  1. I think nearly everybody who played Janes Longbow 2 will get it. It just belongs to a rotorheads hangar Also, don't get confused by the silence in this forum. It's just because of PCs decision to stay silent until they are ready (for understandable reasons). Once it is released, there will surely be more than enough buyers.
  2. There is a rubber cap on top and on the bottom side. If you remove them, you get access to the friction screws.
  3. Use the kneeboard creator
  4. Working on it, but I guess it will take some time. There is a huge distraction on the horizon (Apache). As soon as it is ready, I will open a new thread for it.
  5. The firing solution type that exists in the other tank simulator also exists in DCS (aka tracking mode). It's just that most people do not use it, because they probably don't know how to use it correctly (I am currently working on a tutorial). The problem with the simplified DCS version is that it works on every vehicle, also a simple mounted MG with no optics and computer (IIRC). Tracking mode is only available in modern tanks that have such a system. Additionally, the simple version ignores some limitations of the "correct" firing solution in tanks. If you use modern tanks, it is not such a big issue, because the simple version actually has some drawbacks when compared with tracking mode. For example, the calculation of the solution takes some time and you might loose sight of your target while chasing the aimpoint. But for WW2 battles it is simply unrealistic and unfair if only some people use it.
  6. Here is the list posted by Wags. So we are still missing 5 if they stick to it.
  7. They are usually not announced. So nobody knows the exact date (except ED, of course). But if Wags can keep up his current pace, it will drop today or tomorrow.
  9. Here are some tracks. I used 100 vehicles in total with 5 different types (HMMV, BTR-80, T-55, T-72, Bradley), 20 of each. I flew a Hornet with full afterburner lower than 100ft. In the first test I flew directly over their heads. I passed them twice. Once coming in at their 12 and once at their 6. In the second test I passed them at a distance of 300 (closest) to 450 (farthest) meters. I tested the lowest and the maximum AI skill level. Here is what I observed: direct pass with average AI: 3-4 hits direct pass with excellent AI: 4-11 hits 300m pass with average AI: 0 hits (that's not 100% true, in one pass there were 4 hits... on some other ground units in the way ) 300m pass with excellent AI: 1 hit I should further mention that I did several more of the direct passes, I just realized later that I should save all the tracks. So for the excellent AI the hits on the direct pass were on average 6-7. Also, I just used the keyboard, so the flight wasn't the smoothest (In case you wonder about my poor piloting skills). So for starters, not flying directly over the enemy helps a lot. I can't judge how realistic the number of hits is. That's up to you to decide. I just delivered some data. Also note, that not all units fired. I did some counting for one test and it were 54 bursts. So 26 per pass. @NineLine One interesting thing was that always during the second pass (I took a new plane for each pass) the hornet started rolling without any input shortly before I got to the targets. Wasn't easy to counter it with the keyboard. Is there a known bug report regarding uncommanded sudden rolling? If not, I can create one if you confirm that there was something strange going on. It is in all off the tracks I attached, at least I can't remember that the problem didn't occur in one of the tests. EDIT: Regarding the described rolling problem during the second pass: Its not a bug. I just realized that I most likely hit my own wake turbulence that I created with the first pass. DCS really has an awesome level of detail. 10.
  11. Pretty general answer. I'll take it as a "thanks, but no thanks" regarding the tips offer
  12. Well, the collective is mostly for better immersion. It doesn't make flying helicopters easier. What really helps is a stick extension. Also, what exactly are you strugglung with? Maybe we can give you some tips.
  13. Hallo zusammen.
  14. Once you figured out how to fly the Apache and utilize all its systems, I bet there will be plenty of content here: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/81-missions-and-campaigns/ If not, try this: https://github.com/dcs-liberation/dcs_liberation
  17. We might get a-pa(t)ch-e soon: Sorry for the bad joke
  18. Would be nice if you could post a screen of the statement.
  19. But in contrast to a Tunguska or other SAM/AAA systems, you don't get a warning that they are there and they are easily overlooked. The threat is their "stealthyness", not the missile they fire. I think that's what @BeastyBaiter was referring to.
  20. Just want to wish all of EDs employies (and our community members too) all the best, regardless were they live and work. Stay healthy. Hope this is okay to post. One question: Does "imminent release" mean: "get prepared to immediately take two weaks of vacation"? Or is there still some time.
  21. Das bissl Federweg reicht niemals.
