EXPERIMENTAL: Resizable BAR in DCS for NVIDIA RTX 30 Series GPUs
FupDuck replied to ShaunX's topic in Virtual Reality
Hey! Just curious if anyone has tried this recently. I just got a 3070 and turned on rebar, but I was wondering if it works for DCS again with the latest drivers. Thanks! -
Thanks for the reply, however I'm not sure it addresses my comment. There seems to be a bug with the deck on the Hermes. There's a bump on the deck before the ski jump, which launches my plane into the air before the actual ski jump (see my photo). Is that bump supposed to be there? If so, why? Thanks!
-
Hi there, I'm using the Hermes 1981 version, and I've noticed a bit of a "bump before the jump" on the deck: When I hit this during take-off it causes the front wheel to jump and actually flips the Harrier into the air, but not enough to clear the ski jump, and I pretty much always smash my landing gear into it as I barely clear it. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks! PS Amazing mod, thanks for this!

Hey, after reading your first post for the third or fourth time over the last few months as I keep upgrading, I just want to double check: are you running the steam version? Or standalone and playing with the steam API? Thanks!

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
FupDuck replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
No problems here on the latest beta either, and yes this does increase framerate. That's why we're all here! -
Dol's Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero Flyable!
FupDuck replied to Hawkeye60's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
So just to be clear, do you need to own the P51 to fly this? Thanks! -
I've noticed this as well. Tilt your head about 45° to either side, and all the shimmering and jaggies disappear. I wonder if this fact could point towards a solution.

Wheel chocks appear and canopy opens anytime Harrier is stopped
FupDuck replied to FupDuck's topic in Problems and Bugs
The latest beta has the fix that allows the wingmen to take off. The chocks and canopy are additional. -
VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
FupDuck replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Same. Open it in pancake, go do something, open a Spitfire mission in Normandy, go do something, open a Harrier mission in Persian Gulf, go do something, KA50 mission in Caucasus, etc, etc. Then when that's all done (about half an hour later), put on the VR headset and play. ...Yet? I have faith in you, Heat! -
[Reported] AV-8B spawn position/direction on Tarawa wrong
FupDuck replied to shagrat's topic in Problems and Bugs
Huh I had no idea it was supposed to be that way, but that totally makes sense! For heavy payloads, I've just been shifting into reverse (nozzle 98°, throttle 50%) and backing up to the back of the boat before take off! Your solution seems more realistic though -
So the "wingmen not taking-off from ships" bug appears to be fixed, but I've noticed it still shows wheel chocks appearing everytime the Harrier wingmen come to a stop. It happens on the Tarawa and it happens on terra firma as well, like on a busy taxi way stopped waiting behind other planes. I've noticed at the same time that the canopy opens as well, and stays open during taxiing. Let me know if you want me to create a separate bug for that, but somehow this seems related - like the "standing still Harrier" animation is carrying over into the "moving Harrier" animation, if you know what I'm saying. I'm on latest beta from last Friday, issue appears with or without mods enabled.

fixed [REPORTED] AI Wingman Takeoff from Tarawa
FupDuck replied to BigMotor's topic in Problems and Bugs
Ok I set myself as #3 in a three ship flight lifting off from the Tarawa. First try was with wingmen below maximum VTOL weight. They all taxiied to the take off spot and lifted off vertically. After this, I loaded everyone up with a full bomb load and tried again. In this case, each wingman taxiied to the take off spot and then (oh no!) The wheel chocks appeared and they gunned their engines with nozzles at what looked like about 30-40 degrees. I thought, oh crap, the big is still there! But after about ten seconds, the wheel chocks disappeared an the jet took off! Second wingman, exact same thing. So the wingmen not taking off from ships bug appears to be fixed, but those wheel chocks are definitely still a bug. They appear on terra firma as well, anytime a Harrier stops, like on a busy taxi way, the wheel chocks appear. This is not intended behaviour. Perhaps I'll start a new thread for this since it appears to be separate from the take-off one. -
investigating Unable to move camera position up in Spitfire only
FupDuck replied to Alphazulu's topic in Bugs and Problems
I tried it with canopy open as you suggested, and you're right! With the canopy open, I can move the camera up, but with it closed, it will only go down, regardless of position. So maybe a bug after all! -
VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
FupDuck replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Having just spent the last couple of hours trouble shooting various shader mods and then rebuilding every time to see if it worked, I would love to see something that builds your shaders in the background! Something you could just click and walk away while it somehow opens all your modules and all your maps in the background. Fantastic idea! -

Ahh, sorry, too many mods, not enough brain cells! -
VR Shaders mod for better VR experience

This matches my experience. Glad to have this figured out, I was worried I'd pooched something! I've noticed you can still go ahead and play the mission (just keep clicking ignore to the errors), but there won't be any trees. Normandy looks it was attacked by hordes of beavers! Here's hoping a fix is relatively easy, this is such a great mod! -
fixed [REPORTED] AI Wingman Takeoff from Tarawa
FupDuck replied to BigMotor's topic in Problems and Bugs
Hey @jack333, Have you noticed if this happens if you take off first? Or are you waiting for the wingmen to take off first? For me, if I take off first, the wingmen are following me now, whereas before the update, they stayed on the deck with the chocks as you described. I honestly don't think I've tried it since the update with them taking off first. Also not sure I would know how to command my wingmen to go first, the game always puts me as lead. I'm just about to go play so I will try to remember to check again and see if I can get my wingmen to try going first. -

fixed [REPORTED] AI Wingman Takeoff from Tarawa

Excellent news! The latest version is just installing now, I came here just to see if there was any update on this. Thanks for the report, can't wait to continue my campaigns! -
Sky Warrior - AV8B - Mission 5 Liberate Kobuleti
FupDuck replied to MrYeti's topic in User Created Missions General
This is due to a known bug which will be fixed in the next release. See: -
I was having this issue as well, but when I looked closer it was because the TPOD screen had switched out of "TPOD mode", if you can call it that. Double tapping the SSS down button gets it working properly for me again, as described above (you will see TPOD XXXX on the screen, where XXXX is the laser code). I don't think this is a bug, it's just the way she goes with the TPOD!

fixed [REPORTED] AI Wingman Takeoff from Tarawa
FupDuck replied to BigMotor's topic in Problems and Bugs
Oooh sounds interesting! Will this campaign be available publicly? -
A clean up is something I've needed to do for a while. I've been avoiding it because (a) It's a pain in the butt to rebuild all the shaders (b) I keep thinking "there will be a game update tomorrow" but it's been like a month now! Anyways, surely there will be a game update tomorrow, so I will do it then!
