Memory advantage 8 GIG vs 16 GIG?
Dejjvid replied to Fakum's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
SSD is the best upgrade in computer technology since the cpu itself. Says it all :p srsly, get an SATA3 or better SSD, you are not gonna believe how fast your computer gets. -
Memory advantage 8 GIG vs 16 GIG?
Dejjvid replied to Fakum's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
16GB is nice to have. This is my usual RAM usage. Chrome 800MB DCS 3GB uTorrent 300MB Random pr0n 4GB Windows 2GB So, i could've survived with 8GB without any problems at all. But when the upgrade from 8GB is 30$ (you DO NOT get an SSD for 30$!), i figured, why not. -
The nosewheel isn't perfectly centered, i bet it has something to do with the issue. Someone with a Phd should be able to confirm or tell me that im stupid... ;)

have u checked wind speeds? Try it with no loadout aswell..

It's funny as hell flying on public servers with people that always go full throttle. After an hour or two people start to drop down and die without being shot down. rofl :megalol:
-
Wuuuuuut? You don't want a flyable fighter until they sort out a wake issue?
-
Thanks Olgerd! (btw, i'm writing in an epic thread)
-
And i don't think you are allowed to do that anyways. Load up with illumination rockets. After a bit of practice you will be able to support yourself.
-
Correct. PATH is used for maintaining a climb or a descent +/- 10 degrees. ALT/HDG is used for flying straight and level on the current heading. ALT is for maintaining altitude, and bank. So you can use ALT when you need to circle on a specific location.

Thanks Viper!

The game records the track automatically. After you end the mission, you see a "save track" button. In the lower middle part of your screen is a "watch track" button. CTRL+Z increases the speed, and Shift+Z reverts to normal speed

No need for 1.0 anymore. The installer is updated and 1.1 and 1.2 works fine to upgrade from.

If it isn't the AP bumping your heli in your track, you have an ogre hanging from your stubwing trying to get loose...
-
You are bumping all over the place every time you trim Viper, that is what Bucic is writing about, and many other players have complained about. You are fighting the AP all the time, if you can't see that you are bouncing back and forth, i suggest you try to hold the trim down, manouver, then release. Do two identical tracks, then compare.

I've had this too, had inf at 3.5ish according to the range finder. No targets locked (night), after two bursts, i had to lase again, because it dropped back to the same value every time. I was at around 450 AGL, no obstacles in the LOS. (or anywhere near it). The inf was standing on a parking space on an airport.

Did a search but didn't come up with anything. Don't know if it a driver problem (using latest Nvidia stable drivers) or BS2 problem. We did a simple MP mission, one A-10C and one Ka-50. During the first 10min in the mission, NVG's work perfect, there's no pixelation at all. The pixels grow larger and larger the longer you play. You don't even need to have the NVG equipped for them to decay. I've provided two screenshots. Once is after ~20+ minutes, the other one after ~40 minutes. As i wrote, during the first 5min of the flight, NVG work perfectly and they slowly start to malfunction. If you remove the NVG's, the image is perfect. 1920x1080, everything maxed out.

Did you try to reload TAD or Load All?

If you don't hook up, just go a little lower and try again. If it's still not working go abit higher again. You'll soon learn to 'feel' the correct position. You should be able to see the whole belly of the tanker. Remember that the curves doesn't remove any control input, they just make the center area less sensitive. If you need to roll/pitch faster, just move your joystick further away from center. I had my X52 around 45ish. And my TM Warthog is 32ish. It's just a matter of what feels best for you. I have no curves on the throttle, i want it the be direct and crisp. If i want to increase speed with lets say 1 knot, i just nudge them up, and nudge back again after 1 sec. I'm talking small nudges here.

Letter to Eagle Dynamics regarding BS2

Many games state that Notebook isn't supported. As in they have crappy gfx chipsets that doesn't fully support Dx/OpenGL. I'm very aware that more and more gaming notebooks is hitting the market. I've played loads of games on my notebook aswell while traveling, so I know that most games can be run even though you have an old or underpowered GPU. But you can't buy a game and demand a specific FPS. Especially on a notebook.. -
MWS is as far as i know designed to detect the plumes from missiles and rockets. Flares are designed to mimic the engines of the aircraft, and to create a more tastier target for the IR seeker. If your thesis is correct, the MWS should activate every time an F16 is nearby with afterburners on. I've flown close to F16's and F/A18's in multiple missions and did not get any MWS warnings. And they had AB on.

Your only cue that you can give consent for weapon release is a small indication to the left on the hud, below the speed. It should say 'MAN REL'. When it does, HOLD DOWN the weapon release button until it is released. Have DSMS page visible so you can see that it's released. Else you will get a hung store, and if you don't drop it within 15 sec, it's wasted.

Doing AAR with trim only would be very hard. You don't need super perfect trim to AAR, just make sure you don't roll, and that pitch is somewhat zero. I have my curve at 32, it's a breeze to fly formation and AAR if you compare with lower curves.
-
Yes, but then again, AGM's are missiles.. Flares are not.

2 hrs for me. The hardest part was learning to ignore the boom. I only look at the tanker, and really quick glances at the colors. I do really small adjustments of the throttle, if i need to increase power, i nudge up a tiny, tiny bit, then back again. If it's not sufficient, i nudge up again, and back. I reckon i adjust throttles once every 3 secs. Edit: Forgot, i tried AAR during early beta when i had my X52, i didn't succeed. The joystick is way too flappy for me. If i'd try again with X52, i would adjust curves too about 98...

Writing in a legendary thread. Unbelievable.. Someone has to do a reality check, and btw. are notebooks even supported? Very few games is afaik.
