  1. Thanks. It was kinda fun firing like 300 rounds at the thing while chasing it around a small German hamlet. And yes quite a few rounds hit the chassis. But I saw dozens hit the rocket "pod" I look forward to a new and improved duel later on.
  2. I don't know it's properties except it's mounted on T90 chassis. But I just fired some 200+ 30 mike mike from the M230. And all i got was a bit of smoke. Even if the chassis could take that. I doubt the rocket launcher part could.
  3. It's not the age of the aircraft, but access to public data, and ideally the aircraft itself. We don't have a single British jet, even old stuff, as the British government simply doesn't grant access to that stuff. Both the Typhoon and Tornado we are getting are German aircraft. And given that the Russian aircraft themselves only used the R27 until around 2015(with the R77 only existing as less capable export version up to that point) It's actually quite realistic to have Russian MiGs and SUs flying around with R27s up until at least 2010.

I did a mission loosely based on this, like in the real mission it was a very one sided thing. I must also say the new George commands are fantastic, no more micro managing everything, it feels easier and more realistic that he can look for trouble himself. And once you’ve made sure there’s only baddies to your front, you make a list of stuff to die, and let George off the leash and you can sit back and concentrate on flying, while George kills every Mofo in the room by himself.

  6. Strange. I had my track go in super slow motion. And what came out of the RPG was the same artillery shell as always. And this was like a week ago. I'll have to try again. Explosion is still to large, an RPG though. But the graphical effects doesn't necessarily correlate to the damage simulation. But it looks odd that both RPG and 80mm mortar has more or less the same explosion size of a mk82.

  8. Just a few days ago I saw the insurgent rpg fire the artillery shell.
  9. The RPG fire artillery rounds. Not actual rocket propelled granade. Not sure about damge and damaged radius. But the graphical explosion is too big. It seems to be the exact same explosion effect as the 80mm mortar(which also seem a bit too big) The ammo type i miss the most besides incendiarys, is the flachetes used by all helicopters that use the Hydra. Common in Vietnam and common in Afghanistan. I know it's on the todo list for the Apache. And probably is waiting for some fragmentation simulation modeling that is missing from bombs and rockets. As they are basically single direction frags(at least how I assume they'll be modeled in DCS) But flachetes was also commonly used on fast jets with rocket pods. F4s used them a lot in Vietnam. Giving they were safe to use close to friendlies as long as they were fired in a safe direction.

  11. Firebase Wilderness (Forward Operating Base Tellier) Comes under a large Taliban attack. And two Apaches are sent to help out. This is my most edit heavy video so far, 7 hours (1 hour in vr and 7 track file recordings) Edited down to 50 minutes, with 2 large somewhat complex montages. Too bad I’m such an amateur in the Apache.. I’ve found that thanks to the latest optimisations in DCS, I can turn off Eye tracking and foveated rendering in smaller missions in DCS without turning down graphics settings or getting any noticeable loss in performance. Which is nice, as even though I don’t notice it when playing, the lower resolution outside the foveated window is noticeable when watching on video

  14. I think if weapons malfunction are to be added. Do it to AI weapons first. Hung bomb, air to air missiles engine failing to start. SAM missiles going off, or even exploding right after launch (particularly older SAMs like SA-2 to SA-6) this will add some variation to the missions. Without directly causing annoyance to the players.
  15. in the track my wingman Apache attacks all kinda odd stuff, firing rockets, or firing hundreds of 30mm at enemies doing to damage.   18. Interesting. I thought they were just gonna release basic US and basic "insurgent" models. But that is very cool that they plan on releasing several factions at once.
  19. Indeed, while the Solomons would be awesome. Since ED has gone hard for 1944. The Philippines would be a better match, but also a lot more work. A LOT more land to model.
  20. This was supposed to be my 800th subscriber special. I had it made some time ago. Waiting for the sniper pod. It came and also came with a bug. Causing GBUs not hitting moving targets. So I had to make a new video for that. Now that the sniper pod can guide moving targets. I can finally do this mission. Truck broken down, Taliban out in force to take advantage. Some bombing. Finding a moving column. Some gun guns guns. I had not paid attention, and was not aware that AI can't use sniper pod. So my useless wingman didn't do much. Except a single gun run at the very end.

  23. Not sure if this is AI or Afghanistan bug. But after hitting the front of a column. Several vehicles run for it. 3 drive off the road to an open place. But 3 drove straight into a canal. Out the other side. Then inside several buildings. Naturally I can't see them inside inside those buildings and so i assumed they were dead. Also not directly a bug. But more damage modeling inconsistency. The new upgraded bombs are cool and can now kill infantry from a very long range, even mk82. However this damage does not translate well into some soft skin vehicles. There's no logic that a mk82 can kill infantry from 400 meters. But a guy standing on the back of a technical 75 meters from bomb impact is fine. Until shrapnel is modeled correctly, mabye have so unarmoured vehicles within deadly blast radius for infantry would be disabled. So cars, jeeps, pickups. Unarmoured moble AAA, won't blow it. But they'll be disabled. Track is in this post

Simple mission 2 flight F16 baddy taliban in afganistan, ordering the AI to attack it first refuses many times, finally it attacks and goes in guns gun, even though it has 4 GBU12s Even though this is a small simple mission with less than 100 units, the sniper pod tracking breaks, and on the track the pod is a very diffrent place than it was during the mission, I have no had this happen to Lantirn or lieting pod.
