Been looking for them too. No new units as teased in the Apache vids. -
A lot of good things (kneeboards, missions etc) are added for the Apache already, and it is to bad it is hidden under "OTHER"...

Had the same question, even though I guessed there were no special "HOTAS" buttons. Would have been awesome to have a "acquisition selection switch", same was as the "sight selection swtich". But again, then I must send a "complaint" to Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) BTW: The Apache module is just awesome!

The Apache is very demanding when being CPG and zooming on targets and smoke....My FPS drops to around 20-30. Usually in the high 50-60s

Civilian Objects And Vehicles

The mission with the "Civilian Assets Pack - Nautical" has been reviewed by nazradu. See the video here: -
It should. I would update the weather before flying as this mission is pre 2.7 clouds. I may look into testing/updating the mission this weekend.

The mod works great with OvGME, but you need to create the folder hierarchy (very simple). -

I asked the captain, and the evacuation was quite chaotic . Glad you liked the mission! Fun to make missions with such great assets. Awaiting with excitement for the civilian vehicles -

I made two versions, as not everyone have the UH-60L. They will not be able to change helis to others in the ME. I have had several who had tested the missions succesfully. Does it work for you now? PS: Version 2 is just released (same links) -

As promised I have been working hard on a SAR-mission with the "Civilian Assets Pack - Nautical" as the center of attention. The mission is in final testing and should be ready to be released in a few days. In addition to using several of the assets in the main roles, many of the others have been "sprinkled" on the map to create more life. The sinking vessels are just awesome and the rest of the models looks stunning. Here are a few teaser pics: -

I downloaded the package a few days ago and have tested. This is high quality assets. Especially excited to use the sinking ships and the LNG Carrier. Really cool that the vessels are actually sinking (over a 1 hour time period) and not just a static object. I am a mission editor and have already plans for an exciting SAR mission using this asset pack. Will post when complete. -
The conclusion is that there is no best solution. There are pros and cons with VR. As long as people understand this before spending lots of $$$. Flight simming is not cheap when you go serious. In addition to a VR headset you often end up needing/desiring: High end PC (and GPU!) HOTAS Table mounts etc. Many modules in DCS If you go monitor- or VR-way (or both) it is not free.
-
I have to kindly disagree. VR has a big wow factor, but over time there are too many disadvantages. Uncomfortable, sweaty, "blind". I really like the much better overview you have with a monitor / simpit setup. Extra monitor/PC for checklists, easy to find all buttons on keyboards/HOTAS without fumbling. VR is awesome, but when flying for hours on end, it is getting tiring. My flying buddy is also prefering monitor over his VR when doing CO-OP. As for pure immersion I am sure VR is much better, but as a total package I prefer monitor setup. Did I mention the huge performance hit, flying in VR?

Hi Silver_Dragon There are not many "low tech" units/objects available in DCS (e.g IEDs) I am crossing my fingers that Eagle Dynamics are working hard to develop more insurgent units/objects for asymmetric warfare experienced today (e.g Afghanistand/Syria). Also the addition of civilians is a must to create good (helicopter) mission scenarios and to keep people interested in modules, beyond the technical aspect.
