  1. They can't, the forums would explode. Better to do it the 'Apple way'. Don't say anything, and suddenly BLAAM! The whole industry is changed ;)
  2. They will show detected enemies on the F10 map though.
  3. There's only a few 'black' helicopters out there. One is buried at Usamas old house. Nothing special except they're modified to reduce the RCS. They still can't defy gravity.
  4. I go on vacation next week. I plan to have an open Ka-50 training session that's free to join for everyone. I'll post more details in the multiplayer section later.
  5. Have you confused yourself with the JTAC stuff from CA?
  6. I've jettisoned my engines many times in flight. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's not... :joystick:
  7. Learn to fly without it, after two days you'll love it!
  8. There's a million ways to fly the shark. I press the trim button and keep it down before I move cyclic and rudder. When I'm done with the turn I release the trim and the helo fly where I want it to. Check my short vid in the datalink thread in this subsection for a quick look. Regarding targeting, the shark is super fast at engaging targets if you have a track ir and know the direction of the enemy. Just place the sight over the enemies and hold down "uncage shkval". Fine tune with your hotas and lock. Most of the time I make an attack run coming in at around 200km/h. But if I need to be sneaky, I hover behind building and slide out to either side and shoot. Try multiplayer, find a server with a TS3 server and join up. There's loads of people who are willing to help of they have the time. Edit: iPhone autocorrect don't know shit about simulators....
  9. I believe they were way too accurate in previous versions. I get around 95% hits in 1.2.0. Only the ones fired really low that tend to go under the surface and end up at Lucifers place.
  10. For the Ka-50 I use curvature 10. In the A-10C I use 32.
  11. China hat FORWARD long to slave all sensors to SPI. Aft long is to slave the TGP to the active steerpoint IIRC. With the wrong steerpoint active you end up looking somewhere else. Makes sure that the elevation is correct too when you create the new waypoint.
  12. You don't lock thing with the TGP, you track things. Just so we don't have any confusions here. The TGP will try to track what's inside the box when you're in Point mode. When you zoom out, you increase the size of the box. So the moving target you track is smaller, and the TGP software get a much harder task to find out what to track. Look at TGP videos from YT, at least the newer pods auto detects the size of the moving objects and adjust the size of the box so it's fits perfectly around the moving object. That's not implemented in our pod. And don't mask the pod when you're in point mode, if you see an M in the lower part, you are masked. And only use point for moving targets, use area for stationary targets.
  13. There's a few critical chapters in the manual. Eg the CDU pages. My advice is to have the manual in front of you while messing around in the game at the same time if that suits you best.
  14. Sorry, I've never even tried game mode, so I can't help you with that.
  15. Yes, you are too far away. It's working as intended. And while you can go to manual mode and hit targets ~8.5km away, it's not recommended. I think you get launch permission around 6.8-7.2km or something. Look for the "C" in the HUD and Skhval
  16. Haha Eddie, I was just trying to be funny about that 'orbital' setting. I will punish my self with 20 situps.. :megalol:
  17. Orb is just for those odd angels 80 GBU-12 drops. But it's neat once you need it. :pilotfly:
  18. Let me help you: 1. Do your engines shutdown if you fly inverted on full throttle for 20 seconds? 2. Can you fly inverted from Batumi to Senaki airport? If 1= 2=:music_whistling:
  19. If you are in a steady hover AtTT will make a smooth turn. But, depending on your trim, the auto turn feature only have a certain amount of control authority. So if you're not trimmed correctly, it might not have enough 'force' to yaw the helicopter. It's just a matter of practicing. :) And my advice is that you should only practice with one system at a time. So you don't get confused when you encounter conflicts. So leave route and descent mode off. Start experimenting from a stable hover. Then add more challenges when you're confident about the targeting systems. It's a long learning curve, don't make it steeper then it has to be. I still learn every time I fly, and I've flown the shark since release.
  20. For a succesful SEAD/DEAD mission you need to have a solid wingman. (for qualified systems) One down low, flying NOE, one up high sending targets. Then it's all about grabbing those balls of steel and go for it! :joystick:
  21. Hook up on TS. Almost every 'dedicated' DCS server has it's own TS3 server. I've only met really nice people online. And check the squad directory in the multiplayer section. There's both hardcore squads and more casual squads out there. Good luck!
  22. Thank you Yo-Yo! Nate you owe us cookies!! :)
  23. There's a checkbox when you select a unit. It's next to activate later or something.
  24. If you are sliding left/right to fast, the Vikhr will miss the laser beam. I've fired over 200 Vikhrs in 1.2.0, I have not noticed anything strange. The misses have been pilot errors. Eg, not selecting GMT, side slipping or breaking off too early.
  25. I can make another video on Thursday when we have a squad event. So you can see how we use the DL in action.
