  1. The HMCS can be disabled in the ME but only for you. Even your wingman will still be flying with the HMCS. Let alone pure AI flights.
  2. My favourite aviation historian of late is Thomas McKelvey Cleaver, he has an a like 6 or 7 book series on the Pacific war. From Pearl Harbour to the end. With books covering the beginning, middle and end. He has his own book for the South Pacific from Guadalcanal to the pacification of Rabaul. The last book in the series cover the home islands and the last campaign on Japan proper. And does cover and give credit to the FAA and Royal navy. He uses sources from all combatants, his books on Korea kills a few scared cows, he's not one to let his nationality dictate. And he used American, North Korean, Chinese and soviet sources. And his Korea book dealing with the Navy again gives due credit to the royal navy and FAA.
  3. The problem isn't the convergence but DCS lacklustre damage modeling. Much of the systems that could be shot apart aren't there. First hand accounts are quite clear, just a few hits to a German wing from .50 cals would usually make the wing fall off. A second long burst would eat its way into the aircraft until the bullets hit the fuel tanks and blew the aircraft apart. Stuff like that can't be done in DCS. In this case it's not so much the convergence being correct. But that the late war combat mix for the Corsair has more correct damage potential than the .50 cals in the P51 and P47. My bullets sliced through the aircraft and hit the fuel tanks. The ED .50 cals seem to be lacking in penetraton. And just because .50 cals should be able to disable Japanese tanks, doesn't mean that would be simulated in DCS. Many things aren't simulated in DCS. Shermans would be overkill. The humble 37mm on the M3/5 Stewart, Lee or Greyhound would be more then enough in most cases. HE mortar rounds did the trick too. And I wouldn't be surprised if some Gurkha used a Kukri once to slice open a Japanese light tank.
  4. Both the Japanese tanks are vulnerable to the .50s from the Corsair. At least with the latest combat mix. This seems realistic. Given the very light armor these tanks generally had.
  5. The Corsair .50 cals, specifically with the latest war combat mix is extremely effective. Here I kill a 109 with just a few hits. https://youtube.com/shorts/-unwbKjD_s8?si=wGKJoZQkXE5chMho They can even kill the Japanese tanks
  6. I did try and remove the curves. Still no stick movement when trimming with my Brunner FFB base
  7. At 22000 feet. High blower, all hatches and toilet seats closed. 2700rpm, 59MP. "Water activated" if that even does anything. I get 370mph once corrected to true airspeed and converted to MPH. 22000 should be the altitude the Corsair reaches 410mph. So I'm missing 40mph.
  8. I set both German and British AI to veteran. It did help somewhat. We still shot down 8, 2 crashed and 2 ran away, to zero losses. But at least I shot down a 109.
  9. Not a lot of time for flying or editing the last week. But did sneak in a short one. Half the battle is to shoot down a 109 before the kryptonian Corsair AI cleans the sky of enemies.
  10. Imagine if the AI Japanese is the same. In any fight, you'll just have to dive away and hide while watching the DCS equivalent of Kryptonians fighting out like in Superman 2.
  11. In a 12 v 12 fight with corsair and 109s all set to ace. I've run through this mission 8 times now. 1 time i was shot down by 109. In 4 fights i got hit but only lightly. In the 7 times i surived. The AI corsairs just murdered the 109s. I'm fighting as hard as I can slowly working my way closer and closer to a 109. Then then some AI dick just comes in from nowhere and kills my guy. This happened 7 times. In all 7 times I didn't get shot down. The Ai corsairs took down all 12 109s in less than 4 minutes.
  12. I'm not the only one.
  13. It only says drag related to weapons and tanks. Nothing about a clean aircraft. It says nothing about general flight model bugs. It says nothing about engine except fixing the ability to go past 2800rpm. So based on what they say. If fly a clean F4U now. And keep to the allowed engine parameters. That will be the correct power and speed you get. There's also no mention about the very weak tourqe effects seen in the Corsair. Which is much less than in the other warbirds.
  14. It says the ability to go over 2800rpm is a bug? Which obviously it is. But no mention of lack of power/speed/water injection as a bug. So we must assume that the Corsair is the way it is. And is apparently one of the slowest warbirds in the game.
  15. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the aircraft flying more or less sideways and no trim or rudder input can change that.
  16. The K4 has a higher top speed true. So at 30k feet the K4 is much faster. Same is not true at 14k, 8k or sea level.
  17. So far I've only tested the first beta version with support for the Corsair
  18. Indeed, it works great in the Higgins boats, cars, trucks and men are "slightly floating" when I put them on the larger WW2 liberty ships.
  19. Yes, but as I said, it seems telemetry is missing, the bird shakes like hell just flying it with no real ability to minimize the shake(unlike in the other warbirds) and there is no or very little feeling when dropping bombs, firing guns or anything really, the thing shakes so much, during normal flight, I can't feel if it even reacts to gears and flaps.
  20. I have static infantry, it's under ground vehicles. Placed static infantry Higgins boats.
  21. I have a simshaker pad that gives me feedback for much of what i need, though it seems the Corsair lacks telemetry for all kinda things. It shakes a lot just flying. But there's no feedback for gun use or weapons drop. So I assume this is also why force feedback is not quite right. The module simply doesn't have a lot of telemetry data "sendt out " little or no telemetry for ffb or simshaker pad.
