VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
FupDuck replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
This matches my experience. Glad to have this figured out, I was worried I'd pooched something! I've noticed you can still go ahead and play the mission (just keep clicking ignore to the errors), but there won't be any trees. Normandy looks it was attacked by hordes of beavers! Here's hoping a fix is relatively easy, this is such a great mod! -
fixed [REPORTED] AI Wingman Takeoff from Tarawa
FupDuck replied to BigMotor's topic in Problems and Bugs
Hey @jack333, Have you noticed if this happens if you take off first? Or are you waiting for the wingmen to take off first? For me, if I take off first, the wingmen are following me now, whereas before the update, they stayed on the deck with the chocks as you described. I honestly don't think I've tried it since the update with them taking off first. Also not sure I would know how to command my wingmen to go first, the game always puts me as lead. I'm just about to go play so I will try to remember to check again and see if I can get my wingmen to try going first. -

On my god, I've always loved the look of the Victor! I can't wait for this, it's going to be awesome!! Edit: I see its already there, wow! Is there a plan to make the Victor flyable as well? Thanks a lot for your work on these! -
fixed [REPORTED] AI Wingman Takeoff from Tarawa

Excellent news! The latest version is just installing now, I came here just to see if there was any update on this. Thanks for the report, can't wait to continue my campaigns! -
Sky Warrior - AV8B - Mission 5 Liberate Kobuleti
FupDuck replied to MrYeti's topic in User Created Missions General
This is due to a known bug which will be fixed in the next release. See: -
I was having this issue as well, but when I looked closer it was because the TPOD screen had switched out of "TPOD mode", if you can call it that. Double tapping the SSS down button gets it working properly for me again, as described above (you will see TPOD XXXX on the screen, where XXXX is the laser code). I don't think this is a bug, it's just the way she goes with the TPOD!

fixed [REPORTED] AI Wingman Takeoff from Tarawa
FupDuck replied to BigMotor's topic in Problems and Bugs
Oooh sounds interesting! Will this campaign be available publicly? -
A clean up is something I've needed to do for a while. I've been avoiding it because (a) It's a pain in the butt to rebuild all the shaders (b) I keep thinking "there will be a game update tomorrow" but it's been like a month now! Anyways, surely there will be a game update tomorrow, so I will do it then!

Hi @lefuneste01, Thanks for taking a look. For me, I have been always doing it with the kegetys mod installed as well. Maybe I'll try again without doing that first, but I'm pretty sure the last time I had the menu working, kegetys was there as well since you have to put that on before your mod. Again, its weird because the "effects" of your mod are there, I just can't bring up the menu. And yes, I am doing it in the cockpit. I will try again without kegetys and see how it goes. Just curious though, are your "previous versions" available online somewhere? Thanks again!

investigating Unable to move camera position up in Spitfire only
FupDuck replied to Alphazulu's topic in Bugs and Problems
I just tried this. Not sure it's anything to do with the canopy per se. For me, the camera-up command just does nothing. Even if I move the camera all the way down to the control sick, it's not possible to move it up again. If I press the camera up key bind while I'm in the options/controls menu, it instantly jumps to the correct line in the controls (so it is properly bound), but while in the game/cockpit, it does nothing. In all my other planes it works as expected. Definitely seems like it might be a bug with the Spitfire, but maybe different than what OP is describing. -
Pardon the resurrection, but I also find it just as loud with the canopy open vs closed. I thought it was a bug too until I realized it's the same thing on my motorbike. When I ride without my windshield (ie canopy open), all I hear is the wind noise. When I ride with my windshield (canopy closed), all I hear is the noisy Italian engine. They are both equally loud, just in different ways, if that makes sense. Either way, I always wear earplugs when riding, maybe that's the secret to the Spitfire too!

I think you may be experiencing a different bug. See here:

I would love to see this too. I recently downloaded the "Pirate story" free mission pack from the user files, and was surprised to see one of these rocket pods included in the default mission payload. Got all excited and then found they couldn't be launched when in the mission . A agree that payloads should be based on what COULD be carried, versus what was actually strapped to the airplane at one moment in history. I'm fairly new to the Harrier (and DCS), but from what I've read, there have been a few back and forth's with respect to weapons on this module. I think that could be avoided by going the "capability route" instead of the "someone proved it was carried once" one.

Bumping this because I just found it and I am drooling at the thought of lifting off from inside a mountain in that sweet chopper with Ernest Borgnine and Caitlin in the back...

This is happening to me too now. I have the mod installed as before, and its "effects" are still there (ie haze and reflections are turned right down, NVG are slightly bigger than default), but when I hit LShift F7, nothing happens. I uninstalled the mod, and the effects went back to default (haze and reflections came back, NVG to default), then I reinstalled the mod, and all my 3dmigoto settings came back, but I still can't access the menu through LShift F7. I checked the bin directory, the d3d11_log.txt file is there: Thanks!

I dream of a world where all of these things will just work together, regardless of platform/manufacturer! If only I were smarter I would take a crack at this, but I work in government, so everything is still in BASIC!

Has anyone tried this on the Quest 2 without using Steam? That is, DCS standalone and the oculus runtime? What happens if you drop these files in and run it that way? Thanks!
-
Thanks, I should have mentioned I had the date set to December 5. I will try November as well but I think it should be the same. Ok I will try it without Barthek to see if that is what's causing it. Thanks!
-
Hey I finally got around to trying this out, and unfortunately it seems only the trees are coming out right. I copied all the zip files in the google drive link to Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Normandy\vfstextures, overwriting the existing files (using OVGME, so should be easy to go back). Any idea what might be wrong? FWIW I also have the Barthek Normandy textures mod installed, this overwrote some of those files too (ie I installed this after Barthek). Thanks!
-
Oh yay! I'm gonna install this tonight! Thanks so much for uploading this @PLUTON!
-
Thank you thank you! This and the other comments totally solved my issue. Now I press autostart and touch nothing until everything is done, and it's working. I will try the sea alignment later too!
-
Ok thanks you guys! I will try it again without doing anything to move the aircraft, and if it does like I described, I'll save and upload the track file. Question though: does it matter that I'm on a moving aircraft carrier when starting up?

The thing is, it doesn't finish. It stays like that for the whole mission. The timer below eventually just stops and it stays like this.
