I've logged filthy amounts of hours in the Ka-50. And I can definitely tell the difference between 1cm extra collective needed on my throttle. But I haven't checked the pitch angles, I thought ED made something with the curvature of the collective. I've logged more then 20hours in 1.2.0 and now I'm used to the 'new' collective. Would be nice if Nate did the same tests as the previous poster to confirm. And perhaps be a little more careful to throw those placebo pills around.. ;)

Oh, i frapsed a quick video to show how i save DL targets, using DL Ingress and Auto turn to target. The rocket run was just for the luls, and i tried to zoom in so you could see on the HUD, and i got confused. I never zoom in when i play normal. K, video uploading, should be viewable in 10-15min.

Whenever i reset my Shkval I press ground moving target and/or auto turn to target depending on what my next move is. So when I see a little moving bugger 3km out, I just need to lock him up and fire, and not see the Vikhr hit 20m behind him. Flying the shark is all about being a few steps ahead. Always scan the surrounding terrain for good places to hide, or good positions to engage targets from. Never leave a safe place without having at least one new safe place you can divert to.

Well, in 100% certain i need to raise my throttle (collective in game) higher then I did with previous installs. It's not an issue at all, it's probably with the curve mapping or something. You notice this especially during takeoffs and hovering. The needed IRL travel is something like 1-2cm more than before.

Increase the trimmer release time for non FFB user.
Dejjvid replied to redpiano's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
If you tick that box, all control input will be ignored until you recenter both stick and rudder. So if you release trim, and do not recenter your controls, you'll notice that no one is flying your shark. And you will need to recenter everything, and then continue to fly. If you don't tick it, your controls will be considered centered after a short period of time (less then a sec, someone else can fill in). The only negative thing about this approach is that you will notice a small bump if your not fast enough to recenter the controls. I fly with the box unticked, because i rather have a bump from time to time, and not loose control when im not recentering the controls. -
8000ft if it is a vehicle from USA.

Any incoming tweaks to the way the AI interprets your waypoints? As it is now they try to follow the track instead of the heading. And that causes total chaos when you order 5 vehicles line abreast to turn 120 degrees to either side. I would like the group to do a smooth turn to the new heading. Not to step on the brakes, and then try to turn. The result is often a big furball and it really annoys me. And we must be able to select units like you do in 99.99% of all RTS titles on the market. Simply drag a box around the units you want to select. And split up a group in 2, and group different units with CTRL+1 like you do in RTS games. CA has a lot of potential but we need a few game critical changes and additions. I will elaborate tomorrow when I'm not in my bed writing on the iPad. Just wanted some constructive feedback started here.

Yes, a toggle. Just like the handbrake. Would do the job just fine. And while we're at it, add a center turret button too. So you can align the turret and chassis by holding down a key.

Someone (from ED) said it's not implemented. But I dunno if it's WIP, probably not.

On release day my squaddie was hammering enemy ground forces with paladins. So as far as I know they're working.

What type of icon are you trying to hook?
-
Not recommended. I suggest you remap it.

Yes you can! I've made a escort mission for the masterarms.se community. We're gonna play it tomorrow, I will try to fraps as much action as I can. We tested the mission today, and it's awesome to see the intense ground battle and see the Ka-50's unleashing unhealthy amounts of rockets at the same time.

I bet a RADAR UI is on the wish list, and it would be awesome to have. But it's fun as it is anyway. Just hide in a sneaky place and fire away. Then haul ass to another position, rinse and repeat.

DCS: Black Shark 2, Version 1.2.0 Available
Dejjvid replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
If you've had BS1 installed before. Install it again, don't worry about the activation and run BS2 world installer and it works. No need to start BS1. And I guess you can run protect.exe and activate and then install world. I had the same issues yesterday and it worked. -
I haven't tested the A-10C yet. But i noticed the Ka-50 had better flares. Is it a new 'global' flare or is it just the Ka-50 and A-10C that have the new flare?
-
I got a laser warning yesterday. Pretty certain it was my squad mate.
-
First impression? Well it's awesome! See the JTAC pop red smoke and Ka-50's and A-10C's going in and unleashing filthy amounts of rockets at least made my day :)

No use in keeping the old stand alone versions now. Ka-50 and A-10C is released for World now, so no more beta. Just P-51 and CA that's still in the beta cycle. So download world, and install the modules you've bought. Su-25 is free. And BS1 doesn't work with World, so you have to upgrade it to BS2. (well spent money) :D

DCS: Combined Arms Pre-Purchase / Open Beta Available
Dejjvid replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Combined Arms
I had to use firefox. Chrome didn't work. Now we just need the Mig-21 and the Su-27! :D -
Have the Russians upgraded the few flying Ka-50 with RWR yet? Would be awesome if they existed. Then ED could implement it (+ MWS) and ED would earn 20$ more for the upgrade.. :)

You can ofcourse control the larger sam systems. But not in first person :)

What's your technique for flying the Shark smoothly?
Dejjvid replied to Stretch's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
My Ka-50 activate Altitude hold automatically when i activate hover mode. -
I'd say it feels more like 3000lbs/min max. Gonna test it later tonight

What's your technique for flying the Shark smoothly?
Dejjvid replied to Stretch's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
It is alot easier to fly with FD OFF if you learn to anticipate your moves. Trim the attitude you want, and leave it there. Look outside, check the ABRIS, retrim again. Feel the chopper. I promise you, flying is secondary, if you want to be a successful killer machine. You must utilize all the systems, at once. That's why Kamov designed to AP in the Ka-50.
