  1. Anyone have experience with this sound mod: https://official.echo19audio.com/portfolio/sound-design https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/user-is-IntrepidGamer/apply/
  2. Did a mission now with focus on smooth flying and not pull to many G's and all seem to be working very well. Thanks for the help! PS: I would guess the INS alignment goes out the windows in a dogfight?
  3. I must have had a brain fart. No wonder my INS was so wonky...Sorry, Heatblur! Will fly her some more and be a little gentler/smoother and not pull so hard on the G's to see if that helps. It is sometimes hard to feel how many G's you are pulling. Guess it comes down to experience. Is 6.5G the recommended limit, or should I stay even lower? Will general vibrations affect the INS? I don't want to give up this awesome bird.
  4. So basically be careful pulling high G's will make sure the INS-drift is not affecting weapons deployment etc on shorter <1 hour missions?
  5. I have to start by saying that the F-14 in DCS is a truly awesome plane. Myself, I am somewhere between a casual and semi-serious simmer. One thing that is a big problem for me is the huge INS drift in the F-14. Also it is difficult and tedious to reallign when you are flying alone. The INS-drift affects practically everything from navigation and HUD to bombing and landing. Which destroy the fun for me. Before you attack me and say that is how it is IRL, remember that I am a simmer who like to fly some missions and just have a good time. I don't have tons of time to fly everyday. I am close to changing to another plane with either GPS/INS or no INS. As I said I love the F-14 on all other areas. I want to love the F-14 all the way Questions Anyone feeling the same way? What is your best advise to reduse the issue with INS drift? @Razbam: I wish there would be added an option in the settings to reduce/remove INS drift, for the not so hardcore simmers. Other creative feedback is also appreciated
  6. Fixed the issue for me today with a new installed PC.
  7. Thanks, IronMike Adjusting "Helmet"-sound settings did the trick. Now it is perfect So happy with the F-14B. My favorite airplane. Both old-school and very capable.
  8. When I open the Jester menu, there is loud buzzing/humming static. I drives me nuts. Any way to turn this off or turn it down? Thanks for any help!
  9. When will the updated map be available?
  10. Looks great. When is the Syria updates planned to be released?
  11. I like old school jets like the F-5E. Love flying, piloting and flipping switches, and not all the system management as in the A-10C II. Do you think the Viggen would be a good fit for me? Appreciate any feedback form Viggen pilots.
  12. I am not sure what you define as fast head movement . I can fly the missions successfully and do normal head movements expected in a fighter jet. I have a good WIFI setup, and have had no issues with lag. But as with anything it depends on your WIFI and preference. There is minimal risk trying it out and you can test it and get a App-store refund if you don't like it. It works great IMHO, and I would not spend the money for a more expensive head tracker.
  13. New mission available for the F-5E on ED user files: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3315319/ This is an action packed Air-to-Ground mission that will test your skills with the F-5E. The mission can be played on FIVE different difficulties (choose via F-10 menu when prompted in the mission). The mission is interactive and have 25 triggers and 20 voice-overs, and took me abut 40 hours to complete. The mission is somewhere between casual and milsim.
  14. I use Smoothtracker on my phone. You find it in the app store. No funny hats and external sensors. Works great and very inexpensive at 10 USD (You need a phone, two pencils, 15cm duct tape and a rubberband ) Could not be happier.
  15. I have been working very hard (several months) to love the A-10C II. It is an EXCELLENT module and an extremely capable CAS aircraft. Often the strategy is putting the airplane in high altitude orbit and search for targets from a safe distance. The TGP (targeting pod) is used alot whatever strategy you choose. Flying is relatively easy. Basic navigation using waypoints and HUD likewise. For me the problem with the awesome A-10C II, is that it is more system management than flying. When you decide on which modules you would like to fly, it is ESSENSIAL to think about what you like the most. I went automatically for the modern (A-10C II) modules, but then moved to the older ones later (F-5E / UH-1H). Simplified: Old school: "Analogue and manual. Harder to navigate and destroy targets. Very rewarding when you manage (even basic things as) finding targets and navigating back to base" Modern: "Much more advanced systems (digital) and more technical system management focus. Easier to destroy targets. Rewarding to feel like you master a fairly current and modern aircraft." Some modules may be somewhere in between. My keypoint is to be honest and go for what YOU like. At the end of the day DCS is a sim/game (great one!). Spend the time in front of the PC in a way that is giving you the most in return. For me right now it is actually the DCS Mission Editor Happy flying!
  16. New awesome cinematic DCS movie featuring the Huey:
  17. Why do you refeer to the F-5E to "a starter"? Like it is something inferior to play for a short time before "advancing" to the more modern planes? Don't worry! Many do the same mistake. I can fly the A-10C II well and master the many, many systems and buttons. Still I feel the F-5E is much harder (and more fullfilling) to navigate and master to use effectively in combat. You have to get close and personal with the F-5E. No "cheating" orbiting 10-15 miles away at 10 000 feet and spot with the TGP, marking targets in peace and quiet and killing them from far away. Even the easiest A-10C mission can be very hard in an F-5E. I love the F-5E. Everytime I have played the A-10C for some time, I gravitate back to the F-5E. As many have said better, it is the pure joy of flying a plane and not a computer. Did I mention that it is awesome with analogue instruments and switches . Feels substantial and more physical. When you hit the target with a well placed MK-82 and manage to navigate back to the airport using visual landmarks if feels just plain awesome! Sure the A-10C II and F/A-18C are more deadly and superior in almost all ways, but the joy is much larger in the F-5E for me.
  18. Have not installed any mods before, but your "Better Smoke"-mod looked so good that I had to try. Installed OVGME: https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/OVGME Actually very simple and great mod manager. Installed the following mods in this order. Barthek Caucasus My Tree Dark Low Better Smoke Reshade mod Any warnings that file(s) exist from before, I chose just to the option in OVGME to overwrite. All mods work great and DCS is so much better looking.
  19. Just started to use the TTI-mission. Thank you so much for the hard work with the dynamic missions. Without your dedication and knowledge, we would not experience so great missions in DCS!
  20. Looking forward to this campaign.
  21. The news is one year old...
  22. I am practicing sling loading with the UH-1H. It is great fun, but the assistant is driving me nuts with the constant "The load is swinging side to side 5....The load is hanging steady..." Can I turn off the "chatter box" assistant somehow, before he drives me insane?
