They haven't even been able to make the tracks show what actually happened ( and since the last patch it seems the tracks again are even more unreliable. After a good 6 months of tracks being mostly OK.) -

Still trying to familiarize myself with the A-10CII. But I always need an excuse and roleplay to even do some basic stuff. So some Strike Eagle pilots have been shot down in an unnamed war-torn country. With the local warlord hungry for power, capturing or killing American pilots would be a nice feather in his cap. A rescue helo is on its way, but an A10 is called in to do some CSAR. Having not spent a lot of time on the mission, it randomly lined up well, with me killing a tank just as it was about to blow up the Chinook. Lots of fiddling with systems I don’t really understand. -

Took me 3 weeks to edit this thing. Finally I got to delete 150gig of video. After the great air victory the day before. We have air superiority (at least for now) However the soviet tank horde. Is hard to stop. So far it's only been the Swedish army in its way while nato ground units consolidate around Kiruna. Now there's only 1 major river between the Soviets and clear drive towards Kiruna. The Swedish will try and contest the river crossing. But a platoon of infantry, a single tank and some artillery can't stop dozens of tanks, IFVs, rocket artillery, AAA and helicopters. So we must provide air support. Ideally we can stop the crossing, failing that. At least help the Swedish get away. 4 GR 3 Harries will fly north east of the river battle to try and take out soviet reinforcement coming down the roads While 4 F-4s and 4 F1 Mirages will try and help the Swedish. The other Nato aircraft, Norwegian F-5s, Luftwaffe F-4s, Finnish MiG21s, and Swedish viggen are all down for repairs and maintenance. I'm armed with 6 AGM-65As(very new technology in 74) and 114 rockets and some 600 rounds of 20mm. It becomes action packed. Taking out tanks. Infantry, IFVs, AAA, and dogfighting Soviet Hinds -
Nope. Nothing to be done. You'll get better at it. But it will never as good as other sims.

Ah I have 1.30 something I think with no option to update. (Neither firmware or pimax Play) I assume you need some beta branch? Does the Pimax Play Quadview have the same option as the original one. With ability to adjust resolution, size of high resolution window etc? -
Same with the other ww2 sim. There you can see the yellow noses from far away even in VR. But in DCS units disappear into this "shadow" the swallows up colour and detail from just a few hundred meters. So anything except formation flying wil remove the details on the aircraft. Why ED never has done anything about this I don't know.

We won't get unarmed people for obvious reasons. But I'm all for more variety in ground units.

There's wounded affects in WW2, not super detailed but you will get blurry grayed out vision and heavy breathing. Personally I would like that on the jets. Imagine a Korea or Vietnam mission get some flak on your aircraft. You're wounded and have to make it to sea and either land on a carrier or eject as close as possible to a ship.

Nope. for some reason DCS has made it very hard to spot anything visual from a certain distance. Colour, shape etc just get lost. Other ww2 sims dosnt have that problem at all. It's the same in none ww2 DCS. But aircraft are somewhat larger. They often spew out flares, they use afterburner and you have radar. But the same applies. Colour and shape just get lost once the enemy is a certain distance away.

I have pimax openxr running. Not even sure how to do anything else as that's what I've been doing since I got the pimax a year ago. As it was need to use quad View. So I use pimax openxr with eye tracking and Quadview activated there. -

I restarted the computer, and I was allowed to delete the folder. However it didn't fix anything, I re calibrated eye tracking and still bad preformance -

Can't delete the folder, it says the folder is in use, but I've turn off pimax and even deleted pimax runtime from task manager, and it still won't let me delete the folder The problem is that something call piservices and piserver is running, and even if I close them in task managder they pop up again in seconds stopping me from delteting the folder -
I saw i drop. Last week i flew the F4 on Kola had good preformance even with 200 units. After the update. The preformance was so bad the vr screen actually lagged(when you see black bars when you move your head side to side. This happened in the F16 and Viggen. So not an F4 thing. I then tested the A-10C on Caucasus with just 5 ground units and i had equally bad preformance as in Kola. So not a Kola problem either. But seems to be universal across aircraft and maps. I've tried fildeling with Quadview settings. And there is a clear preformance drop. So much so I had to check my ram, and CPU hadn't done something odd. I have 64gig ddr5 ram, i7 13700k at 5.2hz cpu and 3090 with 24gig of vram. So if terrain optimisation related to vram and ram. I should have noticed it.

I very rarely use Caucasus because it looks so bad. Granted with the new effects added the last year. The forests actually look very good. Especially a few thousand feet up. But built up areas, fields and textures just don't do it for me. Yesterday I flew the a10 on Caucasus relearning some stuff and flew low over a field. On maps like Syria, Kola, Normandy 2. The jet wash interacts great with the grass and shrubbery. But flying over thst field in Caucasus. The grass didn't so much blow from the jet wash, as it more shook. I'd happily pay 20-40 for a really well made Caucasus update. But since it seems impossible to have detailed Ukraine. I'd ask they move the map further east or south. And simply not cover the Ukraine part. Spending time and resources on redoing the map. When 1/3 simply can't be fixed because of political reasons, seems a waste.

I have many ground units set to basic movement, but only a handful move, I don't know if this is a general ground unit bug, or a bug with the Kola map, where the ground AI thing the ground is impassable. But it seems AI related as it random of the move, whenever I start a mission, sometimes some units move, some times no units move. I've tried to have the ground units start at 5knot or at 0knots, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Valley of Death.miz

Yay managed to make a video that was less than 10 minutes! A short sharp dogfight in my favourite Swedish valley. I saved my wingman and my wingman saved me. And two soviet pilots will enjoy Swedish hospitality. -
Except for the runway preview pictures not matching the early release. Everything else matching. They said from the start they would used satellite images. And anyone who had flown on South Atlantic new what that ment. Bad low level textures. And we could see it on most of the other pictures how it would be. So if you paid attention you knew what you paid for. Compare that to Afghanistan. That had only shown a handful of pictures, and some very very select vidoes second. With no talk of satellite technology being used. Instead talking about using the latest and best terrain technology. So when we got the map, many thought something was actually wrong with our downloads. As many couldn't imagine this was how the newest and best map was supposed to look.
