  1. I was wondering if it would be ok for the AI F-16 to gain AIM-7 capabilities for different scenarios. We have and AI MLU, the Taiwanese version of which uses AIM-7 and a block 50, the Iraqi and Singapore block 52 use. Could the AI versions get this?

    F-2?

So these seem to be the documents held by the US government that we can get(a few are mixed in we cannot). They had other documents including a manual, wind tunnel, flight test, and breakdown of the fly by wire but these are export controlled and or proprietary information so I don’t intend to make any requests for them. As you can see some of these are hundreds or even thousands of pages. two other documents I am also trying to get are a U.S. government trip report to MELCO that includes flight test data on the J/APG-1 Engineering model. That’s provisional hardware but it would be very useful in figuring out the scanning algorithms (this has been largely the obstacle with implementation of AESA in flight sims) and a follow up report which has the specifications of the T/R modules on the final production radar. J/APG-1 is fox 1 only (AIM-7F/M) so no AAM-4, but it still the aircraft I grew up loving. I would at least like to start a mod when I get some of these. Fox 3 missiles were fairly uncommon in east Asia till the late 2000s anyway. Also this version of the F-2 was a support fighter first so the primary mission is ship hunting. 3. I asked point blank and they said their does not seem to be an issue with 3rd parties doing a Mig-29 it seems to just be ED proper.
  4. Honestly all four of those would be useful for me. I’d like to do East Asian 90s and 2000s senarios.
  5. I believe the Mig was either before the police change or possibly inspired it. I might be misremembering too but I think it’s the case.
  6. Well supposedly ED doesn’t want nuclear in DCS. But if said bomber has conventional capabilities maybe?
  7. What’s still classified about an old Mig-29? I get that ED couldn’t do it, but what are we even missing that a third part couldn’t?
  8. You da man
  9. Yea I was just making a point about the availability of information not what version should be made (I would love both). If a third party took it up or was formed to take it up that would be great. Razbam has a Mig-23mld in development which is similar to the original Mig-29 in terms of technology. No doors seemed to have been knocked down, but Raz isn’t based in Russia.
  10. Mind linking it?
  11. The Mig-29 is extremely well documented, if current circumstances prohibit ED from making it a FF aircraft then I can think of no better aircraft for an aspiring team to develop as a module. All needed documentation can be provided for the original and a few people have mentioned having access to SMT manuals over the years. They allow it under some circumstances, but I just wanted to bring attention to the fact that the information is out there. A press copy was released and I’ve found screenshots taken a few years ago. Since it was made with SME and manufacturer assistance I thought it was worth a mention.
  12. http://web.archive.org/web/19991002084308/www.aha.ru/~gland/ we could see if we could find a copy of this bad boy and use it as a base for a Su-27m.
  13. I think captor is more likely the best mechanical scan radar in its class. The Swiss evaluation implied a longer range the apg-73 and RBE2 but not overwhelmingly. I also have this antidote https://www.timesaerospace.aero/features/defence/aesa-does-itor-does-it I would expect apg-71 and possibly apg-70/63(v)1 could exploit meteor fully and might brute force through jamming. blue vixen, captors forerunner was supposedly very good at maintaining locks and allegedly filled in coverage gaps for AWACS in the Yugoslav wars, so I think Captor is more the best in other ways then simply range.
  14. I honestly don’t think we’ll know anything until Jeffry is out of early access and out in the world.
  15. I wonder if this is hinting ICE. Peace Rhine I predates ICE but that would be a very odd Phantom to simulate. Apparently unlike the Greek modernized phantom the German planes pretty much have the same cockpit and Radar scope.
  16. Yea, the funny thing about the C hornet was that it wasn’t appreciably different from the A till a few years in.
  17. His accent is international man of mystery
  18. So apparently the F-4F got the ability to use AIM-9L in the first peace rhine update in the early 80s. Could the standard F-4 use AIM-9 natively? Is something being teased?
  19. I think the F-4F lacked sparrow capabilities which would kinda limit its use (and no reason an F-4E with no sparrow couldn’t fill in) unless they wanted to tease ICE, but that’s not slatted and it would be easy to tell. I think Germany also operated the F-4E too, im not sure the details of those craft.

    F/A-18A?

People ask occasionally but it seems like the only real use for it is RPing a time period. 35 degree AoA limit and underpowered engines, it seem kinda dull as a dog fighter. It’s not like say a viper where different versions have different strengths and capabilities.
  21. Kinda surprised a German F-4 was so prominently featured.
  22. Yes it is. But I’m assuming the phantom has priority.
  23. You might have a little trouble with a naval phantom in a guns only fight
