And that's why we still don't have a full fidelity Sopwith Camel! isn't the GR 9 and Marine harrier quite close in capabilities. As close many other (loadouts makes it close enough) I think the GR9 could use Amraams (though without air to air radar) But in air to ground. I think they are quite close.

If you're recording the trackfile then the headset has zero effect on blurriness. You can fly with the lowest graphics options in vr and then max out the graphic for the track file. The track file only records what happens. Not what is seen through the headset. I record live my VR playing with very high settings in OBS. Then I increase the graphics to max and record external stuff in OBS.

Shouldn't be any blurriness unless you're using an old headset like Rift or mabye the Quest 2. With stuff like G2, Quest 3, Pico 4, Varjo and crystal. There Shouldn't be any blurriness. This video is from when I used the G2 While this is with the Crystal

Can't really give any help, except I feel my vr footage are much less shaky after I went from G2 to Crystal. Might be the headset or pimax XR.

Will be interesting to see, especially since Afghanistan is Apache country and the Apache is still the most demanding cockpit to fly in performance wise.

ED just released a patch that improved performance on all maps(Except SA). Some see moderate improvements, some have seen huge improvements including on Syria or over giant cities like Cairo.

Can't be much longer than say one of the missions in Blue Nose Bastards thats a bomber escort mission to Paris. That's like 3-4 hour.

It's been done to death. People say that asking players to buy $100 worth of stuff (aircraft, map and asset pack) to dip into ww2 DCS is too much and if you ask an IL2 player why they don't fly DCS WW2, you probably get two answers. 1 too expensive. 2. No real WW2 infrastructure. ED will counter with they have to sell the asset pack. Because its too much work to give away for free/not feasible because ww2 is so small. So then nothing changes DCS ww2 will stay small and irrelevant and its potential wasted. Because its too expensive for many new players to try, it doesn't have proper support or infrastructure. And ED doesn't want/can't invest to fix this. And is seen as the unwanted step child. Classic Catch-22. And now we're told the "big plans" for Pacific theatre will just be more of the same.

British Apaches took of from the 250 meter helo runway at Camp Bastion. Even with "just" 300 shells, 2 Hellfires. and 38 rockets. But they probably had max fuel with the extra fuel tank for max distance and loiter time. So far in the Apache Dawn book, they've neve had more than 300 rounds for the gun. They also mostly use flachettes on their rockets

Unless they are drastically changing how they do development. I wouldn't expect the F8 in this decade.

Tomcat is much harder to do aerial refueling than hornet
Gunfreak replied to Ddg1500's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I've seen vidoes of real pilots ramming the basket. So that's what I do. 2-3 extra knots into the basket, throttle down and find the grove. Works excellently on F18, M2000 and Harrier. Harder on the F14 because of the inertia of the giant plane and engines that are slower to react to throttle inputs. -

Using the Longbow FCR for the first time. I don't think anything else in DCS is as effective at just wiping out all things in front of it. We met lots of opposition, tracers and heatseaking missiles were used freely by the defenders as we went in close for guns and rockets. Needed to run through the 40 minutes track file 8 times to get all the external footage I wanted. -

F-4E Phantom II Development Update and Release Delay Announcement
Gunfreak replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4 Phantom
29 was not one of the aircraft updated external textures. Not that external texture improvements would be enough for a full fidelity module. Even with texture updates. The Su27 still doesn't have the external model of the quality of Apache, F15, F14 etc etc. So I expect that everything except flight model will be made from the ground up. -
F-4E Phantom II Development Update and Release Delay Announcement
Gunfreak replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4 Phantom
They'll save some time as they'll use the FC3 MiG29 flight model. -
Dutch F16s, Tornado (though it's possible the whole of Afghanistan will be available before the Tornado shows up) Harriers etc. Looking forward to this map. It will be my second wanted map of those in production after Kola. Iraq map will only be really interesting for me when/if it let's you do a proper Iran-Iraq war campaign on it.

Indeed! Will be awesome flying the Harrier low and fast down the fertile poppy clad valley of Helmand River. I do hope they model the poppies. Apache Dawn mentions how colourful it was with red, pink, purple poppies.

Showing up every 6 months posting a bunch of random pics of what looks like a finished module and saying vauge stuff like: ready for take off. Then nothing else. Then 6 months later more pics of a module that looks exactly the same as 6 month earlier with no explanations. Or posting a yearly update (after not having planned on doing it) says the last thing to be implemented was the damage modeling. Then 6 months pass. Picture of finished damage modeling. So is everything ready to go now? Nope suddenly vidoes of basic cockpit animations show. Up we never get explanations for thise cockpit animation videos. Are they just now adding cockpit animations? Why didn't they mention that 6 months earlier? Or is it just old stuff they thought was neat to show off. We don't know as they never bothered to say anything about these random vidoes. Then another 3-4 months go by. And get an update. They update by itself is perfectly fine, goes into more detail than any previous update they've had for years. Only problem is that they talk about the need to fine tune the flight model at various altitudes etc. So when they 9 months earlier said the last thing to do was damage modeling, they weren't honest? Something changed? No other module in DCS sphere has been so long in production, seemd so close to being finished for so long yet so little info actually given. 1. 8 years is just a silly long time to produce a module and is a unique even for dcs. 2. Combined with bad/incomplete/lack of info on what they are doing. Can't compare the Corsair situation with F4, or C130 or any other module in production. Extraordinary claims need Extraordinary explanations. Can be DCSed up to Extraordinary production time need Extraordinary explanations.

Gunfreak replied to Ddg1500's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
My main problem with the Tomcat is slower engine reaction. With the Hornet you can ram the basket, and throttle down, and the engine responds quickly. In the Tomcat with bigger engine and more inertia. I find it hard to get good ramming speed and then slow down. I get to close to the wing, so I over compensate pulling to much back and loose connection. I usually do mange to fill her up. But man it takes a long time.
