Unclear if developped for DCS World or TBS: Source: http://www.thebattlesim.com/about/ The copyright indicates 2016 as date. In addition to the Eagle Dynamic's development staff, TBS also benefits from our partner companies that not only create new simulation content for DCS World/TBS, but they also contribute new technologies, research, and procedures to the larger program. Some partner aircraft projects for DCS World/TBS include: MiG-21Bis Mirage 2000C SA342 Gazelle BAE Hawk C-101 UH-1H Mi-8MTV2 F-5E New theaters in development: Syria, Crimea, and Afghanistan

Very well done. Thank you for sharing that to us.

I received the KW-908 yesterday. Very fast delivery! I directly installed it, downloaded the needed programs to run it and then launched a DCS World session through VR. At the first try, the system did not work. I killed the program and re-launched it. I set all the sliders at 100% instead of 50, checked the 'experience G's' checkbox and tried again. That time, it worked. After an hour in the A-10C, startup, flight, GAU8 shoot, aggressive low altitude maneuvering and landing, this is what I can say about the product: OK, more specifically, it enhance vastly the gaming experience. It adds great immersion. I had the feeling of being IN the aircraft even more than before. Of course you don't 'feel the G's' but the effect given convince me. It adds a lot of immersion. So, Thank you =Andre=! There is only one little downside: I have a 'playseat Airforce' chair. There are 3 belts on the KW-908 to fix it to the chair. The one on the middle (at the hips level) is too short for the chair. It lacks 4 or 5 cm to be effective. (the cord barely touch the plastic 'hook')

How a water bottle could've killed me - near misses in aviation
Cedaway replied to Pocket Sized's topic in Chit-Chat
I was student pilot in the Belgian Air Force back in time. I flew on Marchetti SF-260. During my first take-off ever, I got a big fright: Cleared for take-off, aligned with runway and gone full power. Speed builds up, I rotate.... and a big gust of wind just at lift-off. My left wing going up, right wing approaching dangerously the ground (fuel tanks in the tip). So, I applied left rudder to level the aircraft instead of using my stick. (During the after report with my IP, he said me that using the rudder was the smart move because, as we were near stall speed, if I've had applied stick, I could have stalled my right wing and... boooom!) I remember that after take off, I squeezed my stick so hard that if it was an olive, I could have made 1L of oil with it! My IP was super relaxed, his hands were still on his knees and he just said to me: 'Breath deeply, it's allright... OK, time to have fun, head to the training area...' During the rest of the flight hour I calmed down, even less stressed than the previous flights and all gone fluidly and smoothly. EDIT: Remember another story, funny this time: It was also during the first hours of flight. We exercised stall recovery at altitude. Generally, a wing stall (nearly always) before the other (boundary layer stuff...). So I reduced throttle, and waited for ages a wing drop. I was still nose up. And my IP just said: 'look your VVI just for once'. Oh crap, I was falling like a stone! I relaxed the stick just a millimeter and then whoosh, the nose dropped directly towards the ground. Very sudden and rough drop! Speed builds up rapidly and I could level up and get back to SLF. My IP said: 'Congrats, you experienced a deep stall in a Marchetti! Rough drop, uh?'. I smiled from ear to ear. That was a good day. -
I would advise the following: Water => low Heat Blur => Off Res of ckpt display => 512 MSAA => 4x DoF and Lens effects => Off Clutter/Grass => 0 Tree Vis => half Preload Radius => 80-100k Anisotropic => 4x Mirrors => Off Begin with those settings and if it is smooth, try enhance the sliders step per step... The fact is that running on USB drive is quite slow. Much slower than a normal HDD. Have patience...

Just ordered one this morning! Now I must be patient...:bounce::bounce: EDIT: Just received the order confirmation from Andre's e-shop. Thanks Andrey. Oh, And does the software supports Project Cars?

An article made of Steam stats... OK, that's deep investigation journalism! Anyway, the shares of CPU's and GPU's follow the 'Gauss curve' rule: 75% to 80% of the users will choose the mid-range models. The high end will be chosen by the 10% with the highest revenues. Nothing but normal. And I rejoing the comment of Goldsmack when saying that one of the many benefits of PC you can tailor your budget..

Upgrade CPU or GPU? Recommendations?
Cedaway replied to Reverze's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
My grain of salt: I would prefer a core i5-6600K instead of an i7-6700k. The only difference is in the hyperthreading ability of the latter, which is not used (correct me if I'm wrong) in DCS-World and it draws more current. You'll gain a hundred+ bucks for your GPU for the same OC capability and performances ;) -
Sorry bud but with your hardware, (Your signature: I7 4500U, GTX 740M, 8GB RAM, 500HD, Windows 8.1), it's the bare minimum to run DCS World. Considering DCS World runs effectively on your rig is a proof that the sim is good optimized. I don't mean to be rude at all, just an honest opinion considering the minimum and recommanded requierement: Minimum system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i3; RAM: 8 GB; Free hard disk space: 30 GB; Video: 2 GB RAM card, DirectX11 - compatible; requires internet activation. Recommended system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+; RAM: 16GB; Hard disk space: 30 GB; Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX780 / ATI R9 290 DirectX11 or better; Joystick; requires internet activation.

Or those gases causing static electricity in the turbine with the compression. Just a guess. But anyway, it's impressive.

F/A-18C + Carrier + Hormuz Strait's Map Spitfire and P-47D + Normandy map Eventually (I lie to myself because I already know it will be 1st day purchase): F-15E Strike Eagle Eurofighter Typhoon F-14 Tomcat. With all that, I'll be ready to see 2025 coming... What could enjoy me more are new terrain DLC's and a dynamic campaign system... Edit: and new clouds (REX like ) and animated 3D ground crew

Great video. By the way, I was pleased to see the F/A-18C logo in the menu screen. (7th from the right).

ED SIMS SCREENSHOT AND VIDEO THREAD!!!! (NO USER MODS OR COMMENT)
Cedaway replied to rekoal's topic in Screenshots and Videos
In Ace Combat 7, the graphic engine is Unreal Engine 4. The sky is rendered through 'SimulTrueSky' plugin. So this technology is certainly not compatible with EDGE T4. -

Perfect landing  -
Short answer: yes, it will work with your HDMI 2.0 cable.

I voted no. As the Tucano is in production, I'd like to see efforts spent on other aircraft or scenaries. Thank you for this poll.

Wait june for the GTX 1070 - 1080 release. Even if you're not interested in spending money on the top notch, you'll probably see price drops for the current gen cards. :smilewink:

Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway
Cedaway replied to Starway's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Starway's work concern Texturing the polygons. The 3D remains untouched so the 'pyramidal' mountains will remains... but those pyramids will be much more beautifully skinned. 3D work is still ED's job. -
As all the radar operations and emissions math are 'guesstimated' in DCS core, as well as the RWR and EC©M procedures, I don't see how a dev could simulate such an aircraft properly. As well as for the aerodynamics of this particular aircraft. Quite unstable as I read and not fun to fly because of its limitations. So, DCS: F-117 - Not for me. Thanks.

Some extracts from Reddit: [–]Wissam24Tanker pilot confirmed dick 3 points 4 days ago Poor choice of words I guess - I meant it'd be difficult to make it interesting or full of content, because of the tiny amount of land. I'd have thought Okinawa would've been a better choice because it's much bigger - but even then... [–]Cobra8472Leatherneck Simulations 12 points 4 days ago Okinawa on roadmap. ... Iwo Jima is just the first of many and represents a good, easy, first Pacific map. More info soon. [–]Teeter477Aviation Slut,Module Whore | Hoggit CSS | TCMC | 6 points 4 days ago I have the feeling that LN is working on an AI zero to go with the Corsair. Remember so long ago that they posted that shot of the landing gear modeling and it was a big thing to figure out which Japanese plane it belonged to? [–]Cobra8472Leatherneck Simulations 37 points 4 days ago We're working on a lot of AI and theatre content. More soon. Sounds like a 'semi-official' confirmation...
