  1. Hi there! Sorry for the noob question. I bought the Spitfire a few days ago, and a few hours ago I decided to buy the Normandy map. The thing is, in both cases, I already had the files on my computer because when I downloaded 2.7, I said yes to the "download all modules" question (I didn't understand what I was being asked, figured yes was the safe answer. 147 GB later...). So when I downloaded the files, I didn't "own" them, but they were put there on my computer. Anyways, now that I own both, do I need to do a repair to get things properly synced? Will the Normandy based missions that are normally included with the Spitfire be there? Ie will each of them "know" that the other exists? Thanks, and sorry again if this is a dummy question, I'm still pretty new to things here!
  2. Wow right you are, it's been released! Thanks!
  3. Are you able to use the 2.5.6 shader mod with 2.7?
  4. Hi I've just discovered this and read through the thread. There are a lot of links in a lot of posts so I'm not sure where to start. As someone who has not installed anything yet, what link do I need to follow to start from scratch, in order to get the F22 itself as well as the Liveries described in this thread? As a suggestion, would it be possible to maintain the original first post with the most recent links? At the moment I see only a link to the Grinnelli F22, but all the other links are to Dropbox, so I don't think they are the same thing. Or am I wrong about that? Thanks and sorry if I'm being thick.
  5. Well I figured it out. In the mission editor, all I needed to do was select the first waypoint, select advanced, and then delete the EPLRS reference. After this, I am able to fly my Rafale in Liberation with no errors! Now if only I could get the thing to lock on ships!
  6. Hi folks, I have a new question regarding using the Rafale in DCS Liberation. I was really sad to find that when I tried to use it in DCS Liberation games, I got an error that said the Rafale has no EPLRS, and that there was another error regarding the first waypoint. Is there any way around this? I read the DCS manual about what EPLRS is and what it used for, and it doesn't sound like something I would need in the missions I'm flying with the Rafale. I would really like to be able to use the Rafale in Liberation. Thanks!
  7. Ah ok, so it wasn't you that locked on and sunk the ships, it was your AI wingmen? This has been my experience too, things work for the AI, so there must be a way to do it, these things just don't work for me (or more likely, I haven't figured out how to do them yet!). Hi Sushy, thanks for the reply. By any chance would it be easy for you to capture a video of how you locked up the ships with the Exocet or scalp? Again, I followed exactly the steps in the armaments readme file, including the launch override, but it won't lock. Thank you!
  8. Thanks for the replies to my post you guys. So you managed to eventually get the missiles to lock on the ship's radar signatures? Your post from about this time yesterday said you were also unable to lock the ships. Can I ask what you did differently to get it to work? Thanks again!
  9. Hi there, I was hoping you might be able to help, I am having difficulty locking ship targets with the Rafale. I followed exactly the instructions in the armaments text document that comes with the mod. I am able to lock on to ground radar targets and launch the scalp and AGM88 no problem, but with ships, it will not work no matter what I try. The ships are all frigates, with radar. I can put the reticle over the diamond, but when I hit enter or lock surface target, nothing happens. Again, same procedure works perfectly fine for ground targets, but not ships. What's interesting is that the same is true for optical weapons like the AS30 and GBUs. I cannot lock these onto ships either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  10. Salut les freres! I just wanted to say how incredible this plane is and how much fun I've had flying it over the last week or two since I discovered it! It is a pure joy to fly, so often I finish a mission with a giant grin on my face! I have modified most of the "stock" FA-18C missions to use the Rafale instead, it is super fun, especially the river run! Anyways, I am still learning, I just finished reading all 14 pages of this thread, and now that I know that there is a manual, I will be reading that next! Merci tres bien pour tous le travail que vous avez faites avec cette avion. Je veux vous remercier seulement en Francais, mais je suis debutant et tres lentement Thank you again, I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
  11. Wow, this is fantastic, thank you so much! You helped me figure out what I was doing wrong. I set mine up for the main DCS World folder, which I guess works properly for purchased modules, but I will need to create another profile that points to the saved games folder for the VSN and other community aircraft. Once again, thank you so much, I know exactly what to do now!
  12. Hi there! I was just wondering if anyone is using OVGME to manage their mods for the vsn planes. If so, can you describe how you did it? Thanks!
  13. I just wanted to say I am playing these missions on 2.5.6 and they are working fine. Not only fine, but awesome! I'm loving them! The missions are a hoot and the voices are highly entertaining Thank you for making these!
  14. Thank you very much for this. There is certainly more detail there, and I'm kind of embarrassed to say I didn't think to look in the manual! I will try again after work tonight, but IIRC my issue seems to come when attempting to lock. The target mark box does not seem to appear, but maybe I just didn't know what to look for. Like I said, I will try it again and pay closer attention to the symbology mentioned in the manual. For the maverick, I didn't realize the range was so short, so maybe that was the issue there. I will try these again too. I will try to figure out generating a track file this evening and post it here if I still have problems. Also, unless I am mistaken, you are the author of several other tutorials I've been flying, so I would like to say thank you for those! They really helped me a lot too!
  15. So I just finished the tutorials. Either there is something wrong with my installation, or there is something buggy with targeting in the A10. I was not able to lock on to anything in the CCRP tutorial. I followed the steps exactly, moved the reticle over the targets, and hit lock/enter. The tutorial proceeds as if I'd done the right thing, but it doesn't seem to actually lock anything. I flew right over the targets without anything happening. I tried multiple passes, and even just trying to lock on to a random spot on the ground, switching CCRP on and off, etc, but nothing works. I also tried using "lock ground target" again, because that sort of worked for the maverick, but not this time. I don't think this is an issue with these tutorials though. I did some googling, and there appear to be others having the same problem with this plane (targeting with maverick and CCRP) but at the same time there wasn't a ton of mentions of this here in the forums as I expected there would be for such a problem, so maybe there is an issue with my (and a few other people's) installation or something. Anyways, if anyone can tell me one way or the other if they've had issues properly locking targets with the maverick/CCRP reticles while doing these tutorials, it would be much appreciated!
  16. Hi Christian, I was using the "F" button, which for me is the flaps toggle, and I think that's the default setting for the FC3 planes. I tried shift F as well, with the same result. Like I mentioned, the messages that should have come after the flaps milestone ended up popping up as I was landing. Maybe that's helpful to you? I have another question that isn't specifically related to your videos, but does have to do with the A10, and you seem to know what you're doing . In your maverick tutorial, the targets are all nicely clumped together, and the TDC/TGP locks easily as you move the reticle over the tanks. When I tried playing some of the FC3 missions, the maverick would not lock on to the target that I was designating with the TDC/TGP reticle. Instead it would lock on some other random unit off in another direction, and often even friendly forces! I tried using the "lock ground target" simplification command instead of hitting Enter (lock designated target), and that was marginally better, but seemed to be locking on whatever was in the center of the HUD vs the target I was designating with the reticle. Eventually I could cycle through targets by using the "next ground target" simplification, but sometimes it would take multiple passes over the AOR. So I guess my question is, do you have any tips for using the maverick in a "distributed target" situation, where there are also friendlies? And getting it to lock on to the target you are actually designating with the reticle? I haven't done the last three or four tutorials yet (but that's what I'm doing as soon as I'm done my coffee!), so maybe you already cover this. I will find out shortly!
  17. I created an account just to come here and tell you how grateful I am to you for these training missions! I've been putting off using the A10 because it just seemed like there was no way I would be able to figure out all the different ordinance, especially the mavericks, those things operate on black magic in this game, I swear! Anyways, I know others have been giving you suggestions for voice overs and all that but in my opinion, the tutorials were exactly perfect just the way they were! I'm sure you Jane a lovely voice and all, but I loved the little "MOHAA" drum beats (at least that's what they sounded like to me) every time you hit a milestone, that was a great touch. And the little fun touches, like the music and the "enjoy a smoke", etc. Just great! I found these tutorials yesterday and woke up today all excited to do them. By this afternoon I'd done all but the last three, and had a big grin on my face. I feel like these have unlocked a whole new game for me, because I have a ton of A10 content downloaded, and now I can finally fly it! That's what I've been doing the rest of the day! As a note, I did find one maybe bug. In the take off tutorial, when I lowered my flaps as instructed, it did not move to the next instruction. I restarted the mission to see if I'd missed something, but after watching the flaps cycle 10-20 times, I decided to just gun it. The simulation picked up at "hog rolling" or something like that, so I was able to continue the tutorial. Funny thing... When I came in to land, it then played the milestone on what to do after putting down the flaps! I'm guessing the milestone is linked to a certain position on the runway that I didn't get to on take off taxi. Anyways, like I said, thanks so much. If this is your first kick at this stuff, then kudos man, it was awesome and I hope you do more like this. Is this isn't your first rodeo, please point me to more of your work! Thanks!
