  1. I found the silicone cover for the face plate to be one of the best upgrades. More comfortable and easy to clean. https://us.vrcover.com/products/silicone-cover-for-hp-reverb-g2 The other upgrade that I really like is the VR Balance head strap cushion set. It counter-balances the display head, eliminated several hotspots when wearing the headset, and makes it easier to adjust the sweet spot of the display from session to session. https://vrbalance.net/collections/vr-balance-1/products/pre-order-vr-balance-2-for-oculus-quest-2 I have tried pretty much all of the FOV mods and, for my face, the stock face plate fits best and is most comfortable. Hope this helps
  2. I had something similar when I moved my system around. In the SteamVR environment (the one with the grid and mountains in the distance) I noticed that the arrow on the "floor" was offset and not directly in-front of me when looking down. I opened the SteamVR dashboard with the G2 controller and re-centered the view by looking straight ahead and clicking on the button that has the little person with a circular arrow around them. This solved the problem for me. Just too bad you can't use the mouse on the SteamVR dashboard, but it is a minor annoyance. Hope this helps
  3. Having been a Thrustmaster HOTAS customer for over 20 years, I can wholeheartedly recommend going with the VBK/Virpil/Winwing next gen of controllers. I switched to Virpil HOTAS and MFG pedals over five years ago. The accuracy and feel is immediately noticeable. The TM gear required me to maintain/replace parts at least once a year. With the next gen gear I have not had to give it a second thought.
  4. I find I need 1 1/2 notches nose down trim, the rudder trim set right into the "TRIM" label, and aileron trim right about 2 notches. Also avoid rotating too soon. With the Mossie, more speed means more stability.
  5. Request for launch is "Salute".
  6. No luck here with the Mossie either. I don't even get it to recognize one command.
  7. I had the same issue. Had to manually log in. Then I got the modules back, but wallpaper stayed on the default. Changed my wallpaper back and everything seems okay now....weird.
  8. I had severe motion sickness issues as well. Short, gentle flights build tolerance. The mistake is to go too long, which will result in feeling nauseous for hours or the rest of the day. I also found sips of club soda helped. Took me about a month before it became a none issue and could fly for three to four hours at a time. The G2 clarity and price are hard to beat right now.
  9. Interesting. I may have to revisit the Marianas map and see if it is flyable in VR now.
  10. Interesting. I use the F/A-18 SuperCarrier Cold Start - Persian Gulf mission with fpsVR as my benchmark each time. With just SteamVR Home disabled, I noticed only about 500MB freed when in the mission. When I added the "Empty Room" to WMR it freed up an additional 1.5GB. I have gone back and forth on these settings several times and the VRAM usage/savings is consistent. I am hoping Speed-of-heat can check this out with his great attention to detail/analysis.
  11. I found this on YouTube and I tried these settings. I got about 2GB of VRAM freed up on my 3090.
  12. I realize this is an extremely old post, but is there any chance we can get the same mouse controls that are on the Mossie starter/coil for the Spitfire? For VR users it would be nice.
  13. Thanks for the quick reply. I did a DCS repair and I was able to end the mission.
  14. Any word on a fix? Ran into the same problem today.
  15. Make sure Voice Attack and Windows are using your VR microphone. On my system there are two microphone settings. One for my normal system and one for the VR headset.
  16. Yeah, not the height of fashion, but $30 compared to $130, you make allowances. If you don't like swapping glasses/headset, have other family members who use the headset, or just want try out a VR headset without spending a lot of money on new eyeglass frames or inserts this may be for you.
  17. Perhaps a modified version of the VR canopy limits used in Aces High III. When your head hits the canopy limit the whole cockpit view just moves in the direction of the head movement. This lets you know you have hit the canopy limits without causing disorientation. It also does not give the VR player any visual advantage. Modify that feature with redefined head tracking limits when the canopy is open. Just an idea
  18. Thank you very much! Looks like this program is deprecating.
  19. I cannot get this program to start up correctly. When I start up I get the error: System.Argument.NullException:Value cannot be Null Reading the past posts this error was fixed by update to version 1.8.0.6, but I cannot seem to update Kneeboard builder. I checked the automated update box on set up. If I don't set a file path for DCS install then I can get into the program. Clicking on "Help" and "Update" within the builder program does nothing. Any suggestions? Is this app still viable post 2.7 DCS? Thanks
  20. I found a cheap alternative to VR prescription lens inserts. One thing that bothered me about my VR lens inserts is that every time I took the helmet off for a moment (get a beverage etc.), I needed to swap my glasses with the helmet. I bought a pair of optical swim goggles with my distance prescription (in my case -5.00 in both eyes). These goggles are low profile and fit in my Reverb G2 with plenty of distance between the goggles and the VR lens. They even fit with the "FrankinFov Deluxe" mod. Now I can take the headset off and still have my distance vision. The best part is that these are stock diopter lenses so they cost about $30. I chose the "inner eye" fit, but there are several options to suit different head shapes. I have worn them for a couple hours in the headset and found them comfortable. If you are near-sighted and require the same distance prescription in both eyes then you might want to check them out. Here is a link to the ones I got: https://www.amazon.com/Speedo-Unisex-Adult-Goggles-Optical-Vanquisher/dp/B085GGJM3L Hope this helps
  21. Just ordered my new cable under warranty with no questions asked. The support tech stated cables are normally considered "consumables" and do not need to be returned. The exception would be if you received your new cable along with a prepaid return label. The "Return Procedure" is just a generic advisory. This is the second time I have dealt with HP support and each time I have been very impressed with their high quality of customer service!
  22. Just make sure HP has a 30-day return policy if you don't like it. VR is VERY personalized and the experience is not a "one-size-fits-all" endeavor. Amazon, Walmart, and Microsoft all have 30-day "no questions asked" return policies.
  23. Vaicom also has a kneeboard extension that allows you to dictate. Just bring up the kneeboard, tell it to "start dictate" then read off the coords. The coords will be in your notes for the rest of the mission.
  24. Yes, Wags on YouTube is a great way to start. You can then search YouTube and other sources for more specific info. I would suggest you create a simple mission to practice with the different features of the radar. Set up your F/A-18 in air start, throw in an AWACs for spotting, and then several enemy aircraft (at least 100 miles out, unarmed, and at Rookie level to begin with). Once you begin to feel comfortable with air to air then add ground targets to the mission to work on the air to ground radar. On the practice mission I created, I gave myself the choice of air or carrier start, an air tanker for refueling, then air/ground/sea targets grouped in different sections of the map with waypoints to each section. By creating your own training mission you learn to use the mission editor and the surprise element is taken out of the mission so you can concentrate on the aircraft systems.
  25. Showing the same gains on frame times. Little bit more shimmer, but worth it.
