  1. I have the same question. Currently looking at the HF8. Any suggestions?
  2. Sorry, I meant at the bottom of my post: i9 10900KF 3.70GHz (5.30GHz Turbo), MSI RTX 4090 OC 24GB, ASUS Z590-E GAMING Motherboard, CORSAIR Vengeance 64GB DDR4 3600MHz, 2TB Intel 660P M.2 NVMe SSD, Virpil Alpha Joystick, T-50CM3 Throttle, MFG Xwind rudder pedals, Pimax Crystal VR.
  3. My specs are in the signature.
  4. I am a first time Pimax customer with a pretty high end system (see my signature) and I recently upgraded from a Reverb G2 to the Pimax Crystal. I have had the Crystal for two and a half weeks with approximately 30 hours of usage. I use VR strictly for DCS. The short story is the Crystal was worth the money for me. Excellent clarity, better FOV, better sound, and better darks. Compared to the Reverb G2, this is a definite upgrade to the next generation of VR. Based on all the horror stories I had read, my biggest apprehension was dealing with the Pimax company. I pre-ordered the Crystal beginning of May and received an e-mail for payment beginning of July. Two weeks after payment, I received another e-mail telling me there was a delay in shipping. Pimax apologized for the delay and, as a token of gratitude for my patience, they gave me a $30 credit for their store. The revised projected shipping date came and went. A week later I created a support ticket inquiring about the status of shipping. An hour after submitting the support ticket, a Pimax representative replied back to me that the HMDs were shipping that week. The next day I got my shipping and tracking number notification. Less than a week later I had the Crystal in my hands. Set-up of the Crystal went smooth with the exception that the supplied powered USB hub had a loose jack. I submitted a support ticket and also contacted a Pimax representative on Discord. Within 24 hours Pimax advised a replacement hub would be sent out ASAP. The biggest issue currently with the Crystal is battery life. The HMD hardware IS able to keep the battery charged without the use of the supplied powered USB hub or battery hot swapping, but it is hit or miss. Initially I was able to put 14 ½ hours of DCS play on the battery without needing to change it. I lost HMD connection due to that defective power hub and after that I could only get 2 hours of play before a battery swap was required. The battery hot swapping does not work in DCS and requires a restart of DCS. Changing HMD connections directly to the motherboard without a powered USB hub suddenly brought back the battery charging. I currently have a little over 10 hours of play without a battery change being required. There is also a work around utilizing a charging port and additional cable to the HMD that provides unlimited battery life. Pimax is working to resolve this issue. There are many features of the Crystal that are in beta testing, including wifi, improved controller tracking, improved battery life, eye tracking, auto IPD, and dynamic foveated rendering. My experience with Pimax has me convinced that these features will become a reality, but if any of these are an IMMEDIATE MUST HAVE for you, then I would recommend waiting to purchase a Crystal. I found Pimax customer service to be good and quite different from the horror stories I have read. In the short time I have owned the Crystal there have been several updates to the software and firmware. This shows Pimax is working hard to improve the HMD. The release of Pimax’s Crystal and its current issues are common with PCVR. Even the Reverb G2 (which is now considered one of the best “plug and play” VR headsets for the PC) started out with firmware/software problems, cable issues, and even such basic features as an ON/OFF button were missing. I think the Pimax Crystal is the best VR headset for DCS currently. For the price, performance, and current features it is a good upgrade. As the new features come online it will only get better. It is a lot of money, do your research, and I hope this helps.
  5. If you are happy with your current VR experience and not sure, then wait. At least until it is available on Amazon where they have a 30 day money back guarantee. I did this when the Rift came out and was glad I was able to return it. Couple years later I got the G2 with the same return policy and have been using it ever since. VR is VERY personalized with regards to fit, visuals, sound, etc, and buying from a place that allows full money back returns is the smart way to go. That said, I got my Crystal yesterday and I am thrilled with it. You are right that coming from a G2 it just makes sense to upgrade to the Crystal. Hope this helps
  6. Thanks for the reply. Yes, it appears to be a terrain elevation problem that only affects the P-47. All files are updated and I have posted this on multiple DCS forums with the track file. All I can do now is wait for a solution.
  7. Thanks for taking a look at this. In the track I sent, I used a folded gear for repair, but the bug exists even when the landing gear is in perfect condition, down/locked, and there is a different item to repair. On the track I did have the gear handle in the correct position.
  8. A flying buddy and I have run into a problem when repairing aircraft. We were flying a mission in the Normandy 2 map at Saint Pierre Du Mont. In P-47s, once the repair is complete, it drops the aircraft onto the surface damaging the gear. Using Spitfires in the same mission the repair works as normal and sets us down gently. This is consistent both in multi-player and single player. I attached a file showing the issue. server-20230626-123727.trk

  10. I found this review helpful.
  11. I use a wireless left thumb trackball in VR. Makes it easy to manipulate the switches without having to take my hand off the stick.
  12. We are using cold starts and have waited extra time to make sure the INU is at .0012 accuracy before lifting (this worked in SP). We have also tried resetting the INU. No difference in either case when flying MP.
  13. I have not been able to get any reliability with the Lima Hellfires when I act as CP/G with a friend flying the same Apache. The Lima's either impact off target by about 200 feet or hit a different target than the one designated. We have ensured the INU is below .0012 accuracy, both LOBAL and LOAL, and IAT on/off without success. I have tried the Lima's in SP and they never miss, so I appear to be doing the launch procedures correctly. At one point I even had eight in the air at once in SP and all hit. Attached is at track file. Airfield Assault-20230519-170110.trk
  14. Going to have to check this out! https://palmspringsairmuseum.org/programs/open-cockpit-saturdays-p-47-thunderbolt-5/
  15. Probably had volume turned down. Works fine now. Thanks again for a great campaign.
  16. On mission 12 there was no "Ride of the Valkyries" music. All other sounds were normal. I had music in the other missions including the Outro. Which audio setting in the main menu controls that music? The campaign was fantastic! I thank Reflected Simulations for all the hard work and have recommended this campaign to my friends.
  17. Thanks, that did the trick!
  18. When flying the Huey since the latest patch, the controls input and gunner ROE overlays default to on. I have unchecked the overlays in the menu with no change and have to turn them off at the start of every mission. I fly VR and have the ROE bound to HOTAS, but it is an annoyance having to use the keyboard to turn off the controls overlay. Anyone else have this issue?
  19. It is like buying a lottery ticket and then fantasizing about how you would spend the winnings.
  20. I see. Thanks for the clarification. Wasn't rushing you and thanks again for all you have done for the DCS community.
  21. Thank you so much for your efforts!!!! Does the new version include the new re-projection that has been in testing?
  22. Took me some trial and error, but I got MR working now. After today's patch, what I do now is make sure OXRTK has both DCS and Opencomposite checked. I then start "Mixed Reality Portal" (Not the STEAM version), Voice attack/Vaicom, then DCS (without the --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR) . Now re-projection works as it did before.
  23. Same here. Re-projection still broken.
  24. I routinely visit the last original, flying, A6M5b at the Chino Planes of Fame museum. I have seen it fly many times. The info is out there.
  25. SoH are you still using OXRTK reprojection for game play? I too could not believe the smoothness flying the Mariana's in a UH-1 with it on. If they could get the reprojection anomalies reduced just a little bit more it would be perfect.
