  1. Also: For the F-16 it seems that the "Combined Task Force" (or whatever it is named) faction has all liveries available. At least it had the US, Japan, Greek, Israel and Turky liveries.
  2. Currently I have the problem that my DCS bindings for the CP #3 are regularily reset which is kind of annoying since it takes some time to configure it and switching between multiple planes makes it a real pain. I guess it is recognized as a different device sometimes because I also had cases where the bindings returned in the next session. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? I run everything using an USB hub and reconnect everything before I start flying (can't leave everything build up). I am also not sure if I ever used the VPC configuration software to set up the panel, maybe I try this today. I don't have these problems with the VPC #2. Any clue?

  3. I did make a setup, but for some reason DCS is not memorizing my setup (follow up thread inbound). I used the 5 way dial for the Countermeasures System dial so that I can switch the jammer quickly on and off. You usually just need 3 positions but the switch in the cockpit is also a 5 way, so it fits I used all the switches to cover most of the startup stuff and things I need to access quickly since I play in VR. I should mention that I also have the CP #2 and a Warthog throttle, so I have lots of options. Generally, I try to keep the order of the bindings close to the real cockpit setup if I bind multiple buttons that are close to each other. Helps me to remeber the bindings when under pressure. For example, I used 3 of the 4 lower switches to map the FLIR, Laser and LST switches. The beauty there is that you got one 3 way switch and the FLIR switch is also a 3 way. I think I used the 4. button for the OBOGGS which is a real pain to flip in VR. The buttons above I used for the RWR buttons. Master arm is obviously bound to the corresponding button on the panel. The switch to the left I used for the 3 way dispenser switch so I can switch to override quickly if needed. I used the round buttons to cover the wall dispense button, take off trim and fcs reset. The engine crank switch is obvious. The dials are used for the jettison function (push to press jettison) and the radar dial so that I can silence the radar fast if I need to. 2 of the 4 left push buttons are a-g and a-a mode buttons. Still WIP. I think I move the wall dispense binding to my collective with black hawk grip which serves in planes as the panic panel (eject and other emergencies) cause it is easy to grasp in VR and I regularly miss the button on the panel when I need to hit it.
  4. thx I will try this.
  5. Are there any news on this subject? Yesterday I had a missile hitting my target way before the A-timer got to 0. That's what got me digging out this thread. I am lately practicing on BVR/Airquake multiplayer servers and those extra 5 to 10 seconds you stay hot can make a huge difference when evading incoming missiles. A more accurate post launch indication would be really helpful for my survival chances. I am already making a lot of other mistakes that get me killed, so there is no need to fool me with wrong numbers
  6. I am also thinking about that. But I don't think that i need a 3d printer for that. I will probably use the existing screws and add something in between
  7. correct I am no tank expert, but as far as I know, the stabilization should be realistic. The gun of a modern tank should keep pointing into the same direction regardless of what the driver does. If this is actually a feature of the stabilization or an individual system, I don't know. Maybe someone else does. I gathered all my knowledge from the old tank sim "M1 tank platoon 2" Yeah, its a pitty. I am under the impression that many people just use the module "the wrong way" because they don't know that there are actually a lot of really nice "hidden" features that make CA awesome. So they get to the conclusion that CA doesn't have enough to offer, because nobody shows them how to use it "the right way". For example, just setting a route for your squad on the F10 map, turning on the auto-pilot and then firing at some targets while moving using stabalizer, tracking mode and mouse axis mode is just awesome. But most tutorials on youtube don't even mention those features... maybe we should create some tutorials...
  8. No it doesn't affect the tracking mode. Just the calculation of the aim point when locking a target. The tracking mode is actually something that exists in real tanks while the other mode is just a dcs thing. Furthermore, tracking mode is not available in all vehicles, only to those that have such a system (as far as I know). The aim point is always available, even in WW2 tanks (except when disabled manually).
  9. Thanks for the update. Best wishes, stay healthy and keep on going . Looking forward to get the Kiowa whenever it is ready.
  10. EDIT: Forum Post: From the official news:
  11. Okay, thanks a lot
  12. Okay, I am somehow to stupid to find the option to disable easy targetting in MP. Can somebody tell me where to find it or is it automatically disabled if the host has it disabled?
  13. @Callsign112 Thanks again for showing me the turret track mode. Just drove around with a buddy in our shooting range. Now we reliably shoot down Mi-24 Hinds (if flying straight) at 4500 meters distance while cruising 30mph with HEAT... yes the ones that take forever to reach their target. With sabots it's even easier to hit, but they just fly through the target without doing much damage. Time to teach some heli pilots why they shouldn't fly in the open Happy hunting
  14. @Callsign112 The tracking mode needs a more or less constant turrent movement to work correctly. So you use it either with an axis controller like a joystick or use the turret axis mode (which i didn't know that it exists until I watched your video). In your video, the mouse movements in the tracking mode section are not smooth enough. The lead will be calculated from laser distance and turret turn rate at the moment you press the fire button. With "normal" mouse movement, tracking mode is not really useful since you wont get a constant turret turn rate. On the other hand, with a joystick (turret axis mode should also work) it works perfectly. Apart from the random derivations it is really easy to hit distant moving targets. Keep the turret constantly turning so that the target stays under the reticle, lase, fire. If you want a visual demonstration of why you can not use tracking mode efficiently with "normal" mouse movement, simply try it out without zoom and watch the barrel while turning the turret. Without an axis it jumps left and right to apply the "correct" lead. With an axis it stays more or less at the same spot.
  15. +1 ... for me, the radar (or more general sensor) request is currently the most important
  16. Hello, I recently started with lua to implement some nice features into my missions. Now I am wondering if there is any way to get the direction into which a players TGP/Sensor is looking. I guess not, but maybe I overlooked something. There would be so many nice things one can implement using this information... Transmit spotted targets during a recon missions, call in artillery fire/air strikes onto a spotted target, command AI movements... **EDIT** Since somebody is asking for the possibility to get radar targets of players in this thread: I think I have another hint that it isn't possible. I think I will turn this question into a feature request later.

    VPC#3

Even though you probably got this from the link, I received my CP#3 today and the 3 way switches stay in place and are NOT momentary. So the video I referred to in my previous post was wrong. Now I am really happy. Could have lived with momentary switches, but this way it is much nicer. This Panel is definitely the best of the lineup.
  19. And is still existing... If required I can provide a minimal track file

    VPC#3

To answer my own question, here is some info I found out myself from a short introduction video on youtube: The 2-way swithes (×7) stay in position while the 3-way switches (x3) are the same momentary ones as the ones from the CP#2. @imacken So it would only make sense to swap them if you want 2-way switches on the CP#2. However, I don't know if they can be swapped out easily. You sure can, but I don't know how much knowledge and skill you need for that.

    VPC#3

I take from the images that those switches stay in place in contrast to the VPC2 that only has momentary switches. Can somebody confirm that? If true, it seems that I have to make myself a christmas gift... Ah, and if I am already ordering, the black hawk grip looks also very nice ... damn it, I am so weak ...
  22. If they handle it the same way as they did with the Hind, then yes. When early access started the discount was reduced to 20%.
  23. I am a very happy person now...
  24. So pre-order starts tomorrow? Wags said so... true story...
