really nice, looking forward to it.

I'm with you on that one, then we could have Gulf War III over the straights of Hormuz. There's a whole range of aircraft that have been mentioned, but the Victor K2 is in museums, still got aircrew you could ask.....but you might have to hurry while they're still on the planet, Sorry gents!

Thank you for your effort, looks great

First skin.....your in the wrong job. Looking forward to that....but not trying to find it in DACT missons lol

[Request] VMA-223 BuNo 165384 Leading the Pack Livery

Beautiful Skin thank you -
I have been disappointed at all the price carping. I appreciate that it is expensive for some. But the cost IMHO is reasonable. I usually enjoy this time where we get opinions and wishes for what's to come. I feel let down that it has been sidetracked. But I recall an instance of a machine being delivered when I was still in the MOB, (RAF), You could do it the RAF way, spend £186 million, for the base model, (GR4) then another £80 million to sharpen the nose, put concrete ballast where the stillnotreadyforproductionradar should have gone and call the squadron, 'working up' Tornado F3. Never put it up against F-15's and during the only war it took part in, make sure the f-15's are in front of it. So, I say again, I buy, because I know it's an investment for future enjoyment, I NEVER expect it to be 100% operational with all toys attached. I look forward to updates and thoroughly enjoy what I have. Never realised, see WAG's answer above, just how much messing about they had to do in negotiating. Thanks WAGS and all involved, been waiting since JANE's 1999....and I ain't getting any younger, We have never had it so good. IMHO

Hornet release date closer than thought.

Got mine, and glad to hear of the interview. We've waited patiently for these updates and I'm happy to pay for the hard work of the developers, and it's out, when it's out. I play this sim much more than any other these days. I'm no pro' pilot, I just enjoy the hard work of many others, Thank you all, Devs, Managers, contributers, extra gizmo makers and 3rd party anythinger's. Its an amazing system. If you get stuck, you just have to ask and people help, in THEIR own time. We just have to appreciate what we have, not pick over what we don't. It all takes time. IMHO -
You can buy over an IPhone, unless it's taken off in theatre? Download will still be on the pc at home, when you get there

Will it come with training missions and campaign?
flyingscotsman replied to fatboy's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
RATS! Och it'll be worth a try, I tend to make a short mission to play with the weapons and then utilise some of the other, better made mission that the community provide, Thanks for that -

flyingscotsman replied to fatboy's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Daft question. Can we just use the red flag module and change aircraft, your going to get lit up, painted, fired at, get to the target and use all your systems, just a bit mor quickly than the A-10C, or in my case, die faster. -
Auto carrier landing....I thought the Navy pilots prided themselves on getting on deck in any weather etc. I.E. if at first you don’t succeed, then Navy Pilot is not for you, lol. Il’ll still be testing that strong landing gear ha ha

I pre-order, & accept a short wait, I would expect to wait a couple of years for it to appear in a sale, that’s the time lag I’ve seen in other FlightSims, that do not also offer pre-order discounts. Imho the devs deserve our support. These things take years to make, a few weeks/months, no problem. Looking forward to whatever we get. Life is short, enjoy what you have, don’t waste time on what if, if only...it’ll all get sorted in time.

Reckon if my screen was lit up with incoming missile warnings, 240 sure looks not enough! :)

Thanks to WAGS and the team for this wonderful addition, sadly the threads I would have liked to have commented have been closed, but I'm really pleased with whatever comes, couldn't draw a bolt on a PC myself, so in awe of your teams efforts. THANK YOU. The link below can get you a real manual to your dropbox, I'm sure our aircraft will not 110% out of the box, but it'll be more than a couple of years before this old guy masters it. This just gives you a flavour of what the aircraft does, and we have to be happy with what ours does. https://publicintelligence.net/u-s-navy-f-18-natops-flight-manuals/

Request regarding cockpit light rotaries
flyingscotsman replied to flyingscotsman's topic in Resolved Bugs
I tried that but it didn't seem to work, but will get to it thank you -
Just a request in slow time. I must have to do about 20+ turns with my mouse wheel, to get the instrument light rotaries to 1/2 way. Could we speed this up. I watched a video on the F-18 indevelopment, and those rotaries kinda turn in real time. Just an ask if possible Thanks.

How to control aircraft when you are out of fuel
flyingscotsman replied to Beqanyc's topic in AV-8B N/A
Good luck with the dead stick landing basicly, it may mitigate some of the Flak your Squandron Commander will visit on your, now very short, career. Pull it off you might get a desk job in ops or a posting to Helicopters.(Ask quite a few Ops Officers) Mate of mine got a 'Good Show' award for doing this with a Jet Provost, fuel contamination but he had to warn the student that they might have to bang out. Just as well it was contamination though. -
Can I suggest, left Mfd to Eshs, and see if the HSI shows waypoints. Could then try to cycle through the waypoints. The HSI should track the waypoints, check the HUD shows the course line. Select also Nav from the left console, Nav, VTOL, A/G buttons. I.’m sure I only get the waypoints on the HUD in NAV mode. Is DMI on behind the stick? Hope this helps

Ok I watched it on utube, next morning in UK, Excellent video, oh look a Hind .... parked at the end of the peri track, lol.. The aircraft was brill, but the updated scenery, that was a game changer for me, so much more realistic in the way the hills, rolling hills as we see when actually flying, as opposed to knowing this computer generate...up to now. Just after take off the look left reminded my brain of part of Scotland (mountain skyline, I, be hunting out for a 2nd hand digital tv with a big screen.

NTTR info and mission by the 476
flyingscotsman replied to Stuka's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
Thank you, Put myself in the Harrier and had a zoom round some of the targets, kept wandering off track to investigate other sightings, it, just so much more interesting. Thank you for all the hard work. -
(GR)Gambit, thanks for the info, I found the cut off switch in the Adjust Controls panel, then moved the hotas over the gate and back a few times, button 29 came up. Fired up the harrier, brought the throttle over the gate and forward to start, great. Taxied forward and retarded the throttle to the gate, engine running fine. Thanks
