I have installed this mod CH-47F Reduced Cockpit Textures [2K, no MipMaps] and I am now enjoying 140 fps with an excellent quality. I was not happy with the "medium" quality textures but with this mod the quality is awesome and the performance excellent. I know we all hope top have a better solution without having to use mods but at least on the meantime, this helps a lot.

This is a nice idea but it is not fixing the issue with the FOV vs Font size in the Chinook. I have tried with a font size 46 and if you increase the font size in this lua, there are some important data fields that are "boxed", for instance the magnetic heading in the PFD where you cannot see the whole number well since the digits are too big. I do fly helicopters with glass cockpit in real life (AW139) although not the CH-47, and numbers and fonts are made to me easy to read at one glance. Having to play with snapview or zooming inside the cockpit although a temporary solucion should not be "the solution". I hope the devs can take a look at this at sometime since this the the human-machine interface and at this time is not optimal. Other helicopters sucj the Apache or the Kiowa also have MDF that contain easy to read information the way it should. Please when possible, fix this. Thanks!

The helicopter displays the ETE as "hour and tenths of hour" but the correct unit would be Minutes and tenths of minute. Here is one screenshot. One with a WP at 9 NM and with an indicated airspeed of 88 knots. The time to fly there would be around 6 minutes at this speed however the indicator shows ETE 0.1 while it should show ETE 6.0 more or less Could you please fix this. This feature it is actually quite useful for precise navigation, accurate TOT and for coordination with other aircraft while the actual indication of "hour and tenths of hour" is not useful at all. Thanks

Complete Transport and Logistics Deployment - CTLD
Furia replied to Ciribob's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
Hi guys. Although I do know in real life the OH-58D does only carry 2 pilots, I am planning some missions where the Kiowa Warrior "simulates" the MH-6 Little Bird without mast or hellfires and I would like to have the possibility of adding an extra 4 soldiers as the Littlebird can carry I have tried several ways to add the Kiowa to the list of aircraft either by aircraft type using "OH-58D" or "OH-58D(R)" or even using the pilot name but I do not manage to get the CTLD menu and to load troops. In the same mission I can do it nicely in the UH or other helicopter types. I would like to ask if the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior could be used to carry 4 extra soldiers with CTLD or there is an impossibility for that? Thanks!! EDIT FIXED !!!!! the script recognized the helicopter as "OH58D" and not as "OH-58D" or "OH-58D(R)" it works now !!! -
When we are dealing with FMS one of the most important items would be navigation database. While in MSFS we have been using Navigraph for years, I am not sure what are the plans for this on this tittle. Most aircrafts that we do have in DCS until now did not used such kind of navigational databases. it is true that we do not have too many airports to service compared with MSFS numbers but still I do not think this has an easy solution in DCS, so I am eagerly looking forward to see how the development team has approached this

In the previous Anubis C-130J Mod we had the capability of loading, transporting air droping, LAPES or ground offloading vehicles and then drive them with Combined Arms. There was also a way to drop paratroopers with that mod. So I have great hopes with this payware module

Same here !!! Great memories and a lot of flying with that addon We already have a great selection of platforms to launch MK-X, GBU-X, AGM-X, AIM-X.... DCS also need to expand other roles and options and the Hercules and the Chinook are great platforms for that. The C-130 has always been one of my favourite aircrafts of all times so I am really happy to have the option to fly it in DCS.

This is the information available in the FAQ on ASC Discord

Thanks. This looks most useful ¡¡¡

Really awesome. A dream come true for DCE !! Thanks for the video

I would love to have this option. I do never touch a new aircraft without going through the manual. Having the manual even on its early state and missing sone future features would be most welcomed.

Purchased !! I have been waiting for a quality C-130 addon for long time !! Looking forward for its release !!

We do need the option to have CASE II when the appropiate meteorological conditions prevail. You can of course practice or fly missions the way you prefer but at this moment the existing build does not provide CASE II ATC when CASE II meteorological conditions exists unless you add rain that is not an element part of the CASE II criteria.
-
Although it does work this way, I am afraid that this is not the solution for the problem. Rain should not be as precondition for CASE II. It does not mention rain and if you remove the rain in our actual build of DCS there is no chance to get a CASE II so the bug remains. We should be able to get a CASE II. I am attaching a track where the carrier provides a CASE I acknowledging a "Solid layer at 2000 feet and visibility 6 miles" I have tried countless combinations and it simply goes from CASE I to CASE III but I have not been able to get a CASE II. Of course we could add rain but that may have an undesired effect in other aspects of the mission. We should be able to get a CASE II when the "official" CASE II conditions are met without the need of rain. Would be also great to give the editor the possibility of setting the carrier "CASE" condition through triggers so you can practice CASE II and III without having IMC conditions but it is just a wish. But currently we do have a bug where the carrier does not acknowledge properly the current meteorological condition criteria and unless you add rain or snow, there is no chance of CASE II. Please fix it! No CASE II.trk

Case II \ III - which weather conditions in DCS trigger each one?

No CASE II.trk -
Thanks Flappie. We wanted to used that ship in our next campaign but having only a single spawn spot is not working for us.

Any campaing where the management of AI wingman is not required?
Furia replied to Furia's topic in Baltic Dragon
Thanks Baltic Dragon and Colonel Akir. I think these campaings look awesome but sadly doing „anything“ with AI is not my gameplay. I bought the original Ravel One plus other authors campaings and is some cases I did not even finished mission one. I do understand that for most players and in line with realism there need to be AI flights and wingman but that is not for me. I know I am a minority here and I do not ask for any changes to the existing model I started this thread with the hope that there may be some campaings available that may not require AI Wingman. I have read all Kevin Miller books and I understand that to reproduce the whole story you need those AI wingman. No complains from my side but it is not how I like to play DCS. Thanks a lot for the prompt answer I believe those campaings are really awesome and with a huge creativity effort !! -

Does anyone know if the last campaing from BD can also be played without playing without micromanaging the AI Wingmen as comented above? -
Any campaing where the management of AI wingman is not required?
Furia replied to Furia's topic in Baltic Dragon
Hi. Thanks a lot ! Very interesting and useful information thanks! I do not want to depend on the AI performance to complete a mision neither I want to spend time giving instructions to the AI wingman. As I mentioned I am not used to do that and that is not my playstyle. I like complex, demanding and "realistic" campaings as possible being well aware that single ship is not actually realistic. I am trying to avoid the F10 micromanagement of the AI and most important that I do not depend on the AI performance or lack of it to complete the mission. At thi moment I was looking for a F/A-18C Campaing preferably a naval one but based on your comment I am going to take a deeper look at Artic Thunder. Thanks!! -
Hi guys, I'm looking for a campaign where the "management" of the AI wingman is not required. I understand that in real life no fighter flies solo, but I am not interested in managing DCS AI wingman in any way. I've been flying DCS since 2010, mostly online with my virtual squadron doing Coops, so I'm not used to or interested in managing AI wingmen. I'm fine with them there flying along and doin their thing, as long as I don't have to deal with them via radio menu. I've bought a couple of campaigns that I never finished because of this issue. I understand that this is my very personal opinion and choice, and many people have no problem with it and even enjoy the functionality of wingman AI management, and that is absolutely fine with me. I'm simply seeking out campaigns that could be successfully completed without managing or commanding the AI wingman. I've seen videos of attractive campaigns, particularly for the F/A-18C with the Supercarrier that could be interesting for me, but only if they could be completed without managing the AI Wingman via menu radio. If you have completed any campaigns that did not require managing the AI wingman, please let me know. Thanks!

In a scenario where the text added in the ME in the SITUATION text box (not tested in the BLUE or RED task boxes) is long, if you select a OH-58D Kiowa Warrior pilot slot, the whole DCS crashes to desktop, but if in the same scenario you have for example an Apache or other type of aircraft and you select that aircraft, the simulation loads perfectly. It just crashes when you select the Kiowa. Deleting or reducing the text solves the problem. I think this is related to the fact that this text is related to the Kiowa "notebook" limitations, but this should not produce a full DCS CTD. See attached evidence. From Berlin to Fulda is more than 400 Km so this should be quite a large map and considering the very dense populated areas and the huge ammount of infrastructure, I am very happy that Ugra is the developer doing this project. Would be nice to have an specific forum section for this terrain.
