  1. Want an idea of the number of airfield, airport, airstrips, heliports...? Follow the white rabbit. Each red dot is a place to land/take-off. EDIT: Here is another map (already posted in this thread)
  2. St George airfield, Laughlin, etc... There is myriad of airstrip/airfields around. I hope those will be modeled and functional, with ILS, lighting, VOR/TACAN and all the bells and whistles. EDIT: the topic is already discussed here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=80468&page=673
  3. The newsletter is great. Thank you ED for all those news. Seems like the team is really busy to give us wonder! As stated before, it's foreseen for Winter 2014. Winter begins 21 december 2014 and ends 21 march 2015... Let's say there is still room for improvement/bug fixing. It's not like part of us is waiting since 2011 ;) And if you feel you can share a video of NTTR in-sim in motion... (or Hormuz strait) That would be awesome with a big AWWW! OH, just a question: Back at the time the module A-10C was release (beta), there was questions about IR effects (trees, buildings,...) At the time, it was stated that the problem resided in the rendering engine and it was not possible to change that (can't find source anymore). Is the IR effects (rendering of an IR imaging on a MFD) resolved?
  4. The avatar image of Cobra is one that pop-up straight if you type 'goose' in google image... Is that a hint or a total confusion? Cobra, you like playing with us, uh? OK, with this such particular community, it's fair... ... ...
  5. Marines + "Tilt"? OK, V-22 Osprey confirmed!!!  1918? Oh, wait...
  6. I figured out that someone would add this... And thought 'naaaa, that's too easy, they wouldn't dare...' Morality, never assume or try to predict a reaction on the board ;)
  7. Great interview. But you should buy wearable mics. The sound (echo) is horrible and makes the speech hard to understand.
  8. F-35 vs F-16 = IPhone 6 vs IPhone 3: It has the same role but F-35 get more functionality, stealth, electronic capabilities,... and cost much more, just like the Istuff...
  9. I like the new stratus on the image. So soft-edged compared to what we have now.
  10. At this pace, I'll not hold my breath. But it's encouraging it's still in progress.
  11. As for the forum, a simple whois and trace informs that the forum is hosted in France, by OVH. Source For the website http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com, the IP 87.98.182.202 is also hosted in France. The signal start from France, goes to switzerland, USA, Armenia and then home (I'm in Belgium). Well, quite a good travel! See for yourself Edit: My concern about security is that I would like to see the forum login in https (SSL/TLS) instead of in clear like it is now. Someone listening the traffic can very easily grab our passwords and access to our account. And if you have the same password for the forum and for the website, a hacker can easily access to all our licences. Hopefully, the payment means need to be completed at each order and are not (does not seems to be) stored in the server. Edit2: I find it quite 'weird' that the sites are hosted in France instead of Russia, because of the Russian laws concerning websites hosting. Copy-Paste of an article I found: "Passed by the Duma on July 4, 2014. This legislation still awaits the Senate’s approval and Putin’s signature. The law, if passed, will require all websites that store user data about Russian citizens to house that data on servers located inside Russia. According to the legislation’s logic, websites will be barred from storing Russian users’ personal data anywhere outside of Russia (though the law’s actual text is somewhat vague on this point, perhaps because of jurisdictional limitations on what Russia can mandate outside its borders). The law applies to a wide variety of websites, ranging from e-booking services to Facebook, affecting any website or online service operating on the concept of “users.”" Source
  12. :megalol::megalol::megalol: So true! ...But wait... It's not that funny actualy, it's quite sad, isn't it?
  13. The Baltic region: I remember the game EF-2000, where we could hide in the endless fjords during epic missions... On the other side, maps would be really empty. EDIT: Or the Kola Peninsula from Jane's F/A-18E. Still empty but so much fun virtually there in the past.
  14. I nominate Silver Dragon
  15. Yes, I was about to edit my post... I've just read that too... Thanks.
  16. Already bought a licence... Your work deserve to be paid. But is it possible to have a access to the manual prior the module release?
  17. Do you mean it's already under test by the beta testers? Sure you're under NDA but your post would say you know more than the rest of us and you looks surely confident on the quality of the project... (No need to answer that one... NDA stuffs...)
  18. Great! Day one purchase for me too. Thank you LN. Wish you massive sales...
  19. Hope not, it's a wonderful centralized list. The only one in fact.
  20. Coasts of somalia, You can strike land targets and hunt pirates. But on the counter part, you would have no air resistance. Korea, Kim jong is going fubar and I let you imagine the escalation... (à la Falcon 4...) Syria/Irak, the IS/ISIS has empowered during the time and has a little army at disposal... that must be wiped. A USSR/Europa theater (back in the cold war) Carrier ops from the baltic sea or from the white sea... Taiwan vs China. So many possibilities...
  21. In the announcement of the Bf-109K4, I find a sentence very interesting: "Further maps will be available in 2014. " Sounds that EDGE + new maps are coming... We have now a 3 month time frame to have those installed in our computers.
  22. To properly model this effect, you would use Ray-Tracing. But it's not a 'real-time' rendering solution since it consume huge amount of calculation...
  23. :megalol: Wanna bet? :D
  24. Don't have permission to see the image...
