  1. Indeed. I use steam for two reasons. 1. The stable fast download speed 2. I like to see just how much of my live I've devoted to DCS(around 1800 hours so far)
  2. Does this mean what i think it means? I thought "not correct for our F16" Was the answer to the lack toggle for this? I assume it's "missile cage button"?
  3. Let's all chip in and give him 2 months vacation at the sunny exotic Atlantic City. We might get the C130, Hellcat, PTO asset pack and Typhoon while he's away.
  4. Didn't go last year, managed this year. Some 20 000 in attendance. Sadly my camera phone and the sun made it very hard to get good video. But some stuff is ok. You got Havard, Spitfire, sterman, Super Hercules doing short runway stop. Various acrobatics. Danish F16 in its last outing before retirement. 2 F35s.

  5. A agree to this. I'm also curious why other jets don't have the same command for wingmen as the A10. In the A10 you can order your wingpeople to use specific weapons. And i think attack direction etc. This as been in the A10 for years. And why it hasn't been brought over to other typical CAS aircraft like 16 and 18, I don't understand
  6. Any idea when we will get pilot model for the A10? And will it only be for A10C II or will the regular A10C get it too?
  7. Doing something I rarely do, practice! I saw a little photo session on using the HAD to locate SAMs and then use the TPOD, never thought about doing that, as I find HARMs very very boring and almost never use them, I've almost never flown with the HAD. So apparently it has more uses than just firing boring HARMs. Never used the JSOWs either as people keep saying they suck. And they do that indeed. I now almost always run with splash damage script running, the latest versions, not only tune damage from bombs etc., but adds some great looking visual effects too. Though I think you have to "turn on" cluster bomb improvements, which I haven't done. Anyway, ran my little training mission twice, first time, didn't go well, hence the close up of the Buk 11 in one of the pictures, in the second go it went much better, both the SA6 and Buk11 got taken out by JSOW spam, 4 from me and 4 from my wingman. Some launchers still standing, but all radars are gone.

  9. After a 3 month break, I’m back to my Fulda Gap series. Last time, the Soviets took Fulda, and are now in full swing of concentrating their forces around the town, as of now, there are no proper ground forces between the soviets in Fulda and Frankfurt, A German mechanized platoon is stuck inside Fulda as the Soviets ran past them in their hurry. So the only forces NATO has in the area as the first day of the war is getting to an end is air power. 2 Flights of Apache, 1 Flight of GR 3 Harriers and 2 Flights of A10s, as well as some F-4s still in the area from the strike on the Soviet reinforcements. The mission gets chaotic, with Mavs, Hellfires, Iglas, SA-5s flying about. But the mission was mostly successful, most of the remaining soviet armor around Fulda was taken out. The question is, what happens during the night? Some 300 soviet vehicles are still heading for Fulda, even though their columns have taken a pounding

  11. 1978 an argument between Soviet Premier Alexei Nikolayevich Kosygin and American President Jimmy Carter over who has the most spectacular Lava Lamp collection, leads to border clashes along the southern West/East German border. Mostly a show thing, artillery and bullets flying over the border both ways, causing little damage. But a large Soviet column is spotted heading towards the border, and fears of this phony war going real seems dangerously close to reality. Anti Soviet partisans in East Germany blows a small bridge, causing the column of 200 vehicles to stop. F-4s are sent in to give the Soviet forces something they did not expect.

  13. Yes again. I encounter a problem. I need to blow up a bridge in the beginning of a mission. I want it to look like the bridge is under repair. But the explosion in the beginning of the mission kills the static diggers. Since static can't move, can't be made immortal, and can't have late activation. I can't have the diggers where i want them.
  14. Download dedicated server and run missions from tjere. The tracks still breaks, but they work 80%, 80% of the time. You'll need to set off another 200+ gigs to run the dedicated server.
  15. So the F4 has night vision options. But was it ever used by the US? I've read several books about American pilots who flew the F4 into the 80s. And they never seemed to have used it. The vast majority of American fast jets didn't use them as late as the gulf war or even the Balkans. So I'm guessing the NVGs are for those that continued to use the F4 after the early 90s. Like Germans, Turks, Koreans etc?
  16. In a very improbable incident, Russia launched an attack from Belarus, ran through Poland without stopping, and got into Germany, where they occupied Leipzig in an attempt to hold the city hostage, to force Europe to withdraw support to Ukraine. Naturally, the Poles closed the retreat for Russia and now a small corps is stuck in Germany, with no possibility of rescue, bent on causing as much economic damage as possible before being annihilated. They spread out from Leipzig. All this is just an excuse to blow up Currenthills new assets with an Apache on the CWG map. Not having strategic SAM defense, they rely on tactical SAMs like Tor and Pantsir. A small gap between these, have been found with a soviet column moving south, the gap is about 4km, just enough room to send 2 Apaches for an ambush(naturally the AI Apache flew right into the SAM and got shot down immediately. ) We also encountered the offspring between a T90 and Zeus, the TOS-1 is a demi-god, almost indestructible, it took around 200 30 Mike Mikes to start smoking, and then we were out of ammo(Currenthill is on it and it will be adjusted)

  18. I like that ED seems to have become more receptive to wishes of the user base. First adding ocean to Afghanistan and now Iranian bases on the Iraq map. Excellent stuff.
  19. By hitting Left alt +F1 we get a hud only view. I would like more options in this for replay. By hitting the same command several times. You could cycle between 1. the one that is now(hud and screens) 2. Full screen hud no screens) 3. And full screen screen (cycling between left and right. This would make my life so much easier when making vidoes. As of now if I want a large screen of the MFD or other screen. I have to either move the F1 view in the cockpit and zoom in on the screens(this won't work in the Apache as the monocle is superimposed in the F1 in replay unless you turn it off during the mission. Or I have to use the left alt + F1 view and try and edit out the the rest of the screen causing lower resolution And at other times it would be nice to just have a clean hud view to make hud cam views.

  20. Thanks. It was kinda fun firing like 300 rounds at the thing while chasing it around a small German hamlet. And yes quite a few rounds hit the chassis. But I saw dozens hit the rocket "pod" I look forward to a new and improved duel later on.
