  1. Thank you!
  2. There is a brochure of the KLJ-1 listing all its operating modes from a mid 2000s zhuhai airshow. I’m trying to get a copy.
  3. Some excerpts of an early J-8II have been making the rounds on the Chinese internet in the last few months I’m inclined to agree.
  4. You flew the Typhoon right? Is it true scan speed is very fast and some kinda interleaving of modes is possible?
  5. https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/awg-10-wcs-and-apg-59-radar.26563/page-2 flight test data on the AWG-10 from the UK F-4K acquisition supports the other report

  7. Apparently scan speed is comparable to a PESA, 10 degrees in 30 milliseconds according to this old AWST. The radar also has interleaving in some capacity. https://bemil.chosun.com/nbrd/data/10040/upfile/200910/20091012204005.doc
  8. You could probably switch the in game Flanker model with the Flanker 1.0 model provided you can extract it. I’d actually be really curious how it would look with DCS lighting.
  9. Oh I have my Rafale sim manual you can use. Here is the creator talking about it and his background with the Rafale. https://web.archive.org/web/20070324213332/http://www.france-simulation.com/articles/interview/interview_6.htm I have some white papers mission computer https://adsabs.harvard.edu/full/1996ESASP.375..111N http://www.artist-embedded.org/docs/Events/2007/IMA/Slides/ARTIST2_IMA_Cornilleau.pdf “RADANT” antenna https://apps.dtic.mil/sti/pdfs/ADA301940.pdf https://patents.justia.com/assignee/thomson-csf-radant https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Phased-array-radars-in-France%3A-present-and-future-Colin/5dce01f2422021108ebd4209f4f34fd39e38af2f https://www.thefreelibrary.com/Rafale+radar+begins+flight+trials-a013412897 OSF paywall https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1995SPIE.2552..893S/abstract The book “Rafale Marine” also has test data from the carrier compatabity trials at Lakehurst.
  10. There was a pretty good clickable mod that unfortunately vanished.
  11. It was once so! I guess lung cancer got her.
  12. Hey bignewy, I originally found that in an article in The Paper which is a Chinese online news paper. Given the nature of press in China I assumed this was ok. Still I spent the past few weeks finding out the source to be sure, it seems to be from an article in the March 20th 2002 article of Janes Defense Weekly. With this information in mind is it ok to post the diagram going forward, would it also be ok to post the non cropped version from the original publication and key? I can produce the link to The Paper article if needed. sorry for the trouble
  13. @uboats I was doing so research and I was wondering if you knew the answer. I have an old Aviation Week and Space Technology article. It refers to the KLJ-7 as a KLJ-3 with a smaller antenna. Janes claims the same thing but they call the KLJ-3 the KLJ-10, which I think is wrong. Is this true? Looking at both radars it doesn’t seem certain, I’m sure they have a lot of similarities coming from the same company but I can’t find anything definitive. https://web.archive.org/web/20121028055642/http://articles.janes.com/articles/Janes-Avionics/KLJ-710-Fire-Control-Radar-FCR-China.html
  14. There is a 34 page intelligence brief I’m trying to get my hands on that might have some useful information. I’m hope for the possibility of an AI 9.15 coupled with the new General Flight model. It would be a beast as an AI asset. incidentally their are published papers of the modern Mig-29K 9.41’s digital flight control system. That might be worth looking into. http://technomag.edu.ru/en/doc/500331.html
  15. It’s from a brochure at the Zhuhai airshow probably 2006, or at least there was a brochure for the type 1471 at that airshow that listed all its modes. I’d like to get my hands on it as the Type 1473 in the J-10 is a full waveform development of it.
  16. I posted a bit on the development of the JL-10 used in the J-8F for those interested.
  17. Try a FOIA with the USAF ADB199135 The Su-27 4/5/1995 NATIONAL AIR INTELLIGENCE CENTER WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB OH 160 pages I have a request for a 34 page Mig-29m document and a Mig-25 manual. I also know the names of some documentation related to the Mig-23, 25, and possibly 31.
  18. It doesn’t technically hold true for 20 and 25. 25 was the first C in 1984 and predated GE engines. 20 was used retroactively for F-16A sold to Taiwan in the 90s. Unlike other MLU aircraft these where new build aircraft and where structurally more similarly to a Block 32 but with an F-16A small tail.
  19. someone posted this a while ago, thought it interesting.
  20. F-2

    Different Variants?

https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/145422665?utm_id=0 very detailed article on the JL-10 and JL-10a, which I “think” is used on the J-8F. Would be good for either a future version or a refined AI.
  21. https://www.key.aero/forum/modern-military-aviation/129695-f-35-news-multimedia-discussion-thread-2?p=3021418&page=137 Apparently the F3R AESA uses the same modes as the previous PESA with the new modes and advanced scanning algorithms to come in F4. Interesting, another possibility meteor carrier.
  22. That mach 3.5 speed is near ASRAAM territory. PL-8 will be a menace
  23. That’s really interesting! By chance do you have the r550 II numbers?
  24. I’m talking IRL mind you. Currently different missiles in DCS are on different API and being standardized. I’m not sure if PL-5eII is better than AIM-9m in real life, maybe it is but I wouldn’t use dcs as a source, at least not until it’s all standardized. To be clear I do think PL-8 is better then AIM-9L/M I just think it’s constitutes a relatively marginal difference, same with Magic II.
