Double Dutch

I have Virpil software, installed my throttle, mapped it in DCS (FA18) on Joy-Z axis. Did my joystick, next my ace rudder pedals... also the Joy-z axis and I can see that it is already bound. So I also have 2 devices that want to be mapped to the same axis by DCS.

hi, I am looking for a template for the DCS FA18 with the assignment of the buttons, I am new to Virpil hardware and DCS and I would like to hit the ground running configuration wise (since i have ton to learn flying). Is there anyone that has a good working button layout for the MongoosT CM3 throttle and the CM2 base/grip for me? Ps. I am using TrackIR and Ace rudder pedals Thanks!!

Does anyone have a button template for the CM with how you configured it for the FA-18?

I just bought the full Virpil suite, base, stick, throttle, rudder pedals, desk mounts, arrived yesterday. Took me 4 hours to assemble and calibrate the stuff. Material is triple A class. Only thing to be aware of is that they combine Aluminum with steel screws so you have to be extremely careful not to create wrong threads. The grip is an industrial plastic. I know there is compatibility the other way around, VPC base and TM sticks, what you are asking I do not know. Tonight I will start to configure some special stuff, throttle detents and leds and such and then will configure it for DCS. Sorry I could not be more help.

Hi, please don't shoot me for my question but I have 2.5 installed, receiving my hotas tomorrow and am wondering if I should not install 2.7 open beta instead of 2.5 because performance and look and feel are much better and the fact a local clan flies 2.7 My Question: - can I just install over 2.5? - are there any settings I need to save? - will settings for hotas, trackIR and such stay intact? - anything else I need to be aware of? thanks! ps. I can't do a second install on my SSD drive cause the space is not sufficient to have 2 instances there.

I just installed it, it's not a Mod. It works exactly like skins, create a folder in your users directory where you also make the plane's folders. Looks awesome, much cleaner view!!

What is a really easy way to select a new plane skin if I just installed it?

And now I can select it under the main menu special section, F/A-18C, besides static, I now have this clean cockpit!

That is cool to ad your own name/callsign to the plane. I also found a download to get a cleaner cockpit, do you know where to place those?

I think the towel is a great add-on, is it a Virpil towel? Whats next Virpil Aviation sunglasses. This is exactly going to be mysetup, including the virpil desk clamps, I even have the large (curved) stick extension

Does anyone know if there are any updates for this layouts for the CM3?

thank you! Very interesting! Forgive me for the silly questions, but I see 2.7 should be available Q1 2021. I see there is a 2.7 open beta but the version is a 'test' version? Are they so stable that everyone plays on that version?

Hi Hoirtel, Thank you for your time. I am 56 years old, I have a tiny bit of photoshop experience but I removed the program long ago (never really used it). If there is a manual online on how to do it, that would help. You say finding a skin that has 2 tone grey is easy, I would not know where to start yet. I have just purchased DCS and am still waiting for my Hotas to arrive (in 1-2 weeks time). Just preparing to make this as cool as possible

The Dutch Don't have a FA-18C, the most logical thing would be to copy the Dutch F-16 skin, see the link for some pictures (https://www.defensie.nl/onderwerpen/materieel/vliegtuigen-en-helikopters/f-16). I find that this layout the little red-white-blue (dutch flag) circle, which I find looks cool. How much time does it take to make one? Would an enthusiastic student be willing to make 1 for me for a reasonable fee?

I had the same question, not for the cloud stuff, but I noticed in the tickets that a lot of people talk about version 2.7. I was curious (since a lot of people seem early adopters to technology) if not most people are on 2.7

I am curious too... the one thing I did not buy from Virpil.
