I believe Macdonald Douglas did or at least was heavily involved with the Kai upgrade, much like Boeing is right now with the on going F-15 upgrade. As for the missiles the Japanese defense agency had fairly detailed data including live testing on their website till 2002. You can still write the Mod and request it. Data on the AAM-3 is posted and discussed on the war thunder forum right now.

Oh yes yes. I said might but without the emphasis. But if it becomes known it could be interesting.

R-77-1 chances with improved battery and lofting?
F-2 replied to Hodo's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
So I looked into it and Serbia ordered 200 R77-1 for its Mig-29SM aircraft which are the same as our Mig-29S but with more robust ground attack capabilities. The Serb version has a N019EM which is the export version of our radar. A few other SM operators have R77-1 but I can’t confirm if that’s the intended platform. I don’t think the N019 has the range to fully exploit it though. -
We have Python 3. Deka added the Pl-8 a while ago. I just don’t think anything uses it. I’m curious how it compares to pl-5, aim-9l, magic II, and R-73.

That’s the one we used to have too crew would be cool
-
Any reason we can’t mod the in game pl-8 and see how it does?
-
Python 5 might actually be accurate for our F-16 https://www.f-16.net/f-16-news-article2044.html also has anyone ever managed to use the Pl-8 in game? What’s it like? How does it compare?

The sea harrier wasn’t really ready in 1982 but they put their foot down and sent it to the Falklands. Given that we are not simulating a real historical event I think it would be hard to argue with that. also Iraq has several kills listed for the Super 530d as opposed to 530f in 1988.

If you ever do I would love that. Thank you! do you know if this version ever flew? Or was it a mock up only?

The last year of the Iran Iraq war some Iraqi kills are listed as super 530d. I’m not sure if it’s accurate but it’s worth noting
-
This is old but I’ve always been really curious about it. What information would I need about a specific radar system to model it adequately in DCS? What are the minimum known pentameters you need to know for say a FC3 radar? What about something more complex?
-
I’ve quite a lot of back and forth with wen RBE2 got certain features for example. so I tend to just lean conservative on this unless I see otherwise.

The f1-m53 (superior to our f1) was considered 90% as capable as the mirage 2000. The mirage 2000 with the updated m53 struggled with the Mig-29 in Indian service. Against the later Mig-23 our F1 would struggle but might match well with early versions. Similarly the F-4 has the potential to be a tough target. The Iraqi F-1 with upgraded weapons was capable of killing F-14A in the Iran Iraq war.

Is uboats profile pic an easter egg for next Deka module?
F-2 replied to Rinz1er's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
You where right, I guess you really are the PLAAF. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/chinas-j-10-fighter-spotted-in-new-big-spine-configuration also apparently the J-10b might have used an AESA. Just a different one then the J-10c. If that’s true I’ll take a wild guess that it isn’t happening. Unless they got the ability to make a J-10a and switched their AI asset to a B/C/P -
hello, I wanted to ask this here since Deka has better access to Chinese language sources and insider sources then anyone I know. I wanted to ask about an early version of the J-10 powered by an R29 J-10. I have no question it existed but I haven't been able to conclusively prove if it was a mock up (albeit a metal one) or a prototype. https://m.sohu.com/a/524597001_260616/?pvid=000115_3w_a https://www.zhihu.com/question/54961782 https://m.haiwainet.cn/middle/3541083/2018/0323/content_31285340_1.html this is NOT 1001 Intake was different and the rear fuselage was more narrow. avionics where supposedly intended to be closer to the Lavi anyone know if this was a mock up or a full size aircraft. Some Russian sources I found claim it was which most Chinese translate to mock up but I'm not sure about trusting translation. It was all metal and had a WP-15 (R29) installed which seems unusual. If true it flew seven years before the J-10 we know. supposedly it was active uptil 1993 before the AL-31 was selected.

If I recall the issue was that the Ja-37 and Jas-39 used a classified data link? I recall hearing that. I’m not sure if that would apply to export Jas-39 or how Sweden joining NATO will effect that.

J-10 vs J-11 in BFM performance
F-2 replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
I’m assuming he’s talking about ITR to make the statement compatible with the Pakistani evaluation. Note this is a J-10a. https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/chengdu-j-10-vigorous-dragon-fighter.506/page-4
