  1. Already putting in a request for this skin. From the Boeing Museum of Flight.
  2. First, you will need to place the unit on the map. Then you will see a Player option in Yellow. If you do not own a module, there will be no Player option and the aircraft will not be in Yellow. In my case I do not own the Harrier module. Client is available if you make multiplayer missions for others that have the module.
  3. Thank you. Works now. +1
  4. Reviving an old thread. I'm having a h3ll of a time getting custom liveries to work with the B-17. Is this still possible in today's DCS folder structure? I've read several threads from 2+ years ago, but nothing is working for me. TIA.
  5. Well it’s just a movie. Entertainment. There are much worse cringe worthy options out there. Let’s just be thankful that we get more cool Navy fighter pilot sh!t next year.
  6. You say “now”? Was VR not an issue before? What are you settings in-game? Are you seeing issues on certain maps? Certain missions/campaigns? Multiplayer? Run a repair of DCS. Get latest Nvidia drivers and do the clean installation option when prompted. Do you use oculus tray tool (OTT)? Check out https://vr4dcs.com/2019/09/15/rift-s-setup-in-dcs/
  7. Does your motherboard support NVMe M.2 SSDs? Pick up a Samsung 970 EVO Plus. You'll see a major improvement to load times and reduced micro-stuttering if that is an issue for you.
  8. Very common. Here are a couple of recent examples I've seen while on the road. Presidential HMX-1 squadron at Burbank, CA a few months back. VX-9 Vampires at San Jose, CA last week.
  9. OP, take a break from fixed wing flying and give helicopters a chance. Check out the UH-1 Huey or KA-50 module. It's a completely different view (and a ton of fun!) down by the trees.
  10. Check out this guide for VR setup: https://vr4dcs.com/category/reverb-setup/
  11. Software and firmware upgrade is what I received. Firmware version now 2.2.0 From the posted update log: Rift S Updated firmware to improve performance Fixes Various bug fixes and stability improvements
  12. CPU upgrade. Are you using an SSD for DCS? Consider an M.2 SSD assuming your mobo supports it. You won’t see FPS improvements rather smoothness and micro stutter reduction. Great videos btw.
  13. I have a 2080 Ti and Rift S. Happy with performance despite having an older CPU. But currently assembling a new comp (i9 9900ks, DDR4, etc). I’d recommend a 2080 Ti to future proof yourself for as long as possible.
  14. I'd recommend the Rift S. Best current VR $/performance. Plug and play. Easy setup. No tracking towers needed. No need to open up config files to recode the hardware. Give it at least 1 week of use, not just 1 or 2 days. Cheers.
  15. Current corporate pilot flying the mighty King Air 350. Home every night. No overnight bag needed. :) Former Captain on E-175, Q400, PC-12, Premier 1 and Saab 340.
  16. I have a similar setup. Same videocard, but older CPU and RAM. With most settings at high and PD at 1.6, I can easily hold 40 FPS at low altitude in populated areas. I used this guide as a baseline and tweaked it as necessary. https://vr4dcs.com/2019/09/15/rift-s-setup-in-dcs/
  17. Software side of things: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053 Watch this tutorial DCS Server Info and install https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/server_beta/ Hardware minimum and recommended specs: Open Beta Minimum system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; CPU: Intel Core i3 at 2.8 GHz or AMD FX; RAM: 4 GB (8 GB for heavy missions); Free hard disk space: 100 GB; Integrated video card; 10 Mbps internet connection or better. Recommended system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 8/10; CPU: Core i5+ at 3+ GHz or AMD FX / Ryzen; RAM: 8 GB (16 GB for heavy missions); Free hard disk space: 100 GB on Solid State Drive (SSD); Integrated video card; 50 Mbps internet connection or better.
  18. Hammer thanks for taking the time to make these videos. Like you said, a cellphone camera at 4K capturing 5k output along with compression loss during video editing and upload will not justify the XTAL’s performance. However the $7,000USD price tag is simply not realistic for the majority of every day gamers. As stated on their website, it’s for “Professionals”. Pimax headsets are within reach for some, but it’s all about price/performance.
  19. 8 years with my Warthog HOTAS. 0 issues. No mods. No stiction. ymmv....
  20. AH-64 and/or OH-58 would be an ideal addition to the battlefield.
  21. Rift S is my first VR headset. Been using it for a couple of months. My DCS settings are attached. Computer specs below. Tweaked it with this guide. PD at 1.5. Older CPU and memory, but with a newer video card I'm holding a steady 40fps (higher when at altitude). Been toying with MSAA 2X and off. :joystick:
  22. Following up on the replies above. I bought a Rift S and EVGA 2080Ti XC Ultra. Pleasantly surprised by the performance so far. using mostly high settings, I'm getting a consistent, smooth 40 fps. However, I do not have the Gulf map yet and I've read it's a bit more graphic intensive. Aside from that, my older computer seems to keep up with the new card. It's eating all of my other non-VR games for lunch without breaking a sweat. GPU temps 35* idle, low 50s under load. It might be overkill, but it should buy me a few more years. I have another week before the return deadline. I am considering buying a friend's used 1080Ti 11GB. Happy so far.
  23. I've been out of DCS World for a few years due to life and job changes. All settled and looking to hop back in with VR. Will my system hold up?? I'm looking at HTC Vive Pro, Reverb Pro, Pimax or possibly Valve Index. plan to get a 2080 Ti i7 4790k 32GB DDR3 Multiple SSDs Will the CPU bottleneck? Do I just build a new system to future proof? TIA
  24. The endings of 4 battles between these two legends. Seemed to be a wash in terms of "who's better". At least to me. The P-51 probably has an edge in tighter turns. I suppose it really comes down to energy management.
