  1. Look at that Screenshot by Cromhunt There you find left & right mousebutton plus Mousewheel. Just assign those keys to either your warthog throttle or Joystick (use the right columns). Hope it helps.
  2. What CPU are you actually running? Which generation? Depending on the chip there could be potential for OC (as it would be if it's a I5 6600k). Not saying you will be able to run the rift with the GTX 960, but CPU OC and a GPU Swap could bring you closer to the rift.
  3. When I switched back to 2d screen in the M2000c, I often found myself still needing to use the zoom in on the cockpit to click specific buttons or identify other aircrafts... I dont experience performance issue at the moment. But if a mission is that smashed full of AI that it only runs "OK" on normal systems... Then I think the mission wants to do a bit too much ;-). My current main problem with VR: - This slow, FPS Depending Zoom momentary button, would it be so difficult to be able to assign zoom to an axis like in 2d mode? :) - The very anoying TrackIR Device disconnect, connect notification which will momentarily screw my RIFT Screen. (TrackIR plugged out and software disabled... any clues? - This system locked Num5 recenter. Really anoying when you try to use the NumPad to enter flightplans... -_- - Huge labels (if for some reason I get labels at all ;-) )
  4. Last two days I thought I give the 2d monitor a try after a month with the rift... While using the monitor isnt that bad... TIR is really bad compared to RIFT Tracking... A bit right and left is not a problem, but if you want to look arround you in a dogfight (while its hard work in the rift), its really wierd after you had the VR experience. Sure, you can tweak your curves etc, but when you are used to 1:1 tracking of the rift its just wierd. Loved my TIR for 6 years... But now I cannot stand it anymore. :( One of the reasons why I got it from a store near me. They will replace the unit while under warranty. (had to do it once already...) Best of luck for a fast RMA process.
  5. Hi, With your current available hardware it's hard to suggest anything that feels for you like a upgrade. Anything today on the market (24" - 27" 1080 resolution) will work. You don't need no fancy 144Hz panels or anything with special grey to grey specification (which is 95% marketing). You only really need to resist the urge to buy a cheap 40" TV and think it will be awesome. Input lag will make your flight miserable. If you grab yourself a 1070 you could consider one of those 600$ ultrawide monitors (resolution 3440x1440) in 34" and you would have an awesome setup. -> Ultrawide are mostly IPS Panels, so watch for IPS Glow. There is now a 40" 4k curved monitor from phillips for 600$ (Philips BDM4037UW). But again, 4k will need a stronger GPU and I'm not certain how much more CPU power the 4k resolution will drain. A Rift CV1 as Mr_Sukebe, while is awesome for DCS, will need a major hardware upgrade and the rift itself is 600$.
  6. Had a similiar issue on my previous rift. In my case it was loose connector on the rift. Needed to replace the unit. Check the cable that goes into the rift. Mine did work when there is tension on the cable, but it disconnected when pushing the cable into the unit... Maybe you are lucky and this cable is just pulled out. Remove the cover and reseat the hdmi/usb cable.
  7. Yeah, keep your 1080 and upgrade your CPU. The 1080 is definitly not the bottleneck of your system. You can stick to the 6600k / 7600k, since hyperthreading isnt that beneficial for games.
  8. I never really bothered with checking the FPS yet, but my 1080 TI runs as fluid as my old 980 TI... Just cranked up the settings of course (Shadows are finally a lot more crisp :) ). Should probably tweak it a bit more. But definitly no issues with 18-45 FPS. And thats on the Open Beta 1.5. Didnt test 2.0 yet. Will report back after the weekend.
  9. Thats looking really nice. Probably a lot nicer to hold than my 3d printed UH1 Collective... And that featherweight plastic thing was 300 bucks more expensive... -_- Enjoy it :)
  10. Please let me know if I completly missjudge the functioning of those, but as far as I can see thoseCaptogloves aren't really VR Gloves... They are just a game controller with a couple gyros inside, which can detect certain movements and emulate them as mouseclicks or as an analog axis. You will still have to look directly at the switch (centered of course, just keep your finger on the screen while he looks arround...) and then do some preprogrammed handsign to have right click, left click or mouse wheel. IMHO this gives as much immersion as a mouse glued to your throttle and cost 160$ - 250$.
  11. Offtopic, but did you put griptape on your throttle? That idea with the mouse is great. Need to try that with a cheap cable mouse. I'm pretty comfortable with using my right hand and the mouse to select the stuff. I just hold the Joystick/Cyclic with the left hand while operating the mouse.
  12. Can you post a screenshot of your graphic settings? With a 6600K @ 4.5GHz and the 980 TI I used to run just fine. With a lot higher graphics settings. Both Open Beta 1.5 and Open Alpha 2.0. What version are you running? I basicly took the advices from this topic: Post by DigitalEngine Only real change I made was enabling shadows int he cockpit... It looks so much better ;-) Your CPU should be fine. Apparantly 4.2-4.3 GHz is the sweet spot for most games including DCS. Much higher you won't get many benefits. Use something like Afterburner to check your load, clock speeds and temperature. Maybe your CPU get's to hot and throttles itself down? Maybe your GPU doesnt really run with the highest clock. Or you have a lot of background tasks which clutter your first cpu thread, running not the most up to date open Alpha/Beta's or your game settings are screwed with your play arround in the lua's.
  13. Glad to help. :)
  14. Just make sure you are launching DCS 2.0 Open Alpha directly and not via Steam. SteamVR shouldnt even care about DCS. Make sure you disable any steam Services in the DCS 2.0 (Steam Overlay etc). There are some start parameters you can force VR mode. dcs.exe --force_enable_VR dcs.exe --force_disable_VR
  15. Looks like a hyped product which will disapoint so many. As long as there won't be support to track with rift / vive hardware, it will just be a way to mouseclick (which could be assigned to a HOTAS as well). And a 250$ glove just to mouseclick is a bit overkill. Sure, it will be able to move a mousepointer... but whats the point? It will never be there where you would naturally reach for. And until ED introduces the use of those floating hands with Rift Touch, HTC Vive Controllers I doubt we will have a usable system. When they push out those function, we can start hoping for VR tracked gloves.
  16. How does the tracking works? It doesnt use sensors from Rift or the Lighthouse from Vive... Does it just use motion tracking and some gyro sensor to determine their movements? I rather wait for a glove for my rift or the better implementation of the Touch controllers.
  17. But at the same time it's a bit scary... Yesterday in a 2 ship landing formation in M2000c's and I couldnt stop staring at my wingman... until I almost clipped his wing. But the landing was still beautifull. :D
  18. I would definitly try to repair all 3 packages. Grab DCS Updater GUI by SkateZilla, add all your builds to it and run the repair. Helped me first when some modules weren't properly updated (The keybinding Section for the F-5E were totaly differently named than on my friends install -_-) If that doesnt do the trick, I would go for the reinstall tbh. When I startet using DCS again after some time, my default keyboardbindings were suddenly missing... Repair didnt help... Just the good old delete and reinstall :(. But since then I'm happy.
  19. Is there a Lua File to increase the VR Zoom just a tiny bit? :) Thanks guys.
  20. Well, I had issues yesterday in the M-2000c. But I'm still adjusting my settings. (PD was at 1.5). Biggest issue were the radio frequency knobs (Not an Instrument, I agree). Freaking small letters. At least there is a big readable LCD to confirm it :) If I'm running the Rift, I don't have to adjust the resolution, right? Cause that still states 3440x1440 in the settings... But the 2nd view on the monitor is looking about rift size.
  21. Just an update. Received my replacement device yesterday and was already flying and played Robo Recall. Awesome. Just have to get used to those unreadable instruments. ^^
  22. Well, me as well just purchased a RIFT. For arround 799CHF (800$) bundled with the Touch Controller. I think it's not a bad price at all. It's arround 50 CHF more expensive than ordering from Oculus directly, but at least my retailer just swaped out my device after a defect... And I got of course the 50$ Store Credits (plus the new Robo Recall for free (awesome game btw). Couldnt be happier.
  23. That was the confusing part. The setup told me to put on the rift. I put on the rift -> The Rift disabled itself. When I took off the rift... the "Hardware issue detected" popup went away... Took a couple of "Put Headset on, beeing confused and take it off again"- Runs until I noticed the hardware issue detected popup. Anyway, the retailer I purchased it from will change it out for another brand new Rift this evening. Just have to drive 2h in rushhour into the biggest city of switzerland... but better than not having the Rift ;-). Best regards
  24. At least they aren't charging more for their "Fouders"-Line. I hope for a 899 CHF price tag in Switzerland, when the first EVGA/ASUS etc is released. But compared to the Titan X(P), still a bargain :P
  25. Definitly a great card and will get one as soon as it launches in Switzerland (EVGA and Waterblock). My 980 TI won't give me that much back. At least the TI is pretty cheap. Will we see much benefit with VR? I don't think so. Isn't this game mostly bottlenecked by CPU rather than the GPU? But we will definitly find out soon enough. :)
