It’s a duel developed module? That’s kinda cool.

Oh I would love that!

Like the F/A-18C but what are the Super Hornet differences
F-2 replied to ruddy122's topic in Military and Aviation
Compared to our hornet with the 402 engines the Super hornet has worse STR, loses energy faster, and has much slower acceleration. Avionics are about the same between our hornet and a block I super hornet, later super hornets have much more advanced systems. The super hornet has much better range and payload. https://books.google.com/books?id=XCcLAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA30&lpg=PA30&dq=F/A-18E+sustained+turn&source=bl&ots=VDPtcyELXn&sig=UJf5CawaEWf0_qeoPm5grVY5xT4&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CDkQ6AEwBWoVChMI5OyCgpmLyQIVTzqICh1-KQ9S#v=onepage&q=F%2FA-18E sustained turn&f=false its worth pointing out our hornet is basically the Rolls Royce of hornets. With the old F404-ge-400 engines the old hornets where something of a dog and markedly worse on all the above mentioned perimeters. The High AoA that’s the hornets bread and butter in DCS actually only came about in 2003-2004 with the 10.7 fly by wire software update, the super hornet had this from day one. The Hornet was fairly unremarkable as a fighter till the combined engine and fly-by-wire update, before that it was its cutting edge avionics and multi mission capabilities that made it a big deal. -
I’ve always been interested in the 80s mig-29m. The first true soviet multirole, it went a long way in correcting deficiencies of the earlier 9.12/9.13 models. Much more modern radar, a basic glass cockpit, fly-by-wire for care free handling, much more internal fuel. I haven’t found reliable weight figures, but it seems to have have suffered much less weight gain then later Mig-29s with uprated engines. I’ve also unclear with the G limit. On one hand it seems to have been designed to avoid the mach .85 G limit of the base model on the other hand I’ve read the lithium aluminum had not been perfected by the end of the program limiting its high g. so is anyone more familiar with this version of the aircraft interested in commenting?

SAFRAN planning. New techgnologies for M-88 engine.
F-2 replied to Thinder's topic in Military and Aviation
Rafale A is actually larger then the production Rafale in part so it can fit the F404 engine. -
That’s the scenario, your a Swiss pilot fighting off hordes of the Neoviking coalition looking to control vital Swiss chocolate reserves.

I know it was at least partially clickable.

Their was a pretty good mod for a while, though it’s been MIA for a while.

It’s unclear if anyone has bought it yet. Would sure be cool though.

Is uboats profile pic an easter egg for next Deka module?
F-2 replied to Rinz1er's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Well it’s a J-10b/c/p. If it’s a module or AI is another question. J-10 just got it’s first export order this month which was something that would need to happen for it have some plausibility in DCS, and the cockpit avionics of the JF-17 are supposedly very similar. But… I’m just not sure how likely that is. The export version is from what I’ve heard very similar to the J-10c used by the PLAAF and that’s sort of like an F-16v or block III super hornet. The J-10B has seemed plausible enough to me in the past, but… it was never exported. So maybe but until Deka says something I’m not assuming anything, only they really know. -
Could be a B which was an interm standard produced in a single batch.

DCS: J-11A is not J-11. More of a modernized SU-27SK(?) FLanker
F-2 replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
I believe the ambition is to add MFI-55. I don’t know if they plan on adding it but I do believe the N001VE is the correct radar? If those do end up being added, I have no idea if they will it should be about as good as any 2000s flanker in air to air. Same capabilities as the Su-27sm in a2a just without the ground. Less able radar then the MKI and MK2 but with better kinematicly. You don’t get to much better till the J-11b and Su-35 in the 2010s and we don’t have much from that time frame yet anyway. still I think what we have is correct for the J-11 in its early years. -
https://web.archive.org/web/20050126235856/http://www.indiadaily.com/editorial/12-24e-04.asp it seems that the N011m as of the mark III revision (the first with Indian components) could simultaneously fire two R-27 missiles at two separate targets or four R-77s at four targets. It’s not clear from how the article is written if this is a capability gained with the mkiii version or if the author is just listing the radar’s capabilities and this has been present in prior versions.

I believe the issue with Dassault is trademark. “Mirage” and “Rafale” are trademarks and no one is given permission to us them hence M2000. Even ace combat games use M2000 and RM01/RC01 rather then the real names. I doubt they would interfere with one of their customers (The French Air Force for example) commissioning one. That happening or not it totally another matter but here’s hoping!

It was 2.6m resolution originally (same as apg-63 demonstrator from the early 80s) then it was 1.2m after 1995 upgrades due to the gulf war. By comparison Captor-D .3 meters N011m 10 meters Irbis-E 3 meters N036 .5 meters APG-83 1 Foot APG-81 inches judging by pictures

Dassault Super Etendard Modernisé ( or not) (French carrier OPS)
F-2 replied to Ashayar's topic in DCS Core Wish List
The modernized SE has a pesa that would be cool. -
Didn’t some of them get the al-31f-m1? That would give a similar thrust to weight to the Su-27s. Given the crazy stuff the Su-33 can do with the canards an uprated Su-33 might be very formidable.

Sounds like they should be more or less the same with the R550 being a little better then at least Lima and maybe mike but only very slightly. So it seems current implementation is broadly correct.

I don’t believe the XL ever got any avionics? I could be wrong and it had whatever F-16 of the day had. I’m perfectly fine with no product aircraft provided they actually where combat able. I’d actually like to propose that aircraft that where built but never equips would be perfect for community mods. The XL for example has tons of documentation through NASA. Imagine taking it to the Navada map and using it for DACT? Same with planes like the YF-23, perfect as sparing partners.

I’m sure you guys are right. I’m not picky with it being added rather then changed. Just that it seems the SU-30 as simulated currently is an SM in all but canards tvc.

Your correct, I believe the Angolan ones due though? Several articles mention them carrying “Bars-r” and being “KN” standard https://www.defenseworld.net/news/24830/Angola_Receives_Last_Batch_of_Su_30K_Fighters_From_Belarus the .LUA sensor for the Su-30 in game is .n011 so from a game play perspective it’s correct. my suggestion is simply keep BVR and sensor capabilities the same but add canards, tvc etc to make it more interesting in BFM.

Hello with the recent announcement of the new GFM flight model I thought I would make this suggestion. the Su-30 in game either is or most closely matches the Su-30kn. The Su-30kn was intended as a low cost modernization for the Russian Air Force. It would use a PESA array and serve as the “eyes” for more conventional flankers and fulcrums. The KN never seems to have been adopted for Russian service, though the standard was recently resurrected for Angola. however the general concept was resurrected in the Su-30sm. The SM even uses the same radar the kn simulates, the n011m. With its post stall capabilities it would be a very unique way to display the GFM. It is also more accurate to what’s in use and can stand in for a larger number of aircraft. beta of an old MKI sim that was publicly released for the sake of feasibility. Thank you for your consideration.

So the physical hud is the same as a mirage 2000c hud because they were looking to sell it to the UAE who at the time only used French equipment. Is it the same symbology?
