Tour of new Kola summer textures, some still from my video. A short hop from Bodø to Kiruna. Looking at the new stuff, colours have improved massively, it looks much better, close up textures on the mountains still aren't great(much better than Afghanistan) the but the worst stuff is the ground textures of stuff not covered in trees. Between 200 feet and 2000 feet, these are at maximum ugly, imagine if you take the fields on Normandy 2 but make them very low textures and you got the general feel. Below 200 feet and the grass actually covers this and it just looks like.. grass. above 2000 feet, it's less noticeable. And now instead of flying 15 000 feet above the terrain for it too look good, now a good 3-4000 feet is enough, I was flying at 7000 feet over the mountains and most of the time it looked very good. Only when you got within 1000-2000 feet of a mountain top did the low textures become very obvious. -

FU4 Corsair... Nah just kidding. Probably 3 more 20xx and beyond vidoes until we might see it for more than 3 seconds. I would like new infantry with the new animations. But most of all that long ago mentioned general flight model thing. That supposedly should fix so many AI aircraft problems. Any major improvement to ww2 DCS would be cool to. -
I did some replay recording. And once the camera is all the way down. It's mostly covered in grass and looks OK. The absolute worst place to be in regards to ground textures in in-between 200 feet and 2000 feet. When you don't see the grass but the low quality textures of odd colours and patterns. But once you put the camera at head hight it looks quite a bit better then I thought it would

It looks better lower down yes. At ground level, no not really. Instead of flying 15 000 feet over the mountains. It's noe good enough to fly 3-4000 feet over the mountains. The main changes is much better colours. The mountains are a much better, darker gray, With lighter gray speckeling, you have permanent snow on some mountain tops. The green is much much better. Generally darker. All this makes it look much more realistic. And perfect fine flying at 3-4000 feet over the nearest terrain. But still not helicopter play land. The ground textures not covered with rock or trees are particularly bad. It looks like it's trying to representanter fields of some kind? But don't look good at all. Not a place you want to land a helicopter or have a ground fight.

Been asked several times (including from me at least once) would make it much easier to make night time vidoes.

Doesn't affect AI I'm afraid. Reflected tried to make the 109s behave better in his campaign. But whenever they climed, they climbed at full power with MW50, even if he had removed the MW50. But it works great for players.

How do you even turn on pimax Quadview? I've basically set up my piamx crystal, and Quadview a year ago and not touched anything since.

Haven't flown yet. Have to wait until tomorrow. But doing a free cam flight over Kola. I get this thing. Never seen that before. Don't know if it's related to Kola or the "terrain optimisations " from ED.

Nope. I didn't have those extra skins until I added it recently. So not part of default DCS. But as skins they are not considered mods. And can't br removed by removing mods and run a repair.

As long as there is just 1 model of one aircraft. That model should represent all versions. If they somehow makes earlier MIG21 versions that is fine. I would prefer that the historical filter filtered weapons more than aircraft models. It's easy enough to find when certain aircraft started to be used. But finding out exactly what bombs and missiles a specific country had access to in a time period can be much harder to find an answer too.

Except it doesn't work right. As its to specific. You can't give Libya MIG21s in 1975 because Libya didn't have the Bis until the 80s. And that goes for a lot of stuff. So that makes the historical filter next to useless. Edit. Damn sorry. Didn’t see this was a major necro post.

Every time a British aircraft is brought up, it's a no go. That's why both the Europe fighter and Tornado are based on German models. That's why neither ED or a 3rd party developer have been able to make British jet. French aren't much better. So can't hope for Jaguar.

1. British don't like to give access. (Spitfire and Mossie are the two most modern British aircraft in DCS) 2. Some say the air to air radar used on the Sea Harriers are still secret.

Last week my Cystral worked perfectly fine, today I tried a mission and there is something "off" with the eye tracking, as I move my eyes I can see the foveated rendering move, and it's shimmering, it's very in your face and I can't ignore it. I've tried to recalibrate eye tracking, I've restarted the PC and crystal several times, I've tried 72mhz and 90mhs modes. I've followed the pimax eye tracking trouble shoot page, and everything checks out there. yet there is obviously something off. I've tried several aircraft and maps, it's more noticeable on kola with snow and the light conditions, but it's still there on Caucasus in summer too. Here's a video, and there is clearly something off.

True. Being a DCS nerd. I scourer the forums and Internet for info all the time. So very rarely he says something I don't. But a surprisingly large groups of DCS players don't do that. They don't read news letters or change log. Or check info from each 3rd party developers. So he gives a nice condensed video with all that info in one place. So that's good.

He is? Haven't watched today video does he mention it there? Or is it some live streaming?

Trying as best I can, to fake fast roping, I just can't get an AI helicopter to stay still at a realistic altitude or height for fast roping to be done. A nice simple hover order for AI helicopters would be nice, just set the altitude and duration for the hover.

I have 10 groups of infantry that spawn in when all the trigger reqirements are met, they spawn from BMP1, they won't move once they've spawn(or they sometimes move, sometimes don't, I've run it several times, and the move 2 or 3 of those runs. Same with another 3 groups that activate when helicopters land. they spawn but won't move. I've used this type of trigger dozens upon dozens of times, and never had a problem of infantry moving, I've tried to give them difffrent speeds and formations. cold war tundra moving.miz

Finished my second video in the War in the North video campaign. Always a challenge editing these videos. I use a dedicated server and that makes 2 tracks, one multiplayer track in my DCS folder and 1 multiplayer track in the dedicated server folder. The one in my dcs folder is more or less correct, mostly showing what happened. The problem is I get all the communications and jester talk. on top of that my F4(and only mine) Shakes something extreme, think jackhammer shaking, it means it’s almost impossible to do any video of my own F4, I can show bombs and missiles, not not my own F-4 In the track in the dedicated server file, I don’t have to listen to jester or other communications and my F4 doesn't shake, however that one 95% of the time breaks. In aIr combat that usually means my F4 gets hit, half the plane goes away but it continues to fly on its path and lands at the end, with 1 half wing, no nose, no tail the AI also breaks and generally is very far from what happened. Anyway, after losing two SAM sites, dozens of AAA, trucks, ammo and fuel, as well as 4 MiG21s yesterday. The Soviets are bringing out the big guns. While on the back foot in the air war. The Soviets are still pushing the meager nordic forces back and the Soviet armor is just over a day from Kiruna. With the first smattering of NATO ground troops reaching Kiruna today. To give air superiority and help their ground forces. They have brought out their newest weapons, the feared MiG-25 with the R-40 missiles. MiG-21 will add to the CAP. To attack the Kiruna runway the new Su-24s have been brought to the front. With a flight of MiG-21s to support, with the job of taking out airfield defenses( or take AAA and SAMs in the face) Th US Navy F-4s have flown south west to meet up with othet NATO naval forces. But some of the Navy pilots stayed behind to man the USAF F-4s GR3 Harriers are flying towards the front but will there be a Kiruna to land at when they reach it? The Finns are mostly busy with their own front. But has sent a flight of 4 MiG21s to the Kiruna front. And like their fathers they are natural born Soviet killers. -
A bit anachronistic. As the mission is set in 1974. And I try to keep a general 70s sound track. But for this little short. I felt I needed some proper pumping music.
